Good to read your recent report here in Iquitos, we're doing a jungle tour this week and took a moto carro around town for a scout yesterday. As you had mentioned only a couple of small nightclubs in local barrios etc. The streets were with good lighting and quiet, felt safe. I think one club named "chicas de la selva" was very dimly lit and not much aircon flowing, only few chicas looked decent while others lying around on couches unmotivated. Our driver took us to another local that was near an open air concert arena called "complejo" that was mostly groupies dancing together. The discos in downtown were packed with very young locals and standing in lines to get in, was surprised to see so many in small town. The plazas were packed with mostly kids and people walking about and watching street entertainers. My Spanish is good so going to give a try with Slys "go-between" tech, see what shakes along the boulevard probably best place. There were only couple so-so chicas sitting on benches toward end that wanted to engage with the quiet "hola" gesture. Everyone seems very friendly a bonus!

I ended up finding all manner of company in this town. So it is not as bleak as the earlier reports might indicate. All of the ladies were at least very good in the sack, and made one feel like "you are the only guy in town". The usual mix of hardened pros down to looking for a foreigner to marry and take them back to the States or wherever. Regarding the girls, I heard about a scam running here where the girls are in cahoots with a policeman. Once it's been determined that you have partaken of a certain pretty young things offerings, they shake you down and split the proceeds by threatening jail time, etc. So beware. Always check ID's and if she seems too young, she more than likely is too young. The problem is the girls all dress like, well, girls. And they seem to ripen at an early age there. Some of them are very precocious, and they dress to get attention. There seems to be by rumour a relatively high amount of HIV floating around, so when they offering sex without condom for an extra 100 soles, please politely decline, and not risk exposure. You know, the usual drill. The girls are a sexy mix of Latina / Asian. Michelle could have been Catherine Zeta-Jones' sister. She was going to charge me 150 soles per hour, but as we got busy, she suggested TLN for an additional 100 soles. 250 for TLN, and she was exhausted and walking bow-legged in the AM. Definitely good value I reckon. The gay guy with harem approach can work there. There are lots of gay guys and they all seem to have photos of gorgeous girls on their phones. Sometimes this works, that's how I met Michelle. You will find them as I did through friends, or by simply strolling the Malecon of an evening. That place is thick with hot looking girls. Many of which are available para llevar. Just wave them over and chat them up. Check her ID though, because there are lots of young cuties there that will get you in trouble if you are not careful. Just around the corner from the Malecon facing onto the Plaza de Armas, is a popular corner were the SWs congregate. I did not partake here, but there were some great looking girls of all shapes and sizes. My buddy from IQT and I decided to go chat them up and was told that the fare was 100 soles per hora for full service in your hotel. Some of there girls looked pretty rough, but they were doing brisk business with drive up customers in Motocarros hauling them off at a reasonable pace. It started to rain as we were watching the action and the girls all packed together under an awning facing the plaza. Police would stroll by and did not react to their presence. BTW, before I forget, the Hotel Sol de Oriente, on the main road out to the airport is girl friendly, so so breakfast, but the rooms are big and if you are going to have company, the beds are firm, jacuzzi tub and swimming pool to entertain, for $50/ night. It's far form the downtown action, but I found that to be manageable. It is very quiet and private there. I'm sure there are others.

I will be back there in late June, so I will report again, on what I find. Anyone in IQT or planning to visit, hit me up and with my resources I can help you get oriented and off to a good start. Your trip to IQt would need to coincide with mine; roughly the month of July into the first part of August. I am thinking about organizing a "Slyone" style party there during my stay, so if that sounds interesting, let me know! The girls all sounded excited at the idea of meeting more foreign gentlemen.

But today I wanted to write about finding small (what I thought at first were Chongos) nightclubs place deep inside some a few of the barrios here. A central hall runs down the middle and off of this corridor are a series of curtained off rooms with couches arranged in a "you" shape. No cover, and a medium pitcher of beer worth 2-3 glasses was 25 soles purchased from a small bar at the back. The chicas all find you at the bar and play around to get you to sit with them in the curtained off areas where there is a little more privacy. Hands and mouths get busy enough to get your attention with the goal to get you to take them out to your hotel for some "fukey-fukey". No bar fine as such, but the fare of 150 soles includes the house cut, which means that after your first session with them, you can get their numbers and deal directly for some savings. Last night, there were 10 chicas working this small place in all shapes, sizes and ages. I opted for a trio with Claudia and Angie, and I must say they were quite the "1-2 punch". Trios work sometimes when the two chicas know each other really well. That was the case here. I found another such nightclub, a little closer to the hotel. I think I will try it out tomorrow. Got to rest up and get my strength back. The girls here can be very sweet and very ardent lovers, the right ones are not shy about their interest in foreigners either. More soon!

I have been coming to Iquitos for 10 years now; I spend two or three months a year in Iquitos. I spend most of the time around Plaza de Armas and the boulevard. Too many tourist police walking the area. Keeps the chicas away. Even the trannies are not out; They were always fun to sit down and talk to. Even the "night clubs" have been getting harder to work. There is a new "high class" place in Iquitos. Women there want $100-$150 for their time, not soles but good hard American currency. The lady drinks are $20 each. I long for LA.

I usually go to the boulevard on the water where the bars are and look for a young Peruvian guy with 2 or more girls hanging around him.

thanks to those who've posted about iquitos. i'd gotten a half-award, half-paid ticket to lima and, as it was my third trip to peru (had been to macchu picchu on my first, natch), i'd decided to pop for the $130 rt on starperu to check out iquitos as the side trip this time, for 5 days or so. had done this not even thinking it'd be a monger-able spot, and didn't think much about that until checking this board just before the trip. wow, maybe that'd be something to try as well...people were saying i might be bored spending 5 days in iquitos (was on a budget, and doing the amazon thing via daytrips to see if it merits something more extensive on a future trip).

sure 'nuff, i heard from two separate taxi drivers in lima all about how the girls in iquitos were reputedly wild and ready to go, the male-female ratio, etc. and all i'd said was that i was going to iquitos.

night #1: got in late afternoon, just walked around to check things out. malecon very brightly lit, and police box there manned at night. not much happening, but passed by a few sws who might be on the make. low numbers with that, though (as in maybe 10 or fewer). a section of street across from ari's burgers seemed to be a favorite spot, it being between the malecon and the plaza de armas. i never saw any police heat or concern about that, but otoh it may be a turf battle to keep the public areas as "family" spots, as many people will come out on saturdays and sundays, especially.

night #2: had more energy, was going to do the recruit-the-trike-driver bit. a clerk at one of the tourist-oriented gift shops (there aren't that many) had offered to help set me up with girls and i'd filed that as a plan be. but then the best-candidate sw from the night before, mariana, walks up to me and starts with the grabby bit. she'd wanted 100 soles ($1 is about 2.77 soles) the night before, the standard opening, but i settled on setenta (70), which may be overpaying, but she was in the 7 range, probably late 20's and better-looking than all the others i'd seen.

i think my hotel, the la casona (just a half-block from the plaza) was technically ok with vistors as long as the girl had i'd, but it didn't have that mongering vibe that some places do, so i decided to see what the st places looked like. mariana had one she'd go to, on the east side of town maybe 3 blocks north and 6 blocks east, at 15 soles st. very basic and run down as you might expect, but at least you'd get a fan and a small color tv with a porn channel.

mariana did a good gfe but was just too loose and too dry for me to finish. didn't feel like possibly getting chafed on a hj so i didn't push that. maybe a blue pill would have helped.

i should mention my spanish is better than average (for a gringo), having studied 5 years in high school and then had 30 years to forget. it's easily overwhelmed by talking too fast or throwing in a key word not in the vocabulary, but it's serviceable.

night #3: jose, one of the trike drivers who often hangs out around the central hotels, offers to take me around. he speaks better english than most do but turns out to be a mixed bag. place #1 is one of the "titty bars" in some part of town well northwest of the plaza and not what a visitor would likely run across on their own. there's a muddy square that can be used for parking and one of the other bars on the square is named la luna, if that helps. admission for mine is something like 3 soles or so. it was 10:30 pm and only two other customers in the place, which had 2 levels and a pole but still that tijuana grot. two large beers were 25 soles. a girl came over to talk...maybe a 4-5 and large, with a butt that must've been about the same size as kim kardashian. she gave me a lap dance and i bought a lady drink at 10 soles. she wanted me to go for the fs at 150 soles but i wasn't interested, and i'm sure the price was inflated by jose being around. it being a weeknight, things weren't getting much busier very quicklyand i saw only 2-3 other girls (similar 4's and 5's), so i had us leave. then they want 3 soles for the trike parking!

then jose showed me a disco, the one on fitzcarrald a few blocks due east of the plaza, that was fairly popular. those venues have never been productive for me, and having a cover charge was reason to veto it. jose was getting annoyed. i called it a night with him and he wanted 45 soles for 90 minutes, but that seemed steep and i gave him 27 and he was ok with that. i think he was a bit biased toward commissionable types of things.

night #4: decided to try the brothel village. would ask mototaxi drivers with phrases like "teletroca" and "casas de chicas" and get blank stares, and had to go through 4 of 'them before getting someone who knew the place and would take me, for 10 soles. it involved a trip along the main road toward the airport and almost that far. to make it a bit more actionable, it's on a muddy side road that's a right turn off the main road (a. quinones blvd. is the main road). it's maybe 700 m down the side road, i'd guess, with no signage or visibility from the main road (i.e. another place you won't just stumble across). just do what i did and don't take a trike unless the driver insists he knows where it is.

the teletroca is the place charging admission (now 3 soles), and some names of others (not charging) include las cucardas star and la chispa del amor. they'll have a long rows of rooms on both sides with an inverted v-shaped roof over the whole place and, as was mentioned, not much lighting. the girls stand in the doorways to their rooms, but maybe because it was friday night there were only 3 or 4 out at any given time for 25 or so rooms, and they weren't exactly stunners. and they didn't look too motivated, either...some locals would get up close and they'd look away or look uninterested.

so it was an interesting cross-cultural experience and a bit unlike any place of the same function i'd been to before in other countries. most houses had a tv or two in the front or in the common areas showing not only porn, but usually the culo-penetrating or a2 m kind, i.e. really raunchy stuff, uncovered of course. must say something about local tastes, or maybe thanks to the internet the softcore stuff won't cut it anymore (seethe "overlogging" episode of south park). mostly for entertainment of waiting trike drivers or people who worked in the front.

went around the various places and finally found a semi-motivated one (i.e. one standing in the door that really wanted me to come in), who of course looked much better in near darkness than with more light on her (had no flashlight, but some others did and there's truth to girls not liking that). was maybe a 4. she said she'd do the oral at 20 but pushed a 3-hole upsell at 50 but settled for 40. i didn't really negotiate it well (being unfamiliar with how things worked there). they want "la plata" upfront and hand it off before providing service, as in nevada. i didn't like that much but wasn't going to fuss over that amount.

anyway, it was the super-rushed amsterdam kind of experience, with 2 or 3 guided positions that didn't get the angle or buildup right, and then she basically called time (way too early, it seemed like, but i should have thought to negotiate that, i suppose). a big negative factor i hadn't even thought of that was working against everything was having not even an electric fan in the small, dirty room. none of the rooms i peeked into had that, despite the oppressive heat / humidity combination. heck, even the low-end places in thailand and cambodia usually at least have fans. without that you can sweat a lot in the still air, making concentrating on the task at hand that much harder.

so overall i would not recommend the brothel village unless you're on a really, really tight budget and can get off a shot quickly (which gets harder to do as you get older, and of course condoms are a must, but you really need to bring your own). don't expect to see any stunners, either. it's basically a more organized version of the zona roja in tijuana...cheap and rushed but probably not that good.

as the main purpose of the trip wasn't mongering, i didn't try as hard as maybe i should...a real trooper would work the contacts to try to get the semi-pros sent to the room or soldier ahead with the discos, aiming for the younger, occasional ones looking for money for the latest samsung galaxy or something like that.

still, having been quite a few places, i'd throw some cold water on iquitos as a mongering destination simply because the sheer numbers aren't there compared to, say, the philippines, where you can go to manila, angeles or cebu and see literally hundreds of strong possibilities in any given night. i saw maybe 15 total sws in all the time in iquitos, and if every room in the brothel village had someone on duty the total might equal 2 bars in angeles. am sure you can do ok with patience and persistence in iquitos, but compared to that the asian places are much more of a stocked lake. there are good reasons to go to iquitos other than mongering, but i wouldn't go there with mongering as a primary reason.

El TeleTroca is not the only brothel in Iquitos. Peru. Nearby there are four more. They open at 6. If you are lucky you can find good girls, but go early, because when it becomes night you can't see the girls because the lack of light. In Teletroca you pay 2 soles for the entrance but for the rest is free. The Price is very low: 13, 15 or 20 soles, Kind of 5, 6 and 7 dollars. Other alternative I'd going to El Pardo and CNI where there are girls looking for the action if you look from the Capital Lima or you are a foreigner you can do it. Dancing is a good point for you. Dancing is their language.

Are there bar / casas I can visit?

Otherwise what other option I got if I do NOT want to take the girl into my hotel?

Someone in this thread was talking about some cheap joint where a pop costs around 20 soles. Any info about that?

Iquitos is very easy, just ask any motocarro driver and they know all the casas. There are some out toward the airport. I've never been but they are rock bottom, probably around the 20 Soles you ask about. There are also nightclubs all over that have girls and rooms. I don't know the cost but probably more than S100. Most of the girls on the malecon and plaza have short time rooms to go to but again more than S20. Malecon and plaza will run S60-120 plus room. If you can't get laid in Iquitos your not trying.

Pinche Gringo has asked me about my report and I was certain I had posted it. It might be age related, but I recently discovered I had not. My sincere apologies.

I stayed at Gran Hotel Marañon. Not very grand, but a decent hotel. Clean and well maintained. No lift. It is on Loreto. If you walk down to the river there are several cafes with tables to sit and eat / drink at. I sat close to a small group of attractive chicas and after a bit asked if anyone spoke english. One did and I asked about the town, etc etc etc. She ended up sitting next to me and was almost on my lap. Eventually I asked if she wanted to join me for a drink back at my room and we left.

I do not recall $$$ but it was not much. Once in the room she was soon undressed. Had a good time. Unfortunately I searched my computer and couldn't find the pictures. There is a nice 'walk' along the river and you will find some chicas on the prowl.

While walking around at night (seemed very safe) I was approached several times, but was just not in the mood.

I found the people friendly and happy. Not a great mongering location, but if you are willing to look, you will leave with a smile on your face.

The people are somewhat poor and do not charge a fortune. No stunners, but you will have a good time.
