Depending on the shop some ladies have to pay a nominal (200 baht) daily fee to work whether or not they get a customer and then pay an additional charge (200 baht) for use of the facility for each customer they do get. They also have to pay for all supplies like condoms, soap, oil and tissues. If they are late or miss a day they have to pay the shop anywhere from 1000-5000 baht depending on the day. For a one or two hour session (1900-2300) the ladies get paid 1300 of the charge. The fees and "fines" vary widely among different shops but this example is for a well known shop under the Thong Lo BTS. I know of a shop on Sukhumvit soi 8 that does not pay the ladies anything for the massage. They rely totally on the customer and if he doesn't want any extras she just wasted an hour or more. No tip, well she just worked for free. Its a lot tougher out there for the average lady than you think. However, some of the "superstars" can still make some serious money but burn out fairly quickly.

I know a couple of girls from the massage shops near Phrom Phong (Soi 24,24. 1 etc).

They all have to pay for all the condoms, tissues, oils, soap, mouthwash and everything else they use during a session with a customer. They get paid 1000 baht per session but don't have to pay a fee to work there. However, if they arrive late / leave early or miss a day of work there is a penalty fee, this also apply if the girls are sick. 500 baht per day that they don't work.

The shops also pay a lot of money to the police. Between 20.000 and 40.000 baht per week depending on the mood of the policeman that week.

Things like this is the hardest for me to understand about Thai culture.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll steer clear of Club 102 for the rest of my life (and the next). I seem to remember less than glowing reviews for this parlor a while ago, but man.
