Interesting observation.
I have a contact who lives out west, having spoken to her last week she seems very worried to have any visitors over for some action. I told her that I have a Golden ticket travel pass due to the nature of my job but she is worried I might be seen approaching her house, actually I got the impression she may have been busted recently the way she was speaking.
She mentioned some time ago the massage shop she used to work at which has been shuttered of late had received some state government (I assume) funding for rent relief.
How would this be justified if it's mostly a cash economy in which they operate.
I think your correct a lot will do a runner and close up only to reopen in another premises.

Having had a couple of shops over time I can tell you the rates vary from shop to shop.
Where the normal HJ service is on offer, when the customer pays the $50 for example up front the shop will usually keep $30, staff $20 in the basis on most occasions they will have a $20 or $30 minimum tip in the room. (some maybe do a 50/50 $25 each in the knowledge the tips maybe greater in the room).
In busier times they could make pretty good tax free $- 6 clients a day, reasonably expect a minimum of $300, not taking in to consideration any extra service or tips they secured in the room.
Most I imagine would not be entitled to any Gov support, so will be plenty of them looking for some income, but as we all know arranging that in the current circumstances is nearly impossible in Melbourne at this time.
What is for certain is that many will not reopen after the lock down, as no rent will be paid. I am sure many landlords will understand the need to be patient, not having rent paid, but the care factor for many of these operators will be Zero.
Many I am certain will do a runner, break the lease and worry about the consequences later. Already see a couple of examples over my way (Bayside) with all the shitty bedding and odds sitting out the front of the shop for collection.

Posts: 163Sucky sucky Massage shops and the gig economy
Morning all,
Had a conversation at work recently about all these massage shops which have been shut here in Melbourne.
Since most of these shops operate on a Cash basis then none of the girls will be eligible for job keeper.
Would it be mostly all of the tips they received they can keep depending on the shop owner I suppose these massage shops we all know are scams of various sorts and are no different to Any other business screwing the economy by not declaring any income.
Where have all the mainland Auntie s disappeared to?
They must be doing it tough cannot even fly home to Guangzhou.
Oh dear.

There are various agendas. They help girls get visas with bullshit colleges that are just visa mills but donate heavily to politicians to keep the racket going. Many pollies are secret shareholders via trusts. Many supply girls to pollies as well. They charge the girls a fee to facilitate visa red tape and generating paperwork.
The girsls do get $ for sex, but they are bait in a bigger scam.
The biggest money laundering is at casinos and pokies. No. 1 goto. Crown for example has a Board of directors of roughly 50% of each party. They keep it that way with endless inquiries that go nowhere (as intended). On Vietnamese guy was spending so much they staff had to wear gloves to not get high on notes with traces of cocaine etc. Car dealerships are another, but again lobby money. Both parties are against a national anti-corruption body with real teeth and well paid and motivated staff. Funny about that. It makes law enforcement a waste of time when those that make the laws leave gaping holes (actually valleys). Both parties spend roughly a $1 Am a week on getting their brand re-elected, that cash has to come from somewhere. The pollies demand all sorts of stuff, apartments sold off the plan to relatives and shills undervalue for zoning decisions, cash payments, freebies and property or shares overseas (one current cabinet member got millions from UNAOIL) via various front trusts and companies. The list is endless. Quite a few girls are also smurfs at the casinos / pokies. This creates clean money, especially with fly-in-fly-out smurfs. Brothels also wash their undeclared cash this way. Variations include paying bank debts in small amounts in cash. Others run up pretend debts with companies they claim to have invested in that go into liquidation and the "investors" claim a tax deduction. All those marble foyer fancy offices have to be paid for. Follow the money. And all those $50 m plus houses. You really believe they paid tax on that?
There are so many ways, most involve trusts, and the ATO will not touch trusts as this is politically off limits. It also disguises ownership, and tax secrecy laws make subpoenas useless. Successive pollies have made sure it stays that way so they can be sanctimonious and still get backend. This is why getting elected is bitterly fought over. Its not politics, it is a valuable racket like being made in the mafia. Mandatory preferential voting guarantees a winner to the two major brands that are an oligopoly.
In fact, besides PAYE earners, paying tax is optional, as many listed companies show with "sales offices" in Singapore and much else.

Life is very unfair and getting worse. Wages have stagnated but (tax free) capital speculation has soared. Pollies no longer resign but tough it out, knowing people have the attention span of a moth and they or the competition will always win, then just like in cricket, the bowlers with change for batting. Even in opposition money is to be had. They way to play is not to play or get smart to the myths, lies, propaganda and bullshit and why both parties are violently against anti-corruption measure. Look at Auburn NSW, Casey in Melbourne, water rights and Bangeroo in Sydney, open fraud on the public.

Most of the RnTs are fronts for other illegal operations, like immigration racketeering, money laundering of drug profits etc.

Posts: 79Do any punters here know the inner workings of how RNT's work?
How much the house keeps? I grew tired of the women always saying "shop keep $30, you need pay me more".
And do these businesses clean up? Disregarding the tax evasion that occurs.

Although I frequented only one brothel and a few illegal rnt, I still got a thrill from a BBBJ and more at bayside until recently. The poor new talent never matched to this places golden age of Cici Anna and Gina all available for months on end. So the impact of no reliably good rnt (sisi in keys Rd moorabbin was excellent) and lack of talent at bayside meant my spend was already dropping pre corona.

I used to be a brothel man but this year have turned my attention to cheap Chinese rub and tugs where $80 gets me what I want instead of $240 / session at a brothel for an hour.
