The closest rented accomodation to Oase is Pension Wall which is about 600 metres from Oase at the edge of BHH village. Prices range between €28 to €45 I think if you get a single or a double room. Book direct with the Pension Wall.

Closer to the township of Friedrichsdorf where the S5 Bahn ends there is hotel Arkadia which is around the corner and under the railway bridge from the Friedrichsdorf Bahnhof. Somehow you need to book direct this place never seems listed on www.bookings.com or other www.hrs.de which are the usual hotel booking portals I use. The Arkadia is around the €50 mark for a single.

My mainstay is Hotel Mercure Friedrichsdorf Bad Homburg which can be booked at www.accorhotels.com for €42 for a single and a bit more for a double bed room.

There are a few more than the ones that I list but I need to look up my notes.

In my earlier mongering days when I was spending more time per trip and had more time to waste, I used to regularly visit the big spa in BH, Taunus Thermen (www.taunus-therme.de) on my way to Oase. It's only about a 5 minute drive from Oase via Ober-Eschenbach. Definitely world class and a beautiful place with a great facility like only the Germans seem to know how to do, on the banks of a small river that runs through town. Very relaxing pace, not expensive, but while subtle voyeuring is part of the experience, sexual contact of any kind is not permitted. I'd usually go there in the early afternoon when it was less busy. Gets busier after working hours and really busy on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Don't know about you, but staring at sweaty naked pensioners and housewives doesn't get me in the mood for Oase. And a word of caution- rather than invigorating you, these warm mineral waters actually make you more languid and apt to tire more quickly. But still, time at a spa like this is definitely a part of the German tourist experience and worth trying if you've never been to one.

I am glad you had some good prospects on your Thursday visit to Oase.

Sorry I did not make it to Bernds like you proposed. I was like Beffen and had made plans to be in the West. Bernds will have to wait I am afraid. I still do not know when either.

I made the trek up to Oase last weekend to make the most a long awaited sunny weekend. I arrived around 3ish on Friday afternoon, and after a quick shower it was off to stake out a spot by the pool.
