I duly visited the "Park" this week.

Up to a dozen girls around, but very poor quality. Mainly old or fat, and one who looked rather sick.

Wrong park for sure.

You're looking for the area North and South of the Ya Mo statue.

It's not a park anymore, but people still call it the garden ("suan").

Klang Mall is right next to it and so is the temple with the domed roof.

Went to the Park in Khorat today with great expectations after reading the comments on this thread. At 2PM on a Friday, all I saw were a couple of gardeners and a few stray dogs. The place was completely deserted. Do I have the right park? I went to the big one that has a 3 or 4 kilometer bike / jogging path around a big lake. Maybe I went at the wrong time.

The Poh Tong is closed as is the restaurant below it (the one with the monumental views of the girls crossing the street.)

The restaurant is now a supermarket.

Strange- In Pitsanulok a restaurant on the edge of the busstation is also turned into a supermarket!

The prices of theSakhol Korat are B150 fan and B400 A / C.

Another reasonable option is the Sri Rat at B160 fan. Most of the hookers go here for their business. I however find the staff a little too nosey and I prefer to skip this option.

The Cathay is a horrible place. You know, keep your shoes on at all times kind of horible.

Check your soles for spent condoms before leaving!

I still find what I want at the park (or in my phone's memory.) , hence I don't check out other places around town.

Great to know sakhol korat don t increase their rooms price. I usually stay in sri rat hotel, it a good place because many girls loitering the reception, or come for using restroom. The terrace on the top floor offered a good view on the park and it s really refreshing place at night. Bad point the room service is non existent and I seldom the comments (in thai) of the night auditor if you re farang. Anyway the morning staff is really nice (if you do it with discreetion) prices haven t change since 2002!

I never like cathay it was overpriced for the 180 bath required despite the fact some working park girls live in the place. The worst is probably the pho tong near the monument place.

In 2008 you mentioned a place near the" second" train station (the one behind the city hall) but I never find girls here during day or night time. Any fresh news about the place?

In keeping with the general inflation that is going on in Thailand at the moment, some girls have upped their price range from B200-300 to B300-500.

It's mainly the new faces. Some actually very (!) pretty. Who can only say "fi-hundled". And that's about all the Prasat Angrit they can handle.

Fortunately I can rely on my pool of park ladies who kittung & rak me too much and will still go for B300 or less.

However, I have to tread carefully as to not make anyone lose face. Go to hotel seperately and NEVER discuss prices or quality / service with anyone at all ever! I must have done well, because two girls asked me why I "never take lady'"!

In Korat and also nearby Buriram, the scene was extremely quiet during the week from Christmas til New Year. Last week suddenly it became much better. But by the, of course, I had to pack and leave.

Prices still rise in 2008 when more and more farang in need of exotism come to khorat, they ever bothered housewife watching their kids playing in the park. I had notice new cute face in the park, but girls carreer in the park are often very short, if the girl is looking better than others.

Anyway I have some old park girls regular in khorat always happy to take care of me for 200/300 baths.

I also do like you Freeler, I go first and said to the girl to come 5/10 minutes after me, giving her my hotel name and room number. Yes it s very important to be discreet if you like changing girls very often. ;

About quality and service I just asked them" if they smoke" nothing less. ;

With khorat girls park speaking some thai is very helpfull for avoid misunderstanding.

Am looking for something quite central in Korat - and I really dont care all that much about fancy things in the hotel itself as I don't plan to do much more than sleeping there.

Have considered Sripatana (650 baht / night), but haven't really seen any good reviews of the place. A plus would be to get away cheaper than that though

Slept in Sripana in june/july, 'cause K.S. Pavillion was full. We had different types of dead and living insects in the room and beds. The rooms are old and not clean. stuff is friendly, but in some situations helpless.

Clean, cheap, pool half in the sun - half in the shadow. Breakfast poor. Hotel complex is about 80 m back from the main street, so you'll get sleep.

I think I've said some things about Korat in the 'Isaan' section. I may not have noticed there was a separate Korat section.

I was there a couple times in the last year, and I saw there were still a lot of girls near the park (though they seemed to stick mainly to the streets near it, perhaps due to getting busted), all fairly mediocre looking. I didn't take any (though in past years when I did they were mostly unpleasant). I also visited a few of the soapies in town over the last year and they were ok, but expensive at 1,500-1,800 mostly. Oh and there are a few higher end girls (maybe 1,000 baht?) with pimps near that big hotel downtown, sort of near the small downtown mall and opposite Ginza soapy. I can't remember the name of that hotel.

Really I can't recommend this town from my own experiences. If you come as far as a Korat trip you might as well make it a Khon Kaen/Udon Thani trip instead. Check out my and other's reports on those two towns, both far superior to Korat - Khon Kaen if you have a larger budget, Udon Thani for the more impecunious.
