Doing my research for SLP I was left wishing for the esteticas of GDL. Anyway, once again I went to mileroticos and older providers for these smaller Mexican cities and the strategy worked out well. Durango was a very nice surprise. When I first thought of Durango, I pictured a dusty city with tumbleweeds running amuck. It was a good size city, but everything seemed to be close to El Centro. It was a conservative city because there were a lot more churches than men's clubs. Churches were pretty much every-damn-where.

The people were quite friendly and were curious about gringos. They tried to speak to me in English, but that didn't work out well. But I do give them effort for at least trying and I encouraged them to continue speaking English.

There were a decent amount of interesting things to see and do in the city. It was hot as hell during the day, but it cooled off at night. Very few people in the city wore masks, unless they worked with clients; like hotel staff, restaurant workers, and taxi / Uber drivers.

Why Durango?

I'm still slowly working my way through each state in Mexico.

Note: I flew to Durango out of Tijuana and back only using my passport card. A passport book is not required.

All the money I quote is in pesos, unless you see the dollar sign.

I used CBX from Otay to the Tijuana airport and back. CBX round trip was around 38 bucks. CBX prices are seasonal. They have a low season, regular season, and high season. I crossed during the low season.

After clearing immigration at the Tijuana airport, I relaxed in the lounge for a bit. There was no VIP lounge in the Durango airport.

Getting there:

I flew Volaris round-trip to Durango. It was about a 2. 5 hour trip each way.

The taxi from the Durango airport to my hotel was 300. I took an Uber back to the airport for 179. Traveling each way took around 20 to 25 minutes. That depended on the driver.

Getting around town:

I used taxis and Ubers throughout my stay. Taxis and Ubers were abundant. Most taxis used meters, but not all. Both were cheap!

Late Friday afternoon, I found an Uber driver. He drove me to all the nasty places that Durango had to offer. His name is Oscar and I have his digits if you need his services.

Hotel:

I stayed at the Hotel Gobernador in El Centro. The place was beautiful and the staff was excellent. I had a great room and it was very quiet. Was it girl friendly? Yes, I had an escort cum to my room early Saturday evening. I will discuss my date later. I highly recommend this hotel.

Communication:

I have the North American T-Mobile plan; no worries.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

The street food venders were abundant throughout the city of Durango, especially around the parks and churches.

Spanish:

Because Durango is not a big gringo destination, very little English is spoken, except for the few in the restaurants that wanted to practice their English skills. Other than them, I did not hear any others speak English, which included in the hotel, restaurants, and drivers. Thus, if you plan to travel to Latin American countries, you might want to learn some Spanish.

During my 2-night romps, I got into a routine of getting an escort early Saturday evenings; this trip was no different. I searched for chicas on Mileroticos and I always contact at least 4-5 chicas. The first one that replies is the winner winner chicken dinner! This was only because my time was limited.

I set up a date for 6 and believe it or not, she was knocking at my door at 5:45! I guess she just walked through the hotel like she owned the damn place. Welcome to Tlaxcala!

Tlaxcala is the "Speed Bump" capital of the world! Those pinche things were everywhere, each around 1/3 of a mile apart. It took me riding over 250 of those damn things before I got used to the back seat breaking discomfort; I kid you not!

It's a decent size city that has a lot to offer. It seems to be in the middle of a modern city and a conservative city. But it sides a bit more with conservative because of all the churches. The city is spread out and it seemed to be 30 minutes to everywhere. Maybe it was because of the location of my hotel.

After clearing immigration at the Tijuana airport, I headed to the VIP lounge to have some chow and adult beverages. Returning, there was a VIP lounge in the Puebla airport on the left as soon as you past security. The lounge was small, but nice nevertheless.

Getting there:

I flew Volaris round-trip to Puebla. Puebla was the closest international airport to Tlaxcala.

The taxi from the Puebla airport to Tlaxcala cost 750. I took an Uber back to the airport for 520. Traveling each way took around 40 to 50 minutes. This depended on the driver.

I got in a taxi at the Puebla airport and that's when Mr. Toad's Wild Ride began! Mr. Toad seemed rather young and inexperienced. We started on the autopista and then, for whatever reason, he got off the autopista. I thought this was standard practice.

Then Mr. Toad's Wild Ride really went to hell. We got off on a side street, which was basically a dirt road. This is when I discovered those fucking speed bumps! Mr. Toad did a lot of weaving. He weaved through speed bumps, he weaved through other cars, he weaved through side streets and alleys, and he weaved through stray dogs!

After around 30 minutes, Mr. Toad stopped the miserable weaving and got back on the autopista. Lucky for me, there were no speed bumps on the autopista. But as soon as we got off the autopista, the speed bumps returned with a vengeance.

The ride took around 50 minutes. When I returned, I told the driver don't even think about getting off the autopista. The returning ride was a lot more comfortable. The ride back took around 40 minutes. The big difference was we had to stop at 3 toll booths, which cost a total of 190 pesos.

I do give Mr. Toad some credit because most taxis think the clients do not want to pay for toll roads; I understand that.

Getting around town:

I used taxis and Ubers throughout my stay. Taxis were hard to find, but Ubers were abundant. Before dinner on Friday, I found an Uber driver. He ran the streets naked with me for the two nights of debauchery. His name is Javier and I have his digits if you need his services.

I had two issues with Uber. The first was when I wanted to go to El Centro Tlaxcala. The clown took me to a different El Centro 40 minutes away! I did not realize it until I got out of the car; I was pissed! I called in another Uber and got to El Centro Tlaxcala.

The second issue was when I wanted to return to the Puebla airport. I requested several Ubers and when they saw my destination, they canceled! My best guess was they were busy enough in the city and didn't care about the longer trip. After 30 minutes, I finally found a driver.

Hotel:

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Apizaco-Tlaxcala. The place was nice and it was on a huge property with a security entrance. The staff was excellent. I had a good room and it was very quiet. Directly in front of the hotel were waterfalls and a suspended bridge from hell.

Was it girl friendly? Yes, I had an escort cum to my room early Saturday evening. I will discuss my date later. Because of the distance to get anywhere, I would not recommend this hotel.

" Finally the manager looked at my bill and the menu. He gave me 50 pesos and I took it as a win and quickly fled the damn place. Stay clear of this clip joint!

Guanajuato's a nice town, one of the better places to visit -- if you bring one with you. Good restaurants, comfortable hostelry, plenty of places to perambulate and shop. Foreigner visitors are mostly older, but at least the town isn't crawling with cruise ship people, or with sodomites like Puerto Vallerta. If you're determined to see all of Mexico, can spare the time, and you found a girl who's tolerable for three or four days, go for it.

For the record, the reason TomJackin never mentioned the city of Guanuato in his report is probably because this is also the name of the state where the city of Leon and the city of Guananto are located. My guess is also that TomJackin knows quite well how dismal the prospect are in the city of Guanuato as well.
