Recently tried Seroxat (Paxil) 10mg/d, and found it kept me up for ever, but made me drowsy as hell -- evenings and mornings I was a disaster area. Not worth the effort when I've got so much to do.

Any other SSRIs which don't turn one into a zombie?

Addicted ToWomen - all SSRIs will keep you up as long as you like, but will make you drowzy at times. If you have too much to do, better to not take them.

You'll hate me for this - better to take a 20-30 minute fast-and-sweaty walk every day for a few weeks - same results as SSRIs, plus lose a few pounds, and no drowsiness.

I took SSRIs (Z's) about 10 years ago for a few months. The best side effect was staying up for as long as you like. When I explained this to the doctor he grinned and told me many of his doctor friends (including himself, I suspect) take them for just that reason.

Start with 25mg a day and see how it goes. Don't take more than 50mg a day. Even after ceasing the Z's, I rarely have prem ejac problems any more. Maybe a psychological thing.

Note - If you take 50mg a day and decide to stop, wean yourself off them or be prepared for a week or two of hypermania, which means lots of impulsive behaviors, including a raging sex drive.

Cheap way is to buy 100mg tablets (same price as 25mg in my country), and break into 4 bits. Real side effects - you'll sleep more (which was good for this insomniac) but 25mg is a very low dose. By the way, I'm not advocating, just letting you know my experience.

Just got back from two layovers in BKK - used a half-cialis each time. It does give that extra boost when a bit weary. It was still working 30 hours later when I got home from the airport early this morning. My wife was happy to see me.

I do not need viagra to get hard; however I tried it once to see what it was like and it was so much fun, I went and got a prescription.

The following is my experience only and is not intended as medical advice.

I find that usually a 1/4 or 1/3 of a 100mg viagra is enough.
I always take it with 2 tylenols to avoid the headache that often occurs.

Last time I went mongering I averaged 3 girls a day, and only took the viagra once a day, 1/3 pill, in the evening. It really makes me excited, not only as in erect, but also almost euphoric. It adds a level of fun to the whole thing, kind of makes me more aggressive as far as going up to girls and putting the moves on them (admittedly not hard to do with hookers, anyway, but nevertheless...), and just generally adds to the mongering experience.

I have not tried Cialis, would like to; but viagra is great. I think the main mistake people make with it is to take a whole 100mg pill, which for me, is way too much, it will give me a stuffy nose and a bad headache for sure. Usually 25-33mg is just right for me.

And yes, viagra lasts into the next day, too (someone said he didn't think it did).

I had to put this C + V thing to rest,after seeing Pipers reort from BKK. Never wanted to, but coincidentally, I had to go for a general check up and on the doc's table is a Viagra sign so I asked what I needed to do to get a prescription, 'nothing' she says just ask.Can I get Cialis I ask, and she says no problem.Anyway the check up comes to an end and she says 'here,take a present' and out comes a little box, a doc's sample of C, plus she gives me a prescription for 20.

She must have got a totally wrong impression of me. But what the hell, my health insurance is paying. So ok now I have to put the stuff to test so I popped half of a 20mg tab and I am off to my massage place.And hell this stuff is wild. I do not generally take pills but I wanted to see what all the hype was about and now I am not with a woman, pity,and still this stuff lingers,its almost 36 hours.

Anyway as for bad side effects I had told the doc that Viagra has too many and according to my research Cialis is better. She says well there are many options on the market but if I want C then again no problem. I did get one incredible headache and increased heart beat but no nose bleeds as I understand is one of the side effects from these pills.

I never did need any chemical support ever but I guess it could help if one wants to partake in a major sexathon,or rise on demand for that matter. From my experience I would take half of a 20mg dose a few hours before.

It would seem that Viagra definitely has some nasty side effects and does not (according to the specs) last very long but then again this is all individualistic.
Cialis just seemed to be the more attractive option as it stays in your sytem for at least 36 hours and has side effects that one can live with.

Its definitely not something I would take on an on going basis as exercise on a daily basis seems to give me what these pills do.Based on the competition going on between the major pharmaceutical companies I am sure they are not far away from more sophisticated potions.

I am not advocating one or the other but after reading about the scary side effects related to Viagra it was a no brainer to choose Cialis.

I had the opportunity to buy Cialis for 1400.- baht in Pattaya (as you are walking up Soi 8 from Beach Road on 1st or 2nd corner left hand side) there is a pharmacy) but turned down the temptation.

More importantly see your doctor before stuffing pills down your throat.

When I threw SSRI into google, it returned hits on mental illness and anti-depressants. Does not the same thing is it?

Geez mate you *are* quick. I just posted and you responded within 30 seconds.

SSRI does stand for Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, as you can read about via google. Z is for Zoloft - one of a range of SSRI antidepressants (different chemical to prozac). As it's an antidepressant, I mention taking only a low dose if it's for prem ejac. Again, not advocating, just explaining.

Antidepressants are used for many neuro/anxiety related issues (eg Zyban for stop-smoking, others for obsessive-complusive syndromes, and yes, prem ejac, etc).

Most of the research suggests that they are not harmful, especially in low doses, but some research says they can be harmful (eg to the liver) especially if taken for a long time (more than 6 months) and in high doses.

I have to say the obvious - see your doctor first, to clarify if SSRIs clash with other medications etc.

Anyway, I came to this thread to ask my own question: I've only tried viagra/cialis a couple of times, and in low doses, when I felt I needed the extra support. But due to a couple of past accidents with nose injuries, I'm prone to easy nose-bleeds. As these drugs are vasodilators, they send the blood not only to my little fella, but also to my nose capilliaries, causing bleeding and clotting in my sinuses. Anyone else had this experience? Any suggestions for dealing with this?

I have had some friends tell me about a spray on Viagra, available in Thailand, has anyone had experience with this?

I Have previously used Anafranil by Novartis pharmaceuticals. The lowest dose available is 25mg but what you'll need is about a quarter of that dose. 25mg is too much and will cause libido loss and erectile issues. I have also found that over time you'll find a need to increase the dose which also increases other unpleasant side effects, that's why I stopped using it.
