    Apartment In Iquitos

[QUOTE=Louie Cifre; 1350951]Does anyone have a link to a site that rents out apartmens in Iquitos? Looking to stay for 1 month in January and need a nice 1 bedroom apartment.

LC[/Sumac Huasi Hospedaje is located just 4-5 blocks from Plaza de Armas. Calle Calvo De Araujo #463. One month rate is S50 per day for a one bedroom, AC, WiFi, bath with hot water and daily maid service. It is next door to the Columbian Embassy. They do not have a website. I had a friend to make my reservation before I arrived. It is as nice as Hotel Maranon but at half the price.

The Troc is a chongo. I use boliche for the other type of place, but I am sure it varies from country to country.

    Question

What exactly is a chongo? Is it like the troc in Lima or is it a bar with hookers sitting and waiting for customers.

    Facilitator

    Hey all,

I need a little help. I plan to go to Iquitos with a girl who hobbies. We've often had trouble picking up chicas together, because the girls either don't understand that we are looking, or aren't in to couples. We're both really good looking and young, but that rarely helps in this hobby. Does anyone have any regulars that can hook us up with while we are there in early October? Or, does anone know someone who runs an agency, or "that guy" who can find you anything you need in Iquitos? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Interesting place

    Thanks for the info.

For the moment I decided to stay in a hostel dorm for 20 soles a night as I found that going to the chongos was the best way for me. I pay between 13-15 soles for a wham bam thankyou mam experience and am happy with that for now. Its open from 7pm to 2am and costs 1 sole by bus or 4-5 soles by motokar. Its about 20 minutes from the city centre. I have been visiting it everynight for the last 4 days. Stops me from drinking and fruitlessly chasing women in bars / clubs and means I can stay in a cheap dorm room and not pay 100 soles for a private.

There are several hotels around the 60 soles mark (single fan room). They do discount the price if you ask most of the times. Hotel Europa, anaconda, la casona, el colibiri,

I came to do ayuhasca for 2-3 weeks and am 'stuck'here for another 2 weeks before my flight leaves Peru. So rather than be stuck in an expensive city like Lima I decided to stay in Iquitos. Gym is 3 soles, meals 7. 5 soles at the supermarket. There's not much to do if you look at the surface but over time you discover things. Island / beach in the river, exploring the forest, butterfly farm.

The girls. It took me a bit of time to understand the scene. But I have not yet cracked it. I have been repeatedly told by locals that there are about 5 girls born to every 1 boy born. With temperature at 29-30 degrees celsius (very hot and humid) the girls wear practically nothing! The girls I have been talking to (introduced to me by the restaurant female owner I eat at) openly told me that men here have a wife and several girlfriends. And its ok. Whereas if a woman did the same. She would be called a prostitute. It is accepted in their culture to have this setup. So much so that when you marry a girl. She often offers you her friends to sleep with and have another family with due to the lack of men in the place.

The girls I was talking to told me straight up that the girls here are horny all the time and love sex. I believe that. There is not much else for the locals to do! I remember travelling on the road to the forest (a 100km journey). Seeing HOT, but youngish, chicks. Wondering what to they do keep themselves busy.

Later in the night the city centre plaza has SWs (some / many are transsexuals / transvestites). They charge between 80-100 soles for 60-90 minutes. A lot of the love hotels around the place can also arrange a girl for 100 / soles onwards.

I have travelled to pretty much evey country in the world and was truly surprised by the beauty of the Peruvian women (the men thankfully are not attractive as I have been told by the ladies). I would rate it as number two after colombian / brazilian women but number 1 if you are looking at personality as well. The colombians are a little stand-offish and superficial.

Yes you have to speak spanish well. No exceptions. The few times I have managed to speak a few words of spanish I have been SUPER surprised by how receptive and open the women are. I am constantly being asked whether I have a girl-friend or not and they are looking at me with those deep doey eyes. I can't speak spanish beyond that so the conversation kind of ends.

Try Hotel Marion. S. 100 per night.

Right next to the Main Plaza.

But you would be better off trying to rent an apartment at that price.

    Further thoughts

For the last couple of days I've been a little off colour from something I ate, but in the interests of keeping this thread current I mongered on.

As mentioned earlier there is lots of smiles and lingering eye contact from all manner of chicas here, but there are obsticals to be overcome, at least for me. Firstly, some of the look awfully young and I am notoriously bad at judging chicas ages in Peru. If I'm not certain they're at least 23 or over, I just won't chance accidentally ending up in bed with a 17 yo, and the potential fall out of doing so.

Second is having the opportunity to get these chicas alone to talk with them or invite them out. For example, one of the waitresses at a cafe on the boulevard definitely seems interested but between her boss and other staff lurking around and her being busy there's been no opportunity to get her one on one. Maybe I need to grow a pair and ask her anyway but I don't want her to have to have her employer knowing what she's up to.

I'm only here for a few days and I have no doubt that you'd do very well here if you let it be known that you were here for a few week. Like in many countries, most girls are not just after a one nighter.

The boulevard and the street beside it can be hit and miss. Last night there was only 3 or 4 average looking pros, however the night before it was a smorgasbord. That night I saw at least 10 that I would have done and spoke to 4 of them, again, none of them had I'd. Not sure what the problem is there. Anyway I tookl a really cute 23 yo to a short time hotel and strangely she asked for the cash up front. Hmmm? Ok.

After a few mins of DFK she drops to her knees and is giving BBBJ for about 20 mins after which I tried to rip off her knicker for sex. She says no, and I ask why and she says problema. Aaaaahhh! Don't tell me this chicas a tranny! Nooooo! So I ask her straight up if she is and she got really offended so I stuck my hand round front (on the outside of her knickers) and had a good feel, nothing unusual there, thank god! That can only leave 2 possibilities. She has her period, or worse an Std! Yikes! She said she would do anal or BBBJ with CIM. I chose the latter. So I should mention that that one cost me S100 and she paid for the room 10 soles.

About 1 am last night I went to some big outdoor disco called something like inferno and there was a Colombian band playing there with smoking hot dancers on stage. There were about 500 people there including some hot hot chicas, but mostly with their boyfriends. There was definitely an over abundance of blokes there so I'm not sure about this supposed man drought in Iquitos. Despite being the only gringo there I felt completely safe and there was loads of security staff to keep things in order. I believe the place is open Thursday thru Sunday and there was a similarly big place not far away. If you have more time it may be worth a look. A moot taxi there cost 3 soles.

    Iquitos. First impressions.

ok i've been here two nights, a tuesday and a wednesday.

first night i was too tired to do much but i did spend a few hours drinking on the boulevard just people watching. apart from 3 or 4 women who were clearly hookers, and ordinary ones at that, there was mostly families and teenage couples hanging about. of the solo women or small groups of women some of them may have been on the make but they may have been ****, and i am not interested at all in any chica of questionable age. they need to look like they're at least in their early 20's before i'll even talk to them.

next night, much the same on the boulevard, nothing really of interest to mongers as far as i could see, except for the ordinary looking hookers previously mentioned.

i did get given a couple of flyers for tittie bars, one is emmanuel, on av brasil 942; the other is bandido, on pevas 219.

after i finished drinking on the boulevard about 11ish i ran into a local guy that had somehow befriended me earlier in the day and we decided to head to bandido. the guy on the door was honest and said there was nobody there yet so we went to some disco not far away. inside there was mostly locals, apart from some fat gringas, and few solo women. my new friend new a couple of the solo women in there and i later found it they were p4p. they were nothing spectacular. the best in there was a local chica who kept making eye contact with me and smiling at me when her local boyfriend wasn't looking. as much as i'd love to have slipped her my number, it wasn't worth getting beaten up by him and his big mates.

because of the lack of action there we decide to go to a tittie bar called las gattas. don't bother with this place. it was deserted except for about five chicas, the best of which was at the most a 6 and they wanted 250 soles for an hour, take out. i laughed, then left.

on the way back into town the taxista offered to bring down a few chicas. he made the call and two of the four he bought down were acceptable. they asked for 200 soles but i said no way, so they dropped the pride immediately to 100 and i said deal. unfortunately none of them had i'd and my hotel strictly requires it, and fair enough too, so that on didn't work out.

at this stage the back pressure was building in my pants so we headed again for banidos. inside there were a few people and only about three chicas unattended. i soon found myself in the company of a nice chica, about a 7, but quite bubbly and friendly. i asked about the take out rate and she says 250 and countered with 200 soles for 2 hrs, which she eventually agreed to.

so off we trot to my hotel, and lo and behold this chica doesn't have i'd either! what is it about these chicas and not having i'd? surely they know they're going to need it? so anyway, the doorman says no way and with the back pressure continuing to build we head off to some short time hotel.

in there she's got here gear off in a flash and straight down to business. the sex was quite good and she was happy to do anything i wanted. after i finished though she starts putting her clothes on and saying she's got to go! wtf? i told her that we agreed to 2 hours and it took a threat to go back to bandidos to complain to change her mind. round 2 was ok but after i'd finished i figured there's no point keeping her longer so we went our separate ways.

overall, there is definitely lots of eye contact and interest shown by the local women toward gringos, everyone from the receptionist and cleaning staff at my hotel to the waitresses in the restaurants, i just haven't managed to convert as yet. let's see what the next few days brings.

    Iquitos this week.

    Hi all,

I've just booked a flight to IQT and I leave in a few days, I've yet to book a hotel. Can someone please tell me if it's a high risk strategy to simply turn up and ask for a room or should I book it before hand? Often the prices quoted on the Internet are inflated for all the gringos booking from home and often I find it cheaper to walk right in. I guess it depends if it's high season. Can anyone give me a few hints? I was looking at the hotel Maraņon that someone here suggested but the price has gringo'd up 30.

Also. If there's anyone else going to be up there that would like to catch up for a drink and a chat you can PM me.
