1) is the ferry from Bangkok the best way to reach kou samui? (cost effective perhaps?) . I could take a plane but I'd miss the ferry views I guess.

Cheap flight to Surat Thani, from Bangkok. And then to take bus+ferry. Bus from BKK is not so comfortable, and not much cheaper.
Regarding sightseeing: I prefere Kho Phangan, East coast. A bit like Samui 20 yrs ago :-) You might take a ferry from Samui.
You _might_ score Western Girl during the (in)famous Full Moon Party on Phangan.

So many Farangs bring their wives or girlfriends to Samui that there isn't a big market for lady bars, even if the island is jammed. Thete just aren't that many single males.

In Samui last fall, Chaweng had yet to recover from no tourism during covid. A lot of it derelicted. Lamai was less bad, but almost no bargirl scene.

March 2022 the whole island was dismal, Chaweng perhaps 10% of normal tourists, Lamai perhaps at 20%. November 2022 both areas seemed to be at about 50%. By March 2023 Chaweng was probably 80% and Lamai was at 100% or above pre COVID business. Yes, Lamai seemed to be more busy in March 2023 than February 2020, including the bar girl scene. But remember, few hotties available on Samui.

These numbers are based on my eyeball observations, I have no solid data from hotels or restaurants.

Hostels sukk. Too many lowlifes and cheapskate people.

If you go one way by ferry Don Sak Pier-SuratThani: on the fast ferry there are no views. The big ferry is a relaxing and scenic several hours, but it is very slow.

Hello. I'm travelling to Thailand mid June. It will be my third trip there; I have already been to Bangkok and phuket. Not a big fan of tourist. This will be a solo trip. Planning to monger and also do some sightseeing. I plan on spending 3 days in Bangkok post that I intend on going to koh samui. Heard a lot of good stuff about it. Could someone advise.

(1)I fly from BKK to Samui, price is not too terrible. I don't know of a direct ferry from Bangkok to Samui, if it existed it would be 450 km (about 12-20 hours). You probably mean a "bus plus ferry" option. The bus takes you from Bangkok to somewhere in Surat Thani, maybe a different bus to the Don Sak pier, then a ferry to Samui. I've never done the bus system, it's probably 15 hours. I have twice ridden the SeaTran ferries, nice ride. I've heard horror stories about the Raja ferries, so I avoid them.

(2) 3 days sounds about right for the Samui touristy stuff. Mongering is normally easy in both Chaweng and Lamai Beach, but there are never a lot of hotties. I keep in touch with 2 Samui P4P girls and they both went home in April because of too few customers. Don't expect to find many good P4P options.

(3) Can't help you with hostels, you can get a decent Samui hotel with breakfast in June for 1600 baht or less. You can find some under about 1000 baht if you don't need to be on the beach.

(4) During high season here are often European girls traveling with friends, but I've never seen any European or African P4P girls on Samui. I'd guess that 70% to 90% of the Samui P4P girls are Thai. The other 20%-30% are a mix of Lao, Vietnamese, and other Asian nationalities. Last visit I did about 7 overnight sessions with a 24 year old Lao girl, she was great but she is back in Laos now. Most of the Samui P4P girls look over 40, very few look under 25.

I was in that area a few days ago and didn't notice that bar, but the Facebook post is months old and bar ownership and ladies change quickly. I'm on Samui now and was here in December, I recognize very few of the same women.

I'm mostly in Lamai, which works better for me than Chaweng. There are hundreds of bar girls to see, but only about 20-30% are doable and about 5% are of a quality that could get customers at the Nana Plaza go go bars. The hotter bar girls tend to get bar fined before about 2100 and they tend to prefer all night sessions, so I suggest starting early.

I've called 3 TF girls over the past 2 weeks and all arrived on schedule. One was exactly as expected from TF, one was much worse than expected, and one was much better than expected.

Average doable bar girls tend to ask for about 1500 baht short time. The best looking girls ask for 2000 short time. I assume the many uglies ask for less than 1500. Bar fines run between 300-1000 ST. Several places do not allow bar fines to start until late at night, even though they want you to pay the bar fine early in the night. So if you pay your bar fine at 22:00 you might end up sitting there buying drinks for 2 hours before she can go with you. Not all bars have the same rules, so be sure to know when the girl can leave before you pay the bar fine.

Has anyone been to The Lady Bar? A girl I know from Pattaya works there now and posts pictures on her social media. The other girls look pretty good, might be worth checking out.

This area is back to life, similar activity to a few weeks before COVID.

Typical bar girls are of similar beauty to those at beer bars around Nana Plaza. However, there are a few girls that are worthy of working at the better bars of Nana Plaza. It might take some searching, but there are enough pretty girls so you can find one for you, even a few under 30. One warning, the pretty girls tend to disappear early and not return. When I make a date, I never discuss LT vs ST, I want ST but they usually offer to stay LT.

Bar fines are low, think 300 baht if you buy a LD or 500 baht if no lady drink. Girls are asking 800 to 1200.

The massage places scattered around town are a mixed bag of standard massage and those that offer special services. If you walk to the north across the creek, there is a cluster of about 6 special massage shops. There are a few lookers in that cluster.

Lamai Beach is a location where you could BYO or find on site.

I've been told that options in Chaweng are better than Lamai, but I've also been told the opposite. Should I decide to head there, I'll make a report.

I have always found Chaweng to be better.

There are more places for one, it has younger girls, and it is also the place that the freelancers on the island congregate to as it has more punting tourists and it has Hooters, Hard Rock (closed), Green Mango, Hush and The Black nightclub, amongst other larger bars and places. Tho if you are getting ST for 800 baht at Lamai, that is a way better rate than you will find in Chaweng.

Back from Koh Samui. The island goes back to life, good flow of tourists, specially in Cheweng, already widely described here.

Once tired of the 'message' booths with their usual treat, I went to discover The Resort, which seems to be the one and only 'classic' brothel on the island.

It is situated 4 to 5 kms from Bo Phut, and located in GMaps. The sign on the road called 'Happy Inn'. Rather than a 'Resort', the place looks more like a provincial motel in Brazil. Only more run-down.

I enter through the wide-open glass door, and first come across a tiny Burmese employee, her face covered in white argile mask. Scream like.

She accompanies me to a tatty karaoke lounge. The official activity seems to be karaoke nights. Then comes the tea lady, a Sino-Thai, not too graceful.

Ratecard (I got a discount of 500 be each time), 1 hour service:

3500 be: standard room, aircon, 1 girl.

4500 be: room with large bathroom, aircon, 1 girl.

5500 be: idem with 'a star from Bangkok' I. E. Girls with bigger breasts.

5/6 girls come together, phys. Say 6 to 8, rather young but one. I opt first for Kuhn, 30 yo. Takes care of me in the bath with a rather repetitive technique. We continue in bed, etc. , I won't give details. Pretty girl, easy-going, but fairly average performance.

I went back another day with Macha, a 'BKK star'. She knows how to use its main asset; otherwise she was rather disappointing.

I did not go back a third time. The lack of communication, the coldness of the place, it all was lacking fun. Or maybe I'm getting old? We'll see about that the next time I go to Brazil!

I forgot to mention in my last post.

FWIW, my Isan FL has a friend that receives 30-40 K THB a month from a Euro guy. Evidently she remains faithful to him. BTW, she's not a looker. I met her. Probably in her 20's. Nice bod. Cute face but has acne. She's from Isan. Euro guy visits infrequently. I'm unsure of how long this relationship has been going on.
