Sure. I can't speak for the rest of Paraguay- there are some places (CDE, or border areas) that might be kinda dangerous. Asuncion itself is extremely safe. For such a poor country, there were surprisingly few panhandlers. A lack of criminal-looking types in general- it seemed everyone was just going about their business, I was pretty much ignored the whole time. I would go as far to say it is too HOT to commit crime here, people walk around real slow, like trying to save energy. Walked around up to 2am (only downside to this- streets get deserted around 10pm) with no problems. Two different kinds of police, everywhere- I saw lots of foot patrols, even at night.

I can't recommend Paraguay for anything other than eco-tourism. There isn't shit to do in ASU- NOTHING. There's some yellow fever going around at the moment. If you have a mind to see some of the nature stuff, get vaccinated before you go.

Besides all that in the rural areas there is still Dengue fever alert. So make sure you put on muskito repelant if you go there. In the larger cities there is NO hazzard for yellow fever or dengue.

AFAIK the yellow fever is no longer present or under control. Anyway it would be wise to get a shot against yellow fever if you visit PY.

At sundays the center of ASUNCION indeed is very very very BORING!

This website is a collection of girls that work in various casas around Asuncion. The phone number listed should ring that particular casa- then you can ask for a certain girl. You're gonna need to speak decent spanish; the local inflection is spoken very quickly and difficult to hear (for my ear anyway) virtually NOBODY I met in ASU spoken english. Fucking with the phone proved aggravating- so instead I just went directly to the casas myself (see WT69's list)

As to picture versus reality. Yes, the pics are real, but they are FAVORABLE shots. I wont go as far to say airbrushing, but you get to these places and find some chicas have droopy tits, bad skin, etc.. things that don't come out in glamour shots. I would say out of 10-15 chics I had, ONE matched her photo exactly, and was actually better in person.

The best (possibly only good) thing about ASU is the price is generally universal. Each casa quoted me the same rates: In-house, 60k half hour, 100k hour. At your hotel, 200k (no specific on time)

$20 a pop sounds great until you're all fucked out and need to find something to do, its boring as hell. Most of the time I wasn't fucking I spent hiding in my A/C hotel room from the oppressive high-90's heat. ASU is a 3-day destination, max.

The prices of the casas, go from 60. 000 to 150. 000, more than that is just a scam.

A girl on the streets will charge 50. 000 plus hotel. Motel, actually, that goes from 30. 000 (cheapest) to (luxurious)150. 000 and + Gs.

That all means that you have normally 20 bucks a *****. But I strongly recomend that you get your spanish right before comming. All the small price casas and nice hotels always try to charge more that $100 for a fuck, and that is just nuts!

Not gringo friendly seems to be a good way to put it. But negotiating skills will get you the best for less.

i'm paraguayan and work at least 10hs a day, plus, i'm married, so its difficult for me. anyhow, i tried one of those newspaper adds (www.abc.com.py) clasificados section, then "recursos humanos", "belleza", "masajes terapeuticos", and then selected one of those "vip massages" from a "peluqueria". though i arrived late, there was a nice girl who i chose, excelent tits, and it was amazing, for she was definitly new on the scene. she was very sweet and had a nice, tight body... it was expensive though... for paraguayan standards: aprox.u$40. but since i've got trouble finding really discrete places, that was the only place i found what i was looking for at the moment.
