[Travel Fun]

I was recently in Iquitos for a few nights and had a good time. The weather sucks for anyone who is not into humidity and very warm temperatures, but the people are very friendly.

I got one chica from a newspaper ad my first night, and she was fine. It's all starting to run together, but I think it was about 200 Soles for the hour, no issues, she stayed longer, and probably would have hung on to me if I had let her. There is a certain amount of desperation in Iquitos right now.

My last night, I was hanging around the plaza and a chica approached me. We took a stroll to negotiate. She started at 80 Soles for the hour, and I couldn't even try to get her down. She was thin and young, not beautiful, but good enough and I love that exotic mixture which seems common in Iquitos.

We got to the room, and after an hour, I wanted her to stay a little longer. She wanted 70 more, but we finally settled at 100 for about 2 hours. She was very nice, did what was wanted, and I gave her 110. She left happy, and I was happy too.

I stayed at the Victoria, and paid $40 US per night. The staff were very nice and I got no feedback about either woman coming up to my room.

If only the weather was more to my liking, I would definitely come back to Iquitos. It is laid back and decadent, pretty inexpensive for everything, but just kind of falling apart everywhere you look. It appeared to me that anyone with energy could do just about what he wants.

I had to admire some of the expats I met. 60 plus year olds with 4 year old kids just crack me up. I don't know how responsible that is, but for sure their women and kids are miles better off than a whole lot of the people I saw there.

It's unusually quiet on the Iquitos thread. I guess some people have to work for a living. Would be nice to read some recent updates though from any resident mongers there. Are the discos and clubs still decent pickup places? Not the clubs downtown, but the ones further from the tourist traps.

iquitos has the most prostitution districts in peru

(lip-jl) -- the international office of employment (eit in spanish) informed that the jungle city of peru has the most "red light districts" of any city in peru. according to the eit, 9 areas have been identified as places that promote the sale of sexual services, including those involving **** girls.

strangely, no mention of deaf/mute dwarves running amuck!

according to this article, people are screwing on the market tables of belen, and on open boats on the water in belen. now i don't think that describes most of the clients who post on this forum. that is, if you know how dangerous belen is at night. i am assuming people aren't having sex on the vendors tables during broad daylight, or in pequepeques on the water in broad daylight. most tourists would be robbed within an hour at night in these places. the locals admonish the tourists not to go near belen at night. we must be talking about low end clientel here.

they also mention the "plaza de armas" in iquitos as a "zona roja". you have got to be kidding. all you see there is families and tourists strolling about. even late at night you *might* see a street walker or a transvestite.

whatever is happening in iquitos it's not the red-hot city of prostitution that the report makes it out to be. i am sure all of these things exist, but in low numbers. otherwise, you couldn't miss it just walking around, and i had walked around in this city a lot. there were wilder days a few years ago, but this report is an example of ngos making mountains out of mole hills, since peru has already passed some of the most stringent laws regarding minors.

Now, for the price of a round trip airline ticket, just imagine. And you don't have to leave the lovely surroundings of Lima!

It was great pickings there in 2003, than it all went to hell in a handbasket in 2005. Serenazgo used to have their pickups parked on that plaza all day (and frequently at night also). That must have scared away the chicas, because I didn't see them on the streets. However, times change, so their back in 2007?

They used to ask for 20 soles a pop. More if they could but they would take that much.

Tarapoto is more low key is how I found it. Although Iquitos is a shadow of its former self also. Tarapoto is cheaper, but it takes some work to get to know places. I think that for non-pro action either place is good.

Tarapoto culture is a mixture of the mountain and the jungle cultures.

Lamas is a ripoff as another member commented. Corrupt policia. You maybe straight as an arrow, but they are trying to scam you with something. Maybe it's just their way doing business, but I didn't like it. I had the impression while I was in Lamas (10km from Tarapoto) that they are in the business to scam tourists. Did not have that impression in any other town.
Yurimaguas, now this is definitely a jungle town, was low key and friendly. Great place to spend some time, and you are bound to find something agreeable there if you speak the language.

Yes, someone needs to update the membership on Tarapoto.

Try Laguan Azul about two hours from Tarapoto.
It is a low-key tourist spot. No phone, no cellular service, no electricity all day.
But, it has a picturesque lake and great rooms by the lake for 20 soles per night. And you might even get lucky.

The girls here are very hot. To be honest, I don't see the point in paying for it as if u r half decent looking they will come to you. Go to Noa Noa and just stand at the bar. Another option is to go to the river promenade and hang out at a cafe. One word of warning, I attracted the attention of a 20 year old, who decided to camp out at my hotel in reception, which made meeting other chicks difficult. As for sex, I slept with a stripper from one of the clubs, great doggy action and a bit nuts...cost = $0.00.

Returned to Iquitos after a three-day Amazon trip.

I had enlisted the help of some of the hotel staff to get a girl to accompany me on the Amazon trip and one of them did line up a girl but we got our wires crossed and I missed him and had to do the trip alone. I won't go into all the details about the Peruvian jungle, but at one point we trekked an hour into the jungle to an Indian camp. There were girls there who were bare breasted and looked fine. Also, there were some older 'warriors' blowing dart guns and stuff. I discreetly asked the guide if one of the young Indians would be available to come back to the lodge for the night, but he was adamant that this couldn't be done, so I left it alone. So, no pussy in the jungle.

When I returned to Iquitos, I stayed in a different hotel and again asked the bellboy about getting a woman. He told me he could. No problem. It would cost 150 soles, same as the other hotel, so now I figure that that is the going rate. In any event, I called Cristina from a few days before and she arrived within a half an hour. While she was with me, the phone rang twice and it was the clerk from the first hotel calling, offering me women! The hotel staff seem to be the way to go as the girls they provide are all part timers; students etc.

The main square, the Plaza del Armas is a low key, friendly place with lots of families, a large fountain etc. There are also some streetwalkers here and I was approached twice. I took one up on her offer one night. Cost: 100 soles. She wasn't that great looking and the sex was unspectacular.

Additionally, I met up with a few local girls on the street and took them to dinner. The Peruvians are a friendly people and easy to meet. No success in banging these normal girls but I really didn't have time. The real gem was Cristina. Pics below.
