It is what she understands (or what she tells you) not necessarily what everyone else goes by. What you hear at one temple in Sisaket is not always what you hear at a temple in Surin. Good lord, this boring thread is dying a slow death.The only other thing I can add to the increased surcharge aspect is that it's 'very Thai': business goes down, and so owners raise the prices where they can to make up for the lost income, instead of dropping the price as a temporary promotion to increase volume to make up for the lost income. Funny how they end up losing more business when they raise the prices (and then go out of business completely).

It's not so much about cleansing as it is about balancing out the bad with good. And doing good doesn't necessarily involve going to a Buddhist temple. Helping the old and the poor counts as good deeds too. And a lot of massage ladies do send their money home to help their parents and poor relatives. They are doing this not just as a duty but as good deeds that will bring them good luck from Buddha and will make their after-life better, when they die. That's where most of the sacrifice from massage ladies goes and not for Buddhist temples.

Just like Christianity in Sweden is different from Christianity in Mexico.Perhaps Japanese customers buy more drinks and tip the massage ladies a lot better than farang customers tip. And to make up for the difference, some massage places have introduced the farang surcharge.But your idea that some farangs are abnoxious and impolite is probably true too. I've passed through Japan a few times. And one thing that surprised me the most there was how polite the Japanese there were with me. Japanese are very polite, even more polite than Thais are. And Japanese expect similar politeness from those around them. Which means that farangs and Japanese customers at massage places don't mix well. Even one obnoxious farang can spoil the atmosphere for Japanese customers and turn them away. And for this reason, some massage parlors choose to serve only Asian and Japanese customers. And they discourage farangs from coming there by raising prices for them.I know of one bar in Pattaya (Suzie Bar on Soi 4) that specifically welcomes Japanese customers only. And farangs aren't welcome there, no matter how much they are willing to pay. And it makes sense that some massage parlors might want to specialize like that too.

There might be more than one, but the one I know is thin, relatively tall, dark, has an oval face, bad facial complexion, and doesn't seem to smile. From my learnings, and it is all about what we are taught. Think you are mistaken about the oral sex parts of Buddhism. Buddhism has a habit to make lists of things, almost everything has a list, but surprisingly they are silent for a list about sexual acts. They do not say anything or put any details into accepted or unaccepted sexual acts. There is a statement to not crave sensual pleasure, refrain from committing sexual misconduct also. But there is no definition of what is sexual misconduct so it is left up to interpretations. It is a broad term and viewed differently by many. Hence some people can teach or be taught that oral sex, masturbation, anal sex etc.. is sexual misconduct. However... Buddhism is about showing love and caring... so if a person indulges in oral sex because of dissatisfaction with vaginal sex with their partner then that is a way to show love and affection and be supported under the principals. Again the scriptures are full of issues about sex in terms of power and desire but not about the physical acts of different ways of having sex. And like most religions you can play semantics and twist words around to make it fit what you want to believe. It's a can of worms and open to your own view points. But you can not say Buddhism says you are unclean if you have DATY or BJ. Your lady might have been taught it and believe that but it isn't listed out.

Perhaps you are looking at it too much from a Christian culture point of view. Unlike Christians who read the Bible, most Buddhists aren't in the habit of reading Buddhist scriptures. Buddhist monks read the scriptures and decide how to interpret them. While the rest consult the monks about the proper way to live.And when something isn't clearly and specifically defined in the scriptures and people ask questions about it. Then the monks decide on what to say according to the general principles of Buddhism. And as I've said earlier, one general principle of Buddhism is that lower parts of the body are less clean than higher parts of the body. And you can defile your head by excessive and deliberate contact with lower parts of the body, such as during oral sex.A good example of how Buddhists in Thailand deal with defilement is killing. Killing anything, including chickens and pigs, defiles the people who kill. And for this reason, butchers in Thailand usually have to compensate for their defilement by doing good deeds according to Buddhist traditions. Which includes sacrifice and expense for them. And butchers normally include this extra expense in the price they charge for killing and butchering animals.And it works the same way in massage parlors, when they include an extra charge for farangs for oral sex that defiles the ladies.

Yes Thai men don't do DATY in general because its either "unclean" or they are too lazy. But many if not most Thai girls love it.But Thai men will happily receive a blow-job. O.K.
