I agree that 100 BHT is ample for the mama/papa in most instances. And I always give it to them in front of the girl to establish myself as a tipper. I believe this gives her a clear signal that if she performs well, she will be tipped. They know from experience that a lot of customers, especially locals and other Asians, do not tip. I agree that tipping is a personal choice and there is no right or wrong. I don't convert the local baht into US dollars, but rather view things from the local perspective and relative value of money, based on what I know about the local wages.I tip the soapie waitress 20thb. The soapie girls generally give 20thb to the lady who brings the basket of soaps and supplies into the room. So I always drop 20thb into the basket or leave it on the dresser, it's a very small gesture, but it earns me a thank you from my girl.I think not many people tip the mamasan, and I don't know if they earn a salary or not, they probably has a small base plus a revenue-based bonus. Sometimes the girls will share with mamasan 100-200thb if the girls get a good tip. I tip my mamasan 200thb up front at the time of payment so my girl will see it, and they know to keep all of the tips from me. Just little things but it means the girl keeps the full tips.Now some may think that the 200thb to mamasan is a waste, afterall they might have given a good advice the first time, but subsequently you don't need to tip each time. And your thinking would be correct. It's just my way to establish myself as a friendly and generous regular, they give me their phone number, and I can get them to check the schedule and call me when a girl is working that day, etc.

This is good advice. However with mamasan/papasan having very low or no base salary, I believe there is a need to tip them something on an ongoing basis, but to adjust it based on the effort they put in. So a very small tip is O.K. for just 5 minutes of their time.

I do understand that what people tip is dependent on their social customs, their budget, and finally whether they are generous or not.I personally would rather tip nothing than offer a measely 100 Baht tip for the girl after a good session. The difference between a great session and a very ordinary session is worth a hell of a lot more to me than $4 (home currency).I don't want to waste my time having ordinary sessions which is why I prefer to repeat with girls that are good.Even though 100 Baht can buy something to eat, I would not like to get a "stingy" image. So its either a good tip or nothing. It helps really put me into the "preferred customer" class. I usually give the papasan 100 Baht tip just for a few minutes of service, if I know him well, so that he will feel like looking after me well. Sometimes just 50 Baht if papasan wasn't very relevant. On a rare occasion I have even given a papasan 200 for extraordinary service like finding out when the girl will be working, making a booking and calling back to set the time etc. i.e. really helping get me set up with a top girl.Obviously if everyone tipped the papasan generously, then he would be making big money. But obviously not everyone does.But just bear in mind that the papasan and waitresses in Soapies usually get no salary as such and rely purely on tips. But if getting advice on a girl, its best to tip the papasan afterwards based on him giving good information or nothing if he recommended a crap girl.So far I find that its very rare for some girl to act very lazy when she is expecting a good tip but knows the size of the tip is dependent on her performance.

Tried out the Nuru-Nuru massage at Colonze 2. I had to go early due to a business meeting, and at 2pm the lineup consisted of exactly one sideliner and one girl in the bowl. I waited a bit, and Papasan Leon finally recommended No 23, Day, for Nuru-Nuru.In the room, they brought in the smallish stool that defines Nuru-Nuru together with the transparent seaweed gel that is mixed with water and really glides fantastically. The session was pretty good. Day isn't overly pretty (6-7) but has am nice round butt and is eager to please. Bj goes deep and has the trademark Japanese slurp. I don't have any oilies experience, only soapies.You pay a fishbowl girl 1900-2000thb, of that the girl gets 1000thb. A sideliner costs 2500-2600thb, of that the girl gets 1200-1300thb. All in all, it's about a 50-50 split. If there is a farang surcharge, again it's a 50-50 split, generally. This is what the girls tell me.For poor service, I do not tip, and it's pretty rare that I don't. I tip 300-500thb in general, usually 500thb, 1Kthb on very rare occasions. So a trip to my local soapie will cost around 3000thb, a bit more if I count the tips for the papasan or mamasan and the drinks girl and the 20thb for soap lady.For me this is the best value, as BFing a girl ST costs around 4000thb in total, plus taxi money. We wish - in actual fact the pound is at the weakest it has been for years. One pound only gets you 55 baht whereas a year ago it was nearer 70. Its the Americans who are laughing at the moment with the dollar being so strong.
