Thanks Adventuremike for a great report. There is some confusion about the Calle 30 "yellow door" vs the chef as you describe. I recently went to the yellow door place near La Fogata Restaurant right west of 30th. It is unmarked, other than what you would call a half arch painted yellow. True to previous posts, the menu was the same-- 60MP for half hour etc. I did not have time to partake but was only checking for future reference, but the amiable man at the entrance said it was open 24 hrs. Only two chicas there at 1pm. I think your place sounds better.

Thanks to Beavis I visited one of the casas de citas around Merida, where I was taken by a taxi driver. There are several clubs out on the west side of town. I lived in Merida in Barrio Francisco de Montejo. Your best bet if you want to play is ask any taxi tom take you to one of many Casas de Citas. The street girls are around the ADO bus terminal on calle 69. Many transvestites but the corner of calle 69 and 66 is the best place to find action.

But thanks very much to the info from Capitano, I visited "Chef" both days I was in PDC and had a great time with a 28 year old chica. As indicated this place is just off Ave. 30 (East 1/2 block), but if you have not been there you will never find it since the cross streets in Colossio are not marked (the farthest northern road maked is Calle 34, but this street is maybe 12 blocks further). The street is the only one with a tree in the middle and the building is the first one past the tree, with 3 metal gates. The center gate is the correct gate for Chef and there is only a brown burlap covering on the inside. The "Fiesta Abarrotes" has been lightly painted over with white, so you can barely see it there during the day. The address seems to be 01440, where the 1 is written as a cross (so maybe that is 0x440), but I will have to take Capitano's word that the street is Calle 7m in Colossio.

I absolutely recommend going the first time in a cab, but to return you can use the Tusca busses that run along Ave 30 North and South all the way to Ave. Benito Juarez for 3 pesos and another huge savings. The description I have read of "Yellow Door" while mysterious is somewhat misleeding as the door is iron with burlap and the chicas refer to the place as Chef. I realize it is meant to describe the toy store (jugueteria) on Ave. 30, but that place is very poorly marked and I did not even see it until I checked every building in the area after I left Chef.

I arrived that first visit on Friday evenig around 7PM and the taxi driver honked the horn to alert the arrival then took off as the door was opened and the burlap covering parted. It cost 20 pesos to enter a 2 story interior courtyard with maybe 8 or 9 rooms off to each and probably 18 total chicas, ranging through the whole gamut of age and beauty. I was not offered a menu of services and when I asked on the second visit they claimed there was not one and I did not push since the price of 500 pesos for 30 min seemed to be consistent. Only Spanish seemed to be spoken there and I only saw Mexican mongers inside (though I imagine some ex pats would be there on occasion as well). The chicas all try to suggestively bait you into going with them, many from within their respective rooms, but it is more of a soft sell, so easily declined.

The first time I settled for a 28 year old chica who was a 7 or 7.5 in looks but clearly the best of the bunch (with some 3s, 4s and 5s as contrast). I forgot her name but it was something like Talena (but different). She quoted me 500 pesos and I inquited for how much time she said how ever long it took me to finish. I asked if 40 min or an hour were ok and she said yes for 1 shot, which seemed a better deal than the menu prices listed in previous posts (where 45 min was ~800 and 60 min ~1000 pesos).

After kicking out the other chicas (more chicas than rooms), we got undressed and I noticed she was softer than first appeared but still a good 7 in looks. She was a very enthusiastic provider and started with bbbj for 5 min before grabbing a rubber. I would not use the shower there, but it was not really offered and I did rinse off with soap and water and was given a clean towel. The girls seemed clean and safety conscious on the sex part.

All in all it was a great visit and I give the chica a 7/7/8 on looks/attitude/service and an overall value rating of 8/10 (all good for $45).

The second time there was a very young girl there, possibly 15 or 16, but I was creeped out a bit and I like some maturity and experience so I opted for the same 28 year old chica at the same price (the second time she let me leave the light on and did not try to upsell at the end). The second time I hung around for a beer before the deed (20p) and would have easily stayed for a few after had I been with a fellow monger or two or met them there. I had no problem gaining entry without a cab, but perhaps that was because the doorman remembered me from the day before.

I had luck in Merida by asking cab drivers if they knew of any casa de citas, so that might be worth a shot if you want to venture to other local brothels for variety.

P.P.S. If you are looking to save a buck on hotel I can highly recommend Hotel Playa Del Carmen (not very imaginative on name) on Ave. Benito Juarez near the corner of Ave. 15. The hotel has a large open courtyard/car port and the rooms are large and cleanly tiled with private bath for 300 pesos a night with fan (2 queen beds), or 400 pesos with air-con. I walked around to 20 or so hotels and that was by far the cheapest and nicest for the price near the night life. There were exclusively Mexican families there, but obviously ones with a bit of money and everyone was quite friendly.

But my favourite it's an illegal brothel near avenue 30 and road 7m in the quarter called “Colossio”. Ask to a trusted taxy driver to bring you to the “boss of colony” (chef de la columna) it's a local in an unnamed little street, the entrance is 20 pesos and the drinks are 20 pesos too!

The only sign on the door it's a writing like “ Fiesta Abarrotes” or something similar. From avenue 30 find a yellow toy store (jugueteria) it's in the road in front of it!

For those of you obtaining information on Merida, I just returned from this city, and there is plenty of action. Like Nano mentioned, there are many "massage" parlors within the city. The best place to look for the information is the "DE PESO" newspaper. They have about a 1/4 of a page with massage places and call girls that go to your hotel or home. Some massage places advertise "completo" for about $ 300.00 pesos ($30.00 US) and they even offer a 2 for 1 for about $450 pesos ($45.00 US). Police is beginning to crack down on these places, but do not worry, even if they bust the place, they only arrest the owner of the house. The girls and patrons found there are let go.

Sad to say, I was unable to go to a massage place, but I was however able to spend a night at a Gentlemens Night Clubs. These clubs or "Centros Nocturnos" as they call them are located on Periferico, close to a town known as Kanasin. These places are basically located in that general area. One thing for sure, they are very different from the ones we have in the States. Visited two places, one was called "Safari 2000", which is a big club and upscale. No cover charge, and good quantity of girls. Nude lap dances were being offered for $200 pesos. Seemed kind of steep, so my buddies and I decided to go to another place calles "Laurel de Tadeo".

Here the girls were very young (18-24), also a large club and no entry fee. Ordered a Bucket of beers (5 for $120 pesos) and the fun began. Since we were 4 in the party, the waiter brought us 4 girls with one complimentary drinks for them. By the way, if a girl sits down with you at the table, you will have to buy them a drink (Cost: $150 pesos each). Yeah! a bucket of 5 beers is $120 pesos and one drink for the girl is $150. But let me tell you, it is well worth it.

The girls we had were wild! Once they sit down, you can grab whatever you want. Lick there nipples, grab their ass, hand down their pussy, everything. All of this action right at our table. Sorry, no pics – I am one of the few people I know above the poverty line that does not carry a digital camera. Also I don’t like to have a lot of evidence of my occasional deviations from the marital straight and narrow lying around.

Merida scene

Was in Merida for a week with family. Nice city and surroundings (Maya ruins etc). Had only about three hours all to myself. Put them three to good use by purchasing two tabloids (one of them was Por Esto and the other I am sorry I forgot the name) and making good use of them two too. Both had several ads for massage parlors, one of them more than the other, but I don’t remember which. I phoned a few places with mixed success, then I found one (Manos de Angel) that offered “basico” for 200 pesos and promised 7 young girls. It was in a fairly remote neighborhood (Colonia Vergel Dos, Calle 23B 315 (I think) between 10 D and 10E - 50 pesos cab fare to go, 40 to come back). They did have five girls available in the small dining room of a small bungalow. Some of the girls where 40+ years old. One however was 18 and beautiful. I soon found out that “basico” did not involve penetration – which in turn required 230 additional pesos (270 if you do not BYOC – bring your own condom). It was well worth it, the girl (Jimena) was a really sweet 18 years old – heartbreakingly and yet cockbracingly so – I left 200 pesos tip (my privilege – please no nonsense about spoiling the market with excessive tips).

Moral of the story and summary of my research:

1) Merida is a good fishing ground if you speak Spanish (You need to be able to speak over the phone). (You also have to be able to figure out the phone system - cell calls are placed by using the international country code for Mexico, and a few other complications- but that you can have someone in your hotel explain to you). Rates seem to go from a bare minimum of 250 pesos (not tried) up to 600 (incall) or 900 (outcall) for fancier places (not tried either).

2) The yellow pages in Merida (2005 – 2006 edition) have a few (three) places under “Masajes”. They seem slightly fancier than the pretty basic place I visited, so they might be able to understand English. One of them is the Chicas Picosas place listed below. The place exists (they answered the phone and quoted rates) and they have a street address (below) but I was unable to locate the address on a preliminary exploratory tour I did (not included in the three hours mentioned above). (Perhaps I looked for it in the wrong “Colonia”., see below). They also do outcalls (for 800-900 pesos I think), so one could perhaps try telling them slowly over the phone in English one’s hotel name and room number and see if they show up).

3) The police is cracking down on massage parlors due to complaints by neighbours (see eg “Diario de Yucatan” newspaper on the web – search for “masajes” – they have no ads but a few articles on police crackdowns). Didn’t let that cramp my style – too many parlors, very small probability to be caught.

4) A few places below from a Mexican website (yielded by a Google search for “chicas picosas” Merida). Note that street names are numbers, but you have to make sure you get the “colonia” name as well – the same street number can be repeated in different “colonias” (neighborhoods). However, the one in Calle 60 must be in “the” Calle 60 (main downtown artery).

Was in PDC last week and only had one night to get out and about so my apologies for not having a more thorough report.

Malibus- forget about it, $0 entry $6 US beer $15 US for drinks for ladies and $20 for one of the worst lapdances I have ever had. Virtually no English spoken and if you want to have a dance you have to buy the girl a drink first. If you want to just see some strippers and drink then it might be the place for you, don't think sex was available didn't ask - not offered. I was there at 2 in the afternoon and it was busy. Chilly Willy's- I know most people on this board say its a rip-off but I went anyways. I was going to go to Marlin Safari (which is right next to Malibu's which is a block away from Babys hots) But the cabbie talked me out of it, saying the girls were much better etc. He probably got something for taking me there but I wanted to experience it none the less. $25 US to get in beer $3.80US and $30 US for two quality lapdances.
