I recently spent two nights in Trujillo and made the acquaintance of Miss the, who Jockey16 recommended (see my review in Lima, post #4336). Suffice it to say that she was a very sweet young lady (20 years old) who joined me for memorable sessions.

I stayed at the Hotel El Sombrero in Huanchaco- the view towards the beach from the sixth floor was amazing -- Miss the loved it although she was a little scared to venture out onto the balcony. The sound of the ocean while making love to her was great, although her cries sometimes drowned out the sound of the waves!

The north coast was interesting, archaeological sites in the day and Miss the in the evening gave me some great memories.

I've been 3 times in Trujillo, all the times for vacations, surf and good food! El Sombrero in Huanchaco is a good place to stay, close to the beach! With many bars and restaurants around.

Last week I had to travel to Trujillo for a two-days / one-night business trip. My business was actually in Puerto Chicama (Malabrigo), 45 miles north of Trujillo, but there's no way I'd sleep at Malabrigo; every time I have business there I sleep in Trujillo and drive one hour and a half to Malabrigo and the same back every day.

Flight:

My typical business trip involves taking the first plane out of Lima, work the day, sleep and take the first plane back to Lima, but flying to or from Trujillo, early in the morning this time of the year, involves a high risk of delay or cancellation because of the meteorology; there is fog in the mornings and Trujillo's Airport has no ILS, which means the pilot must see the landing strip to land the plane, so I decided to take the first flight in the morning returning the next day in the last flight out of Trujillo. That way, if my first flight was delayed or cancelled I'd fly later the same day and still have a full day at the construction site, but if my first flight was on schedule, I'd have more time at the construction site and still have the second day's afternoon free, which is exactly what happened. The two-way ticket in Avianca was US $ 150 with free soft drinks and one free 50 pound bag plus a 20 pound carry-on while in LAN the ticket would have been US $ 211 with no free drinks and no free bag. Also LAN is known to cancel or delay flights at the least excuse, countless times I've been delayed or canceled going to or coming from Trujillo or Tacna by LAN; so I took Avianca. The flight was perfect and I landed in Trujillo at 7:20 am as scheduled.

Transportation:

I rented a Toyota Yaris for US $ 45.00 / day with 125 miles free per day at Camino Peru Rent-a-Car. That is about the going rate anywhere in Peru (out of LIma). I take the car at the airport and return it at the airport.

Hotel:

I usually go to Hotel El Sombrero in Huanchaco but this time I wanted to be in the city at night so I took a single room at Hotel Pullman, my usual first choice at the city, for US $27.00 a night, breakfast included. I like this hotel, it is a small, clean, girl-friendly hotel just four blocks away from Plaza de Armas and a block and a half away from Chelsea Restaurant, which is my favorite and one of the best restaurants in Trujillo (in my humble opinion). Unfortunately I forgot the summer weather and the fact that single rooms at the Pullman have no air conditioning. There was a fan in the room but it was not enough.

Girl:

When in Trujillo, I go one of three ways: Option 1. I call my friend Jay and ask him to recommend a girl. Option 2. I call my friend Jay and we go out together for dinner and then to a night club or two. Or three. Option 3. I go on my own to one or more than one nightclub. This time Jay never answered the phone so it I was left only option 3. But I was really tired and had to drive back to Malabrigo early the next day for a business meeting with the client, while going to a nightclub (or two) meant staying awake until 2 or 3 am, so I went to option 4. I called Miss "A", a girl I've known for years and I hadn't seen in years. There is something good to say about an old friend, she knows what I like and how I like it, and I know what to expect from her. There is also a downside to an old friend. She is old; ten years ago she was a sexy 21 yo spinner, now she is a sexy 31 yo lady. Sex was good however, despite her constant complains about being fat (she is not), and only 150 soles (US $ 45) for old time's sake.

Sauna:

The second day I finished my business at Malabrigo by noon, had lunch at "The Point", probably the best seafood restaurant in Malabrigo, right at the seafront, and drove back to Trujillo. It was 3:30 pm when I got to Trujillo, I was sweaty, dirty and tired, and had to be at the airport at 7:30 pm to return the car and take my 8:30 pm flight back to Lima. I don't usually take the late flight back to Lima but, when I do, my usual routine is to take a really cheap room in a really cheap hotel, hot shower and no fleas being my only requirement, to shower, change clothes and rest before going to the airport but, in Trujillo, I'd rather go to Sauna Pussycat for that purpose. Entrance fee was 35 soles and I showered, went to the steam room, showered again, shaved and rested for a little while before going out to meet with my friend Jay who decided to appear at the WhatsApp. The sauna is open to men and women and, to be sure, there was a middle age couple enjoying the swimming pool; the working girls were hidden in the upper floor but I chanced to see three of them, two tall slim and very pretty girls dressed in tight black dresses came down to the towels stand to ask for who knows what and back to their upper floor, and another shorter bustier and prettier example of the same came down to the reception desk to retrieve a cellphone she had left there charging. I asked the guy at the towels stand for the girls and he answered "225 soles" (US $ 70). I had already arranged to meet with my friend before going to the airport so there was no time for sauna girls.

New Brothel:

At 5:00 pm, I met with my friend Jay just outside the sauna and he told me of the "Pantaleon Club-Men", a new brothel in town, so we decided to give it a check. In fact there are two new brothels in town, but the other one, "Kamasutra", is in Laredo, 30 minutes away from Pussycat and 45 minutes away from the airport while Pantaleon Club-Men is 15 min away from Pussycat and just 5 minutes away from the airport. Pantaleon Club-Men is a new building, entirely of pre-fabricated construction, entrance fee is 5 soles (plus 2 soles for the car at the parking lot) and the girls charge 35 - 40 soles for a 20 minutes one-pop turn; there were 50 cubicles or so in total but, that early, there were just 6 to 10 girls working, two Peruvian, all the rest foreign, all of them 4 to 6 points. There is a big hall with coaches and low tables with a pole-dance stand right in the middle and a stand-up bar (no stools). We asked for a couple beers and, within the first 15 minutes, one of the girls came to dance at the pole and also lap-danced for all the guys seating there drinking (no strip tease, just pole dance and lap dance). At the entrance we were told to keep our tickets because they were going to enter a raffle for drinks and girls. And so it happened. The first raffle was for an alcoholic drink from the bar, it was announced on the P. A. System but nobody paid attention so one of the employees went around asking the guys to check their numbers. Mine was not the winner; the second raffle was for a service with any girls at choice. And I won! I chose a tall slim girl but things did not go that well, she was cold and distant and I was too conscious of her being a brothel girl so, after a quick CBJ and a few minutes in a couple positions I decided to call it quits and went back to drink, chat and look at the girls with my friend. By the time we left for the airport there were about 15 girls, about 20% were local the rest were foreign, all still in the 4 - 6 points range.

There are lots of hotels in Huanchaco and, now being low season there, you should be able to get a good offer. It is a tourist destination so, if you don't care for confirmed reservations, once you are in Huanchaco just stroll around and any hotel that looks good to you, should be good enough.

Personally, I favor "El Sombrero" (you can google it). It is nice, clean, right on the sea front, the restaurant on the first floor looks right to the beach, it has has WiFi and it is not excessively expensive. It will cost you anything between US $ 40 and US $ 55 a night for a "double" with a matrimonial bed, breakfast included, depending on the hotel's occupation and your negotiating skills. Allow for extra $ 20 or $30 for lunch and dinner, again depending on your tastes in food. And you should be expending anything between US $ 60 ans US $ 85 a day for hotel and food. Many other hotels around, some a little cheaper and some a little costlier.

I've never had any problem inviting a lady friend to my room at this hotel..

I've never had any problem inviting a lady friend to my room at this hotel. Of course I always take a matrimonial room which, in theory, entitles me to have another person in the room, but I don't think the hotel will make trouble even if you take a single room (which should be cheaper than what I stated above). What I've told you here is what I do and what I spend. You can get by with less money, if you are not picky, or spend quite a bit more if you are into fancy hotels and restaurants.

When I go to Trujillo, I always rent a car; but that's me. I do the same whenever I travel out of Lima because I like the independence it gives me.

I don't think there is Uber in Trujillo but there are a lot of taxis and "mototaxis" and they are cheap. However IMHO, the best way to go, other than renting a car, is having your hotel to recommend you a taxi driver, asking him for his cellphone number and calling him whenever you need a ride.

I travel a lot to Trujillo for business and, when in summer, I stay at Huanchaco (It's also closer to the airport so that is an advantage for me). For all I know, in Trujillo you either go to the beach to Salaverry or to Huanchaco, and I always go to Huanchaco. Why? Because the freight port is at Salaverry, so I asume the beach will not be as nice as Huanchaco. I really don't know though, I've never been there.

Best places to go, IMHO:

- Sauna / Massages Style. Go to Sauna Pussycat. Hands off, the best public Sauna in Trujillo even if you are not looking for girls. Just be careful because it is not exclusive for men and you will find girls and ladies who are civilians and you should not harass them with proposals. The working girls are in an upper floor to which you access via a staircase. Girls are Peruvian Colombian and even some Venezuelan (Thanks President Maduro! All of them 6 to 8 points, but some luck is required since not all the best girls go every day. It is best if you go on a Friday or Saturday night.

- Night Club style: The newest and best: Giuliana's Men's Club, halfway between Trujillo and Huanchaco. My second option: Escapes Night Club, halfway between Trujillo and Giuliana's. The safest bet: Badany's Night Club. Countless girls from 5 to 7 points any day, an 8 or even a 9 once in a while if you are very lucky.

- Brothels: Hands down. Bahia Rosa. And the low-cost classics: El Milagro and El Quinto Patio.

Any taxi driver knows any and every place mentioned above. You can also google them adding "Trujillo" and find everything about them.
