I am not confident enough to drive in Germany as I am familiar with only right hand drive even though I have an international license.

I drive on the right side too and I took my car to Germany, I have also driven left hand drive cars as well. You should not have too much of a problem driving on the other side of the road, I do recommend that you rent an automatic as a manual will be too much to handle, then you will be able to deal with German roads. I also suggest that you have a good GPS on your phone and use it! You don't want to get stressed out and get lost. But ordinary driving will be easy enough, there are only two things to keep an eye on - 1) your position in the lane and 2) to turn right when you enter a roundabout not left. This time I have to visit Acapulco staying in Klon and GT staying in Dusseldorf. I depend mainly on Train and buses using google and apps. Does it comfortable to travel by train to these places up and down? I have plenty of time for me so can reach saunas early and leave before the last bus and train. Hope senior members can help me with more suggestions.

Not really easy without car. Even used to drive on left side, but Germany is really easy and safe to drive if You don t drink. To test car performances, balance and grip. Even don't work yet as I want, but working to improve performances even complicated to make work in different way but together engine and sequential gear box electronics. Was much easier with manual gear box without electronics. But working hard on this and Germany is good place when leaving works zone with kick down maximum acceleration, gear falling from 6 to 3, then just amazing violent acceleration, great feeling.
