The place is small and they don't need to expand as they have enough fans from all over the world.

Not sure I would entirely agree here, though. It is small but I have noticed that attendance has fallen off from 2-3 years ago. You don't notice this so much on party days. I assume this is why Bernds has had more of them lately.

The American men magazine had for sometimes ago nominated Bernds in top-10-brothels of the world.

Ortos, I would have to say yes, it is exactly the same. Connie was just as moody then as she is now. There is a large core of girls still present from back then, and they have not changed one bit (except for the obvious in that they put on a few extra years). The food is still supplied by Reuter and still barely eatable. Some of my favorite girls have left (and in the case of Leonie ... returned), and some others have joined. There are till some MILFish ladies, who I would not do, even if they paid me. Pretty much nothing changed.

Yes, the girls are moody sometimes. But in my book this is a good sign. It tells us that this place is as fas away from forced prostitution as can be. The girls are free agents, who come to the club out of their own free will. (I don't know all of them, of course, but I know a few quite well.) And they have been moody 5 years ago, too. And cliquish towards each other, and sometimes petty, and sometimes arrogant. Just like us! I think that this is some of the appeal of this club. The girls come here as real persons, and they are not afraid to show that. If Magda doesn't want somebody to shout her name during sex, then she has every right to say so.

This is not a supermarket, where you insert $50 and get automatic product of reproducible quality. Maybe it's more like a farmer's market, where the produce is not quite as polished looking and waxed, but organically grown and more authentic . Or maybe I am just blowing hot air out of my ass ...

I'll admit that some of the small privately run hotels have great customer service. Friendly attitudes and go the extra mile. All seem to have last names that sound a bit polish though.

Bernds is a bit special club, if you come with an attitude and with great expectation for club, you will get disappointed.

It's so intriguing to see a guy like London Traveller giving us a completely new perspective on what has, for several years now, been an FKK icon, the oldest kid on the FKK block, Bernd's. I know this is a really different report, but LT's paragraphs, both in his original report on his experiences at Bernd's, and in his follow ups, all have the ring of truth and authenticiy about them. LT: It is clear (to me, at least) that you are not on some kind of Bernd's bashing mission, but rather just "telling it like it" is/was for you. I bet there is a bit of aloofness and "holier than thou" attitude there with respect to non-German/non-Stammgast visitors who some girls there (now) might (sub-conscisously) classify as "sex toursists" who are on a one-time visit.

If true, this concerns me greatly. Bernds and the girls there ultimately hurt themselves by not making efforts to expand their customer base.

Is it the same club? Of course not! What remains relatively constant is the service level among the girls. Sure, they come and go but the odds of picking a bad one remain low-zero.

Keep in mind that surviving for nearly 30 years even in the midst of a 2nd Great Depression says something in and of itself. They wouldn't be around and popular unless they were doing a lot of key things well. Not necessarily perfectly, but well.

Sounds great. You must be known to them though if you know the girls well enough to have 'favourites'. The problem I had at Bernds clearly wasn't a difficulty about being on my own, as there were plenty of other guys there flying solo, and I also don't have a problem with girls who speak no English, as long as they have the right attitude, in fact it can be a lot of fun trying to communicate in pidgin and sign language!

The difficulty really was the unfriendliness of everyone and the lack of service provided. This started right away when I came in when, instead of being given a big 'hello!', I was given the third degree about where I had parked my car. Then I was shown the locker but not where the showers or the slippers were, and things pretty much carried on like that for the rest of the afternoon. When I said 'hello' to the girls who I saw at first (about four different ones) I received a hostile stare and minimal responses and, I hadn't mentioned this before, pretty much every time I asked for a drink at the bar I was made to feel that I was interrupting a conversation. The coup de grace was when Magda, who behaved in the room as though she was late for something very important, gave me a critical lecture for saying her name during sex! I'd hardly call that 'great service' or the 'party' spirit!

It's great to know that some people, such as yourself, have better experiences than I did at Bernds. Maybe you (or another regular customer) could go with me next time and things will improve? I would be delighted to be proved wrong about this place.

But your average kraut is pessimistic, melancholic and bad tempered. I marvel at their ability to go from normality to rage in one move.
