After a lot of little things added up to a prolonged absence, I have finally found time to post again….

I just wanted to add some comments regarding Loso's great, detailed reports. I think/hope that Loso had a great time visiting Zhuhai and other parts of China, but there were some things I wanted to add which could make his (and other mongers’) next trip to Zhuhai smoother…

While I know that women and/or working women are similar the world over, there are limits to how similar they are. This becomes doubly true if you don't understand Chinese at all or, sometimes worse, when you understand just enough of the language to assume the wrong idea completely. For example, Loso mentioned that "Her Bing" from the DMY sauna tried to scam him, which may or may not have been true, but since I usually believe in the benevolence of people, I wanted to reserve judgment until I understood the situation better. In my subsequent visits to DMY, I chatted with this cutie whenever I saw her in the lineups (she is #15) and she told me that she assumed the money Loso gave her was a tip since many foreigners tip (many times wildly-over-generous), unlike most Chinese, then you have a pretty confusing situation with the potential to get very frustrated. This would suck because assuming (correctly or incorrectly) that someone tried to scam you probably puts a negative pall over the next few hours, if not days, in a mongering trip/destination. This might even snowball by causing you to develop a negative/confrontational attitude for the next gal/trip/ect. leading to a cycle of fulfilling your own prophecies of getting bad service/scammed. And since I’m a monger, too, I hate to see other mongers have a bad time.

Then the last (and most vital) details are if a particular monger has 1) patience and 2) realistic expectations. Without these last two things, the situation almost always goes downhill, quickly. By "patience" I mean talking slowly and simply (in Chinese or English), and trying to communicate SIMPLE, straightforward information (name, prices, length of ST/LT, telephone numbers, etc.). The gals want your money and you want their pussy, so take a couple extra moments to make sure about details. And don’t waste time trying to communicate shit like “You are the most beautiful hooker I’ve fucked in the last 24 hours so let’s go drinking and dancing and then I can give you massage and then I will go buy you a cute fake-Gucci purse then we can eat a nice lunch and then after that we can fuck for free. I love you.” And don’t assume that her reply in Chinese translates to, “OK, handsome man!” either.

By "realistic expectations" I mean that many mongers need to accept the fact that they are in China and people speak Chinese. The vast majority of the China sex industry doesn't need foreign cock or foreign money so that is why people in the industry don't need to learn English. If you think they need to learn English, then go ahead and take the time to teach the girl/pimp/captain/KTV workers, and you might even have a good time. This basically goes back to the “patience” idea. Also, don’t expect better service simply because you are a foreigner. In fact, you should probably expect slightly worse service because many foreigners have a “me king…you servant” and/or “you do XXX = $?? I give you $$$$$!!” mentality which has made things more difficult for non-retarded foreigners. That’s why you have an extra incentive to treat the gals/pimps with respect and to act like you know your head from your ass.

This post is NOT a direct criticism against ANYONE in particular, I am just getting some frustrating thoughts off my mind because I have had too many experiences in the past few months where a foreigner doesn’t have a good time and/or was totally frustrated about one or more situations and blames everyone and everything around him, even though the root of the problem stemmed from what I wrote about above. Can you have a good mongering time in China without patience and realistic expectations? Ofcourse you CAN, but why stack the deck against yourself?

Anyway, I am not saying that every foreigner I've met are ignorant buffoons, far from it. I just think there are simple ways that most mongers can greatly smooth and/or improve their experiences in China, yet these ways are often ignored or forgotten for one reason or another.

I am happy to have had the chance to meet with Loso and dozens and dozens of other mongers these past few months. It’s always interesting to experience Zhuhai through the eyes of someone who doesn’t live here and/or doesn’t speak the language because I learn a lot of things from the experiences which help me to have better times with ZH gals as well as being able to give better, more accurate advice to other mongers.

if you’re a laowai, i would recommend you avoid the sauna scene in zhuhai, especially if you don’t speak the language and are visiting solo. you will only be presented the rejects and there’s a very real possibility you may get scammed. since you’re on their turf and can’t communicate with anyone, there will be precious little you can do about it.

the lhl streetwalkers are a totally different story. there are some hotties out there and the girls that will go with laowais generally provide great service. the lhl girls are way more beautiful than the sauna girls and you can fuck them in the comfort of your own room. they make zhuhai a destination worth visiting.

Getting There

I took a taxi from the Fortuna Hotel in Macau to the border (38 MOP). Without luggage, buses No 3, 5 & 9 will bring you to the Border Gate a lot cheaper.

After checking out of Macau, I walked to the huge Chinese immigration building. There were no less than 31 lanes, all of them manned. And I still had to queue up for some time...

The Chinese immigration officer checked my passport thoroughly. He even inspected it with a magnifying glass to make sure it wasn’t a fake.

When you walk out of the immigration building, take the escalator (if it’s working) or stairs down to the huge shopping arcade and follow the signs to the Lian Hua Street (Northeast) exit.

When you exit the shopping mall, cross the street and walk straight ahead to the promised land of Lian Hua Lu.

Checking In

There are plenty of hotels on LHL. The first hotel I came across that had been recommended by other mongers was the Great Aim Hotel (Chinese name Hua Ce).

As I arrived on a Friday morning, the regular rooms were fully booked. They only had suites available on Friday and Saturday, but I could change to a regular room on Sunday.

I still hadn’t slept and didn’t feel like checking out other hotels, so I booked into a suite for 2 nights (580 RMB). The rate from Sunday to Thursday is 30 RMB cheaper.

I ended up staying for 5 nights, but never changed to a regular room. That would have required waking up in the morning, and I’m too lazy to wake up early when I’m on holiday.

Suite

My suite consisted of a living room and a bedroom. I had 2 fridges, 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms.

I had my own personal spa in the master bathroom! Apart from the regular shower head, the water could also come straight down from the ceiling. I could have my back massaged by water squirting from the side wall. Finally, I could sit down, turn on the steam (and the lights) and enjoy a sauna. The spa was good fun, but when I showed the additional features to the girls, it scared the shit out of them.

The wardrobe featured a large safe with a number lock and his & hers bathrobes.

Deposit

Chinese hotels require guests to pay their room charge in advance, as well as a deposit on top of that. Since I’d only checked in for 2 days, they bothered me with their “deposit” bullshit every time I walked past reception. I simply ignored them.

When they stopped me, I told them that I would pay one more time – when I checked out! They weren’t happy about it, but finally succumbed to doing things the laowai way.

Laundry

It took me a while to find a laundry shop (no English signs), but I finally found one right on LHL.

They charged:
- 7 RMB for pants & shirts
- 3 RMB for socks & underwear
- 2 RMB for handkerchiefs

They process every piece individually & when you go and pick up your laundry, they have to go through all the clothes in the shop to find yours. Their system is very inefficient and it took them a bloody long time to gather all my stuff.

Each piece of clothing is identified by a colored piece of paper, which you have to take off yourself. I had 29 pieces!

Shopping

There’s a huge shopping mall which you pass through when traveling from Macau. Foreigners will be quoted ridiculous prices. Bargain hard and try to pay about a third of the original asking price.

SIM Card

There are plenty of phone shops in town where you can buy a local SIM card. You don’t need your passport and there are no formalities.

China Mobile has good coverage all over Southern China.

The cheapest SIM cards cost 80 RMB. Lucky numbers (with 8s in them) cost more.

Haircut

I needed a haircut when I was in Zhuhai, which turned out to be a great experience.

- They shampoo your hair while you’re sitting in the barber chair.
- You also get a scalp, forehead and neck massage.
- You move to a different chair to rinse your hair.
- You move back to the barber chair to have a haircut.
- They rinse your hair again to get rid off the tiny hairs that cause itching.
- They massage your back.
- They blow-dry your hair.

All that for 15 RMB!

Every time I have a haircut, I feel itchy afterwards. Not in China! The Chinese do most things differently. Sometimes they do it better!

Foot Massage

After a horrible experience at the Jin Yu Hotel sauna, I met Johnnykon for dinner. Since I wasn’t in the mood to fuck, he recommended I have a foot massage.

At the start, it was rather painful. But after a few ouches, my masseuse took it easy on me, after which it was rather soothing.

Xiao Ni
