As this thread is on the subject of massages, I would like to really understand the different types of massages.

My impression is that there are three types massages I. E the rubbing type wherein after applying oil on the body the body is rubbed with long strokes of the hands and fingers with light or medium pressure. One example is the Ayurvedic massages of Kerala in india. The second type is where the body parts such as the legs etc are stretched and / or bent to their limits, an example is the Thai massage and the third is the where the hands of the masseur are used in squeezing the muscles while moving all over the body.
