Pretty big place (la manzana) just outside of town. It was a saturday night so it was busy as fuck but I did get to see a couple of girls.

I am tempted though for Sullana just cause I missed the bars with girls at night. I am sure Taxis in Sullana too know about girls too that that they can get. I remember too in Sullana but I did in the daytime I walked by the sticky river was worse then the sticky river in centro Tumbes for sure. I think I know why I never hit the bars in sullana was not cause of cash or money sitation I was scared And good thing I was cause Sullana is more dangerous. I seen worse too not Nazca but in Talara they were not Chongos but like these small boarded up prison looking bars where you open a board door even onvce with a wild dog on a chains ready to bite me. So I think Talars bars or whatever you call them in the daytime were crazy. Hate to do it at night. Once at night there too was a power outage too. A porno theater in Talara too next too a fancy hotel though I never checked it out when I did Talara back in like 2002 I think.

What I know on Piura like I said is two chongos going out to La Sullana there before the toll booth on the outskirts of town near centro colectivos take you. Last time I was in Piura a few years ago I think also a puta bar right by those two chonos opened up.

OK in centro there are sws you can try too usually scummy but sometimes you find busty morena babes. This scene is near a casino and Chinese food place. I forgot the name of the street. Look in my Nibu reports on this.

Try to the local papers there is info on escort girls. I think they are outcall only not incall at all.

There are a few strip clubs I think like only 3 they are not to far from where the bus agencies are off a mojor street. Again look in the old Nibu reports on this.

Ok then on to Sullana I passed there a few times. I did stay one night. I think only outcall escorts there. But Sulllana is a more dangerous city. When you arrive there with your bags watch out for theives around you as you get in to any mototaxi. When I did check out La Sullana I checked out the small chongo, See my report Oribiter it was the pits. I think only the Nazca chongo was worse. I did check out a shiity porn theathere in centro pure crap. There are sws outside of hotels in centro area La Sullana.

Ok on to even more on La Sullana. There are clubs with chicas too but I never checked them out. I should be in Peru in May. I will this time around try to check out the nightclubs with girls too.

I saw your post in the other areas section when I was last in Tumbes I came on an early weekday that chongo bar on the hill in the nightime where a mototaxi takes you I think is only open on weekends or late in the week it opens. I did find a place in centro area bar with putas. See my report from a few years back.

I am in Northern Colombia now, I think tommorrow I hit Riohacha on the coast. Yeh Man there are a few metal bands in Tarapoto. My friend wholives there says Tarapoto is totally safe compared to Lima. Anyways he tells me in Tarapoto there are not really any tetonas that sucks. Anyways if that road is still closed in the daytime no way in hell am I going to Tarapoto. Mightalso not have much money after Colombia and Ecuador. Please note that usually I am wary of excessive friendliness of locals who are total strangers. This is usally a sign that they want something from you (i.e. money).
In Yurimaguas I was convinced that the friendliness is genuine.

Greetings Nibu. My latest info is from 2007. It used to be no problem taking a taxi from Tarapoto to Yurimaguas back in 2004. In 2007 however, there had been daily occurrences of armed robberies along the highway connecting the two cities. I was trying to get to Yurimaguas from Tarapoto (2007) and was told that there occurred a robbery along a highway where money and passports had been taken from tourists. Then I waited another day, bought the local paper, and guess what, there was a report of yet another robbery; then the following day after that I read the paper again, and there was a report of yet still another robbery. It seemed that armed robberies of the convoys of cars between the two cities were held up daily and travelers robbed. This was during a period when they were widening the highway and the road was closed from 7 am till 7 pm, thus forcing all travelers to negotiate the 4 hour journey in the dark for at least part of the journey. I got fed up by having to wait so much and decided to fly to Iquitos instead. To me this, and other robberies near the city of Tarapoto was evidence of a deteriorating security situation that had not been there 3 years earlier. If the highway is completed then it should be safer to travel during the day. In a way Tarapoto is kind of weird. It's not quite sierra, not quite selva. It's in between. You get a mix of the sensuality of the jungle bunnies with the more reserved attitudes of the mountain folk. People are very friendly, however, and while making friends you should be able to run into some girls who are interested in a relationship. It seems to be that there are sluts here too, but it's more frowned upon here. When you go to a place to dance you find that couples show up, not single girls. This is more of a place for relationships. Maybe this might be the place to find a "nice girl"? Of course places of illicit sex exist but your moto driver is the best guide for that. Price has nothing to do with quality. Okay, maybe the quality of the establishment not the quality of the girl is what the price has to do with. Whiskerias might be okay too. Heavy metal bands? The city had grown a lot during the intervening years, and the prices had increased commensurately. The 20 soles room at the Luna Azul, three years later cost 60 soles.
Chinese people from the coast had started to move to Tarapoto as well.
I think you will enjoy Yurimaguas. This is Selva Baja, with the jungle ambiance of Iquitos but the friendliness of a smaller city. The bars around the airport in Yurimaguas would be the place to find the freelancers. I paid 20 soles for quick action with a decent chica behind the bar. I met up with a local dude who showed me the area in his truck, and found this bar. But it's near the airport so it's easy to find.
You are going to be doing Peru again, man I am envious
