I might be coming later this autumn but would only go for the "pleasure" as Moldova has got no business opportunities in my area. Bigger CIs countries like Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan have been the most gracious to me when it came to both freebies and high quality, low price girls. Moldova on the contrary has been a text book of rip-off to the extent where I had to check my own sanity.

Oh yeah and watch out, a lot of girls in the internet there ask for money.

And almost all p4p there (if you even manage to meet one) will try to steal your money.

They use trick like when they go to your apartment they start using internet for 10-20 minutes and they say time is over.

2 girls did that to me.

So what I did is I had my apartment owner calling the police just to make sure that it is the real police and not some people trying to rob me.

Then the second police officer came, I open the door.

Then there is of course no conversation, nobody speak English, I have no idea what they told me.

But the girl was hidding outside, and at some point she came and talked I don't know what, but I think at a moment she gave up and said to the police everything is good haha.

So they all left. But it was a crazy night.

Anyway! Tiraspol stay away.

Have you tried Transnistria? I didn't like Chisinau that much. The people in Transnistria are friendlier and more natural and receptive to tourists.

You should go to Transnistria. There is an American who lives there and owns a hostel. Real friendly guy who will show you around and help you with EVERYTHING you need.

I am considering Ukraine (Russian part) for my next trip. It will be a long stay 2-3 months (meeting regulars and enrolling in Russian classes)

What are the options and costs for renting an apartment from locals in Ukraine.

Without sounding like a mega snob, I prefer a proper apartment or hotel to a hostel. For the very same reason places like Transnistria are not my flavour of the day as the concept of being in a place run by a guerilla does not increase my belief in the rule of law. If I was to consider going there I would need a bit more insight on what your experience has been in detail, in particular were you able to catch any freebies, etc. How is the P4P scene, etc.

Transnistria Tiraspol friendly?

Unless you speak English, you will not be able to communicate with 99% of people!

I have been in Russia and Ukraine many many times for years.

And they speak 100x more English there than in Tiraspol.

And the girls friendly?

I do not think so, I was in the club, no girls were looking back at me, and when I approached a girl and tried to give her a drink, I asked if she speaks English she was like "No no no no"
