I'm an Egyptian dude in my early 20's. I have the opportunity to travel the world and work remotely thanks to the job I'm in. I grew up abroad so I'm not your typical Arab dude, I'm more "westernized and progressive" so to speak.

You might want to rethink your trip plans. Just in last week new warnings from USA State Dept. About increased violence by cartels. The map shows the only really safe areas now AR in and near the Yucatan.

I've been to Thailand 5 times. Only been to Bangkok once but pattaya 5 times. I think the reason people keep coming back is despite the increase in prices the place is relatively safe for a solo traveller as long as you don't act like an idiot you will be fine. I'd be more weary for my safety in South America compared to Thailand.
