What time of the year did you go? It's known by the locals to be dead around August, September and October.

I went in March this year and last year and it was packed with US college kids. If I went in February it would be packed with Canadian and Mexican tourists.

When I was with a pulmonia driver, they took me to several houses and I never had a problem with any of them. He was great.

Went to Mazatlan last year. Seemed rather dead. I'm not too comfortable with the idea of going to some misc house that a cabbie or pulmonia driver takes me to. Hit a couple strip clubs, but only got some lap dances and bought some beers for the girls. Many of the girls were eager, and it was relatively cheap and there was more value added than what you'd get in the states, but still, the women weren't generally that hot as compared with PV or Mexico City or the border towns. Okay to pass the time, but not really anything worth bragging about. Worst city in Mexico so far, imo, for mongering.

I spent some time in Culiacan this past week but due to an overload of work related appointments I didn't have the time or energy to partake of local action. My associate on the first night though was chomping at the bit to get out of the house so we did go to Diana's massage where we have had some great service in the past.
I chose Diana (the cute curly blond owner) but to tell you the truth I really was so tired I just wanted a legitimate massage...of course after a relaxing massage my attitude may have changed but it was such a lousey massage I was more perturbed then anythng else.
The whole time I was on my stomach she was fumbling with a cellphone like she was text messaging or something and only rubbing me with one hand. She then asked me to turn over and then she proceeded to give me an unsolicited handjob with no frontal massage whatsoever, well after a few minutes of this I asked her to stop and to just finish the massage.
I guess I shouldn't complain, it was only 250 pesos and I have received much better there in the past. Maybe she was tired or pre-occupied with business matters and I should have picked one of the other employees...of course they weren't as good looking as her. There were a couple of better looking girls there on my way out who weren't there when I had arrived who probably would have given better service.
My last night there I was going to go to bed but I thought hey wait a minute, here I am in a nice hotel in Mexico on my last night of a great biz trip and I haven't done any mongering?
So I made a couple of calls to outcall services who told me that they could not get past security at this particular hotel unless I walked them in. Well hell that blows the whole idea of the discreet outcall since the people at this hotel and possibly some local yokels in the lobby bar all know me so I said forget it and went to sleep.
The good thing is that I saved my mongering money for another time.

MAZATLAN snuck off during the day and a taxi guy took me to a private house in the hills called Carlas. Only three girls thereduring the day, not very pretty, but very nice. 45 minutes for $60, no ruh good service, clean rooms. OK to tide you over, but nothing to go out of your way for. Taxi guy says there are some high class joints at night, $120 to $150 for very pretty girls.

The town seems pretty sleepy, but ya never know.

Does anybody know of any action down there in the area?

I dread the drive to Cabo.

HAH! 'sokay, I can identify with that. I'm driving down to Mulege this spring, with my wife, kids and her in-laws, plus, I'm picking up my dad (who's a historian) in Loreto to help him look up some pre MexAm war records that week. (Loreto was once the governor's seat (under Spain) of both Californias) So, uuh.

And you're absolutely right about not fighting unnecessary battles. One wouldn't want to sacrifice one's "ass-holiness (holi-ass-ness?)" for the odd "legit" weekend.

Getting back to the taxi guys in baja, they have been good for me (always with a buddy) in other cities, with mixed results. There's a great place outside La Paz, for example. And a not so great place outside of Guererro Negro (I think they were TV's. We had to, uuh, like, leave really fast)

But, I've never been assaulted or robbed or even seriously harassed at any of these places. People in Baja are generally nice & even-tempered (not counting border areas). But still, you wouldn't want to get falling down drunk with tons of $$$ in your pocket.

BTW, (counting a border area) I had a nice time in a small local bar a couple kms south of Rosarito Beach Called Endless Summer (think beach boys) over the xmas holiday. The MD set me up w/ a really cool mid 30's-ish slim woman who I bought a few drinks with and eventually brought back to the hotel ($100). I was by myself & the locals were all very courteous. Anna, poor lady, had to take the bus back to Ensenada at 5 am. I would've taken her myself, but she assured me she was used to it, & I had to get up later. I know you can get women for less in TJ, but, this was a much more gratifying night since it pretty much included the lion's share of the evening (including bar hang out time)

She wouldn't speak a lick of english though she understood some, but my high school spanish, a few drinks and cold weather did the job: lots of leg rubbing etc- no public lewdity.

So next time, get a couple buddies, a couple days and drive down to Loreto. You can even pick up and drop off the wife at the airport for the ultimate assuagement (is that a word?). Tell her you're saving money by driving (not!).

Wipeout, I finally made it to Loretto for golf, but unfortunately, the wife decided to come with me at the last minute. I learned a long time ago that if you deny a trip to the wife, she immediately becomes suspicious. I invite her on most of my trips and she usually declines and then tends to trust me more... Damn, I've come to the realization that I really am an asshole.

Its a little late but I wanted to comment on Culiacan.
It was happening as usual with lots of things going on and a lot of people in town for the agri fair. The stripper bars were full with great looking women from all over Mexico reminding me a lot of the clubs in Mexicali.
But I found that since I was so tired from working that the best service came from incall to my hotel.
Get a Debate newspaper and find the Massage, masaje, or masajista ads and you will have the delivery of a beautiful chica of your choice for $40-60 for 2 hours. A massage and a FS lay all in one..now thats the way to go when you're tired from a busy day and don't want to sit in a bar drinking cocktails that will affect you the next day. After 2 hours she leaves and you go to blissful sleep. Ahhhh life is good.

Sorry, this post is probably too late, But, try asking a cabbie, they usually know. A few years ago a cabbie took 3 friends and I to a place a couple miles out of town on a dirt road that was a set up as a classic mexican bar/ strip club with rooms in the back & no neighbors. I have to admit, the ride out was a little hairy- we could've been easy robbery targets. We spent a few hours there, and the cabbie waited. I think he joined us in fact for a few drinks that we bought him (another questionable action). They had a headliner dancer from the mainland plus at least a dozen other girls. As is typical, you buy the girls a few overpriced drinks and negotiate to go in back. I have to admit that most of the girls bere biggish and oldish, but there were a few OK ones. By midnight, it was pretty full with many locals as well as a few gueros. All in a very good mood. We had fun. The girls prices were relatively cheap, but, this was a few years ago. With so many guys golfing and fishing down there, there are probably other options a cabbie would know. Don't give up if the first one is ignorant.

Just returned from quick visit to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point). My girlfriend there had the flu, so I was on my own. I asked the "security" fellow at the Black Dog bar if he could get me a "chica", and he said "no problemo". I went in, and a few minutes later he came in and said he would have a girl there in about 20 minutes. Right on time a cab showed up with April, a dancer at Babe's, who was available. She wanted $100 for her, $20 for the cabbie, and $10 for the "security" guy. I negotiated to a total of $110, as she was firm at that level. The cabbie followed us to my hotel, and waited outside.
April was very friendly and willing, good half and half, but in a bit of a rush as she had to get to work at Babe's (it was about 10 PM). Overall, about a 7 on a scale of 10 for the action. BBBJTC, Russian and French kissing, but condom for full service. She took a shower afterward, and attached are a couple of pics.

Has anyone here checked out the scene in Culiacan? I go there a few times per year and find plenty of action betweeen massage parlors, incall, casitas, and strip clubs. They are all over the place and the prices are pretty reasonable.
Massages cost about $30 + $40 for FS
Incall is about $60-80 depending on quality
Casitas I haven't tried in a awhile but it used to be about the same as the incall for 2-3 hours..all the taxi drivers know where to find them
Strip clubs - the most expensive - $150.00 for FS in the back room or to buy the girl over to your hotel. By the way the better hotels will not let anyone who remotely looks like a "pro" onto the property so be careful of this. there are a lot of no-tell hotels for that kind of action and the budget hotles don't care..the 5 star hotels like the San Marcos and the San Luis definately check, I'm sure the Lucernas and Executivo do too. But I haven't tried there.
