I think you are being overly critical or maybe not getting SIMs for the faster networks. I was in Bangkok a month ago and had good connectivity for 4 days of work. But, if you require perfect Skype calls 100% of the time, then I do agree you may have some problems. I hate Skype but find WhatsApp and FaceTime to be a little better. Certainly VOIP is one of the more challenging applications. Still, I do regular business all over SEA (today I'll spend 2 hours interviewing CIOs over FT from Thailand) and find the internet to be very good. South Korea is one of the most highly internet connected countries on the world. If you have a problem there, you are definitely doing something wrong.

You don't give a lot of details as to your interests outside of mongering.

Barcelona is one of the most touristy cities in Europe, and it is easy to fill days with the beach, the Gaudi Parks, the old Gothic area, museums, and trips on the train to Montserrat, Girona, etc.

Madrid is similar, with better museums, but not as strong for beaches and urban hiking. Madrid also has excellent day trip opportunities on the train to Cuenca, Toledo, and Segovia.

Neither offers particularly inexpensive hotels, so hopefully you have hotel loyalty points or can use airbnb.

They are easy to travel between, so it would be easy to do both on a trip.

I have decided to spend 3 months in Thailand but staying at AirBnB properties with the hope that internet will be faster at them (not having to share with anyone). You are right that internet is BAD in Phil. I found it is excellent now in Mexico cities (only since 2016). Bad in Dominican Republic even in most households outside of Santo Domingo city.

Will report back on other destinations. I intend to try Rio, Ukraine, etc. In travel / work mode.

I have been to several destinations over the years. Due to my employment situation I am now able to work from anywhere in the world but I am chained to my computer when it comes to office work, Skype calls, etc. In other words I can work from anywhere as long as I have reliable internet access and I can make Skype calls.

Which countries would you recommend (top 5, top 10) with good internet access? My definition of good internet access is 2-3 MBps or more. But 5 or 10 MBps or more would be preferred.

I happen to prefer Asian girls, so I'd say Singapore and you could spend all your time at Brix finding top-quality girls from most of SEA, a few white women.
