Yes I'm still in Moldova, I didn't go to Lava that night, I went to Deja Vu, I got drunk and stupid and went to a strip club after, I had only 1 drink and the bill was 6, 000 Lei, I refused to pay, asked for the Manager, there was an Egyptian guy who is working there, he was advising me to pay, I insist they call the police, I had the bill with me, when the police arrived I showed them the bill, the police took me home, and they didn't even ask for my passport, they didn't take money, they only took a bag for nuts that I insisted that he take it after he asked me if it was American.

I know about this Egyptian guy. He is all the time in Stefan Cel Mare hunting for foreign men and proposing the striptease club as a place where is full of friebies.

I never went there and I think I will not after reading this.

I've read back through about 15 pages, and found a lot of useful information. Thanks to everyone who has posted their opinions and experiences. What little I did know of Chisinau is outdated, so this forum has probably saved me some future embarrassment.

I'll be in Chisinau mid September, my first time there and I'm on a tight budget, so I'm just going to relax and see what happens. Hopefully my charm and funny accent will be enough to get some attention. It usually works, but only because they can't understand what I'm saying.
