A nice facility along with gorgeous Chicas with rooms that are clean with a nice shower with hot water in them is what I personally enjoy. I do love TJ and appreciate the businesses that do a good job such as HK, AB, and even the CC is decent, I must try Las Chevalia's to see what their rooms are like.

Chevalas and Hong Kong both use Hotel Cascadas for arribas. So if you've taken a girl upstairs from Hong Kong, you know what the room are like.

Here's what I would do if I ran the Chicago Club. I'd spend a small amount of money to improve the abysmal lighting. Then I'd invest heavily in attracting the hottest girls.

The lighting is sort of done by design. Everyone looks better in the dark. I agree Chicago takes that unofficial rule of strip clubs too far, but when you're dealing with a bunch of Chicago girls, turning up the lights isn't going to help your cause. I tend to try and see a prospective chica in better light -- either by the bar or when they're on stage than the ones that hide in the dark. There's a reason they're hiding in the dark.

I concur that the typical Norteamericano who visits the Zona Norte prefers a club with upscale facilities and furnishings to a dark dive bar like the Chicago Club.

But guys don't visit the Zona Norte for the decor. They come to get laid. And when it's time to head for the hotel they want to go with a hot girl.

I enjoy the Hong Kong Club as much as the next guy. But after I pay top dollar for my beer, fend off greedy waiters, and then cast my gaze upon a selection of underwhelming chubby girls interested only in my cash I sometimes think I'm in a San Diego strip club. I'd gladly give up the laser light show and futbol on the big screens in exchange for a better selection of girls.

Here's what I would do if I ran the Chicago Club. I'd spend a small amount of money to improve the abysmal lighting. Then I'd invest heavily in attracting the hottest girls.

I'd start by reducing the amount of money they have to kick back to the club by lowering the ficha quota and increasing their cut of the drinks they sell. I'd be more flexible about hours and shifts. For the stunners I might even consider paying them to show up, provided they agreed to stay in circulation instead of parking themselves at a table for hours. I suspect there are some gorgeous but mercenary girls who currently work at the Adelita Bar who'd jump at the chance to get paid to show up and who would not have a problem staying in circulation. Finally I'd improve the girls creature comforts to make their time at the Chicago Club as pleasant as possible.

I suspect the reason this doesn't happen is that the other club owners would have a fit. I theorize that even though they compete with each other to attract customers, they present a unified front in the battle between management and labor. Any owner who stepped out of line and started being nice to the girls would probably find himself the cynosure of opprobium.

Places that don't upgrade their facilities will run into the ground and close up, two years max. Other new bars are under construction. Hopefully even fancier than Hong Kong Club.

It wasn't the drug dealing. It was because of bad management. CC came into new management a few years back and everything went down hill from there.

I'm going over the books in my head, and I still can't figure out how this club stays open with its small clientele.

The girls would be there at noon if that was when the guys are there.

They don't float in until later because that's when the guys show up. The guys don't show up earlier because a) mongering tends to be a nocturnal activity and b) there's no one there earlier (specifically with Chicago).

I'll usually skip the walk over to Chicago before 1030 or so because it there's no girls there. On some nights when I'll go to Chicago for a quiet drink in solitude, there are no customers and no chicas. And on nights when the A-list girls are there early they're bored to death because there's no customers to buy drinks or go arriba with. I've been there a few times when a girl like Stefani will go on stage to dance but will quit after one song because she's not making any money.

Chicago has a happy hour but they'd probably need to extend that until 10pm and promote that so that the early bird mongers know about it. Then the girls will be happy to show up because there would be guys there. If Chicago continues to punish the hot girls they do have with this shit, the girls will work elsewhere. In fact, I'd bet some of those turned away the other night didn't go home, but rather to another club.

I've had regulars that worked at the three major clubs. Some liked Chicago because it wasn't full of rules like AB and HK. My one amiga wanted to just drop in and work one night at AB but to work on Saturday, you have to work on Friday type things. And for a good looking chica at Chicago you can be a belle of the ball, whereas at AB you're just another one of many.

I agree, and it's a chicken and egg thing. No chicas, no customers. No customers, no chicas. I don't blame management for trying to enforce some promptness, but they really have to hold up their end by convincing guys to wander across the street and spend money.

I remember when CC used to have a small but reasonable selection in the afternoons. Those were the days! And nights were SRO.

I really hated to see biz drop off the way it has, because it was my fave club out of the big 3.

I've had several tell me of the 12 hours shifts. I used to know one who lived upstairs, and she told me she worked every day. She took off a day here and there. So, I assumed it was for 5, maybe 6 days a week. But that part was an assumption. If you have the option of working 3 or 4 days a week, then it wouldn't be so bad.

Simple. They are *supposed* to work an 8-hour shift.

Back in the day, the girls would come and go as they pleased. They'd show up, do an arriba or two, then go home. Of course, that left nobody in the bar when it got late.

So, they started enforcing the shifts and the bar had girls at all hours.

I understand why they are enforcing the rule; they're probably tired of missing out on any potential "early" trade. By early I mean from, say, 8 to 11.

It remains to be seen, however, whether or not it will backfire in this soft economy. Maybe all the chicas will get pissed off and move to AB or HK. But, as those two places are so different from CC, I think the chicas will just start showing up on time. AB's shifts are brutal, and the competition is fierce. HK requires the chicas to be a lot sleazier, and, again, the competition is fierce. So, unless they have the personality to work in a HK or AB, I think they'll just start showing up on time.
