I've been in Sydney all my life, but that report about Clovelly Beach is certainly a fresh perspective.

I have been for skinny dipping at Bronte in the pool after dark with friends.. though have never hung out at Clovelly.

Backpackers are not really my scene.. though more power to Whomer for getting a backpacker or 23yo, getting her alone back to his appartment, and having her stay overnight.. v impressive.. esp if he's over 50 by the sounds of it.

Wow really, I was walking along Clovelly beach yesterday, might have to check that out one fri, sat or Sunday night sounds like it could be fun. So any more hints and tips would be apreciated.

I was back in Sydney after my trip to Europe. I was really tired after the flights via HKG, espec. because I wasn't able to head to Macau for a short stay at one of the famous saunas

When I was in Sydney I booked this time a serviced appartment, which is IMHO much better than a hotel. You get more for your buck....
In the first evening I was invited by an old friend for BBQ at his home. We had a lovely evening and tasted a couple of Australian and NZ wines together with his wife. I told them about my last ventures in Germany, HKG and Macau and that I missed the mongering scene in Sydney last time. He and his wwife smiled, no answer, only smiling. I asked them what's going on. Then his wife said. Go with him for swimming. So he invited me to swim at the next morning at Clovelly beach, which is a small beach. It is not for tourists, it will be mainly used by Sydney peoeple. And of course, I said yes.

The next morning I jogged to the beach and met my friend with some of his friends for swimming at the sea. They swim there every morning, men between 55-80 years old. Quite cool.

Before we went into the water they joked about me that I'm a silly man that I couldn't find beautiful girls in Syndey. Then they jumped into the water. The sea was cold, but wonderful.
After our swimming we left the water and they showed me a gym at this beach. This is a gym mainly for men. It's only open for a club called Covelly club. The members renovated it by themselves. My friend and his friends were very proud about it. And they informed me, that the Covelly beach is one of sydney people beaches which is also perfect for kids. In their understanding kids means that there is a mother. And they claimed that they pounded a lot of these women. Furthermore there is a parking lot in front of the gym and a restaurant. This area would be a place to find girls for some fun. At day you can find frustrated women open for some adventures (not my choice) and at evening you can find the Sydney insider scene - meeting here for fun and action.

At this morning I didn't see any action here and I thougt they are kidding me.

The next evening I tried my luck in a few restaurants where I met some interesting women last time, but I failed. And I didn't want to use the massage parlors (I like this places only in Asia).

So I went next night back to Covelly beach. I used the bus to go there. When I arrived the parking lot was overcrowded, many cars and much more people. Groups, pairs and singles. I jumped in.

If you want to meet interesting people and if you are able to establish a short term relationship, then you should jump into the Sydney scence. I felt like 28 years ago in San Francisco and Paris. It is worth to go.
You don't have to pay money, you have to be a hunter and gentlemen. I tried it, I don't know if I was successful. But I'm in love with Sydney.
