As of July 1st smoking is not permitted in the upstairs lounge or zimmers. The wonderfully ventilated downstairs lounge is the designated smoking area. Yesterday, even the smokers were taking refuge in the backyard in between the rainstorms. I can only imagine what it will be like in the cellar during the wintertime when it will be too cold to open up the windows.
Apparently, this new law has exceptions- as Connie repeatedly lit up behind the upstairs bar. Leave it to Connie to spit in the face of the law...

..I might venture to suggest that part of the reason why girls at certain clubs are cutting corners and getting away with it, is because (some) visitors from outside Germany are so overwhelmed by what they get that ripping them off is child's play for the girl? Another curious feature is that the place is divided into two levels, each favoured by certain girls. Smoking should be restricted to one of these areas, but this is Germany!

I asked Connie about this the last time I was there. I was suprised they didn't have a designated smoking area like the cancer booth at the Palace. My second visit this year. Had hoped to meet up with Carmen, who did it for me (repeately) on the occasion of my last visit, in May. But she had the week off. Yes, there are irritating things about Bernd's, such as the cramped washing facilities, the lack of a pool or jacuzzi (ther was a small pool in the garden last year), the closing at weekends, etc. I am also put off by the geriatric appearance of some clients, and the many overweight types with their alpine beer-bellies. You just have to focus on the ladies and all will be well. Managed three in a row, punctuated by a Kölsch and whisky each time. Firt Ilona from Lithuania, very lithe, slim and athletic body. Next the ever-reliable Anna from Poland, a bit more flesh on her, always a delight to be with. Finally it was a newish girl with short, raven-black hair and a natural look to her. Also Polish, Natalie or Natasha by name. An excellent experience, one of the best ever. Plenty of good food and booze. No, I don't drive. Take a taxi from Hennef, from where there are also plenty of buses (to Uckerath) which stop almost at the door.
