Huh? You have got to be kidding me. Racism in Asia is way worse than it is in the West. See Japan, Korea, the treatment on Indian and Chinese Malaysian citizens in Malaysia (one of the largest examples of institutional racism I have ever witnessed), and well, what do we have going on in Myanmar at the moment. Yes, there is racism in the West, but the West actually passes laws and educates in order to do something about it.

I think you got your sense of proportion a bit wrong here. To me the first incident you mention is far worse than certain clubs and MPs in Bangkok telling me for Japanese customers only, or I must buy a drink before entry into Bacarra (which I won't risk wasting my time doing due to problem to get a decent seat).

I feel that clubs are not so bad when they select what types of customers they want for one reason or another. Indians have a bad reputation for being the customers that complain the most, cause the most trouble, and spend the least. It is somewhat understandable that some venues just want to avoid those hassles.

The restaurant chef told me that a customer ate the expensive seafood portion of his plate and then complained his food did not taste nice and wanted a replacement or a refund. One guess what nationality he was. Yes it is wrong to assume that all persons of a race will be equally bad, and we should give people a chance to prove the generalisation is wrong. Unfortunately many places think they can sum up the character of a potential customer with a quick glance at him. So it is wise not to look like some stereotype.

I do understand that very full clubs like Bacarra maybe trying to discourage me from being a waste of space in their club, and they seek to maximise there profit. Some types of customers have a lower probability of being good spending customers, and lack of trouble customers.

I have been refused entry to some clubs because I wore sandals rather than shoes and socks. Seems a strange rule to me, but I accept they can decide who they want. There were alternative places that would take me. I almost never wear shoes and socks in Thailand. It's too hot and sticky for that mostly.

I would love it if all bars and clubs excluded stinky customers, regardless of their nationality. Sitting next to someone with severe B.O. is definitely a problem for me. Cigar smoking should also not be permitted. That is also hard to tolerate.

Did you ever consider that many Westerners leave the West hoping to avoid the prejudice, racism, and intolerance that exists in their home nations because they find is appalling? I certainly do. It sure was a surprise when I found out that Asia tends to be worse than the West in this regard.

Not always. I've been to Tokyo 3 times. Stayed in Kabukicho and had no problem getting into the Soaplands. I'm from Hong Kong and don't speak any Japanese, but perfect English. I guess it helps when you have tattoos sleeves like mine along with well connected Japanese friends. Even in Bangkok, I was able to frequent Thaniya, which is Japanese oriented. The Thai girls who work there as hostesses and bar owners don't want cheap Asians I or Farangs. Those are hostess bars and karaokes, so sex is up the girl even after you pay for the karaoke room, drinks, and tips for the hostesses time. So expect spend about 6-8000 baht, not including take out for the girl. This is their way of weeding out their unwanted clientele types.

I keep telling folks on here that P4 P scene world wide isn't as easy as. "sex for money." Most of these girls have choices, so you better bring you A game and a wallet full of cash. I think some folks can't handle the fact that, that YES, there is racism against those coming from a Western country like America. Your comments about Thaiya are also somewhat false or old news.

Many of the establishments in Thaniya are farang friendly now at least as far as letting you enter the premise, and all but a couple will allow Asian looking men. The only problem is that majority of the girls speak very little English and the business model is more catering to Asian tastes.

Most of the bars have 600 baht all you can drink promos. You then pay a couple of hundred baht per hour for the girl and also drinks. BFs are 600-1000 and the girls will go with customers without much hassle and expect to pay 2000-2500 for ST and 3000-4000 for LT. I usually go for a couple of hours and then take a girl out and pay around 4000-5000 all in. Not much different than a night out in an agogo.

I have been observing the teansition where Thai folks are catering more to Asians. I was shocked when I took a Chinese friend to Poseidon a few years back. I was charged the 500 bahts Farang surcharge and he was not, yet it was his first time in Thailand and the Poseidon staff knew me as I have been there many times. I never went back to that place.

However, I wanted to say that, for me at least, Thailand is still better than South America. Indeed, the white male is treated better there, but the service is still lacking, much more difficult to get GFE.
