No the 1700 room is vastly better, not slightly better. The tip is not mandatory but as I know the girl will get less than 1 K, I tip her for good service.

Stills works out cheaper than an Oily, if you tip say 300 Baht. This is the cheapest option I have been using although I know I can get cheaper with free lancers, where I would have to pay for ST Hotel as well. At an Oily I would be up for 1.5K plus massage fee plus any tip or an all inclusive price definitely higher than 2K.

On the contrary it works out to be very good value for me. I could get a quickie bang on the normal couches for less but I prefer to take my time in comfort and have the showering facilities.

There do exist ultra cheap Soapies, but girls were too ugly last time I looked a few years back.

BJ bars aren't massage parlors so probably this discussion should be in the Bangkok forum but here's my take on Kasalong. I went there at about 9 or 10 PM and the girls were rough. One huge fatty grabbed hold of me and tried to drag me in, which I hate. I was so convinced that this place was full of gorgeous young girls (because of reviews I'd read), and so desperate to get away from this aggressive fatty that I took a girl I would never normally take. She was the youngest and the slimmest but still fat and too old. Inside the bar I saw one other guy drinking with a girl who looked like a tranny. Upstairs I didn't see or hear any sign of anyone else being around. This makes me wonder where all these cuties are that I keep reading about. I saw no signs of them being busy with other customers. The first explanation I can think of is that the clientele of BJ bars have very low standards (no offence) and regard a chubby 30-something as a 'stunning young girl'. Another possibility is that there are a couple of cuties who may or may not be around when you arrive. Either way the aggressive attitude and begging for tips is a real turn off for me. If 800 baht is not enough for them then they should increase the prices rather than begging for tips. If the price is any higher then I see no value in these places compared to massage parlors.
