Just the way it is in most cases despite the exceptional fetish or something like that. And the paedophile issue is not exactly a universal factor because at some point a female is so young the prospect of her being a suitable partner for successful procreation is in itself an "unhealthy" endeavor.

Yes, it can happen that a 40 year old Is so healthy and fit that she can realistically compete with a normally healthy 18 year old. But that is probably rare enough that it makes all our heads turn.
