I have to respond to this one. Ford and I have travelled similar paths through Curacao, part of Venezuela including the "dustbowl" of Margarita etc. Ford, I think I changed my name on here once but I got some pretty good info from you before.

Sint Maarten (as opposed to the French side, St. Martin) is pretty sweet so far. I haven't had the chance to get a real report together but here is a bit in brief.

Beaches are superb. Not Curacao clear, but soft and sandy. Orient Beach has some sweet naked tourist types to get drunk as well. The Curacao p4p was great, but at one place. I found it very hard to get into the panties of those cute blonde Dutch girls. Here it is a little easier. They are more used to US tourists. Pricier, but all English, all USD and a lot sluttier. Philipsburg (the main town) is certainly a shithole compared with the main area of Curacao but it is improving. Many brothels that are pretty well described here. I am no more than one good tip away from banging the shit out of a very cute bartender about 200 yards from my place. Will report back when it is accomplished.

These crazy Dutchmen do like their long, dark, winding roads. Depending on where you stay the drive is very reminiscent of Curacao. Better music on the radio though. Additional party favors are very available on the beach where the jets land. Topless chicks drink free there also, so it is worth a look.

How can you not want to fuck a girl who lives in a neighborhood named "Sucker Garden?" Since most of our posts have shared similar tastes, I tend to want to advise you to drive very quickly to the airport. You will need sunglasses, shorts, a fist full of dollars and that is all. I'll bet you even money you will like it here.

Would you say that a rental car is a necessity or could you survive a week or two by using public transport ? I assume taxis are very expensive?

I went to Seaman's I believe (does this place have pool tables? ) It was a great time there, everyone was very nice, and I talked one of the ladies down to $20 because I kept telling her I had a girlfriend and didn't want to do anything. Once I bought a new line of condoms (trojan supra polypropylene...AVOID) and went to the D.R. and broke 3 of them. One of them totally was just gone. Took a TON of Cipro to kill whatever it was. This was 5 years ago and I've been tested for everything multiple times since. I'm clean.

Bottom line, take your own condoms and use those.

if it had a pool table and you walked back, you were at Petit Chateau, not Seamans Club.

regarding the broken condom, of course you need to worry a bit, but these girls are tested regularly and are quite firm about using condoms. I think the chances of catching something, while not 0, are much higher with a girl that you pick up randomly on the cruise ship!

Never tried that strip club, but as it is on the French Side, it is most likely to be the same than those existing in Martinique en Guadeloupe. L'Extase in Guadeloupe is expensive and does not allow any contact, not even with hands during the lap dance. L'Extase in Martinique is closed for almost two years, and not likely to be reopened. For action, better head to the Dutch side of the island.
