My wife is Korean also. We have been legally separated since 2005 but are still living together. She told me she wouldn't divorce me because it would make me too happy. The woman is crazy!

I'm in the same boat as you are YM! Married to, but separated (wishing it was legally) from, a Korean. I've been trying to get her to do a separation agreement since I moved out in 2005, so I can avoid all the expenses of a full blown fight in court. The problem is the crazy b*tch won't make up her mind about things, and put it on paper. She keeps e-mailing to say she wants to do it the quick and easy way, but refuses to go to the FREE legal service on the military base!

I don't have a lot to loose. We are joint owners of a house in Texas. But that is really the only thing of value that we have. I just don't want to be ordered to be paying her half (or more) of my paycheck. However, I am getting more and more irritated with the idea that she won't cooperate on the separation agreement/uncontested divorce idea. I'm ready to contact the lawyers and just file and accept what happens.

Anyone know a good lawyer in Texas (or a good hit man in Korea)?

I've been in Dubai 7 years and I know many Filipinas - I've had a few Filipina GFs in that time (and a couple of them on the side now). I don't think they are any more racist than other nationalities. But they are into fun with anyone, just like any other girl who is overseas and away from the constraints of family and friends.

PS - Goodenough - agreed. I have a cute Filipina maid, but I don't touch her, for obvious reasons. Some of her friends have flirted with me, but I play straight. No need for the hassle.

Have to disagree with you on this one filipina are more racist in this sense, if you are black and go to lets say vietnam or china. The chances of you getting any play, even if you have money with something young and hot is slim to nill even with pro girls, and just foreget about it with non pro girls. Filipina will hook up with you regardless of what you look like etc.. as long as you got money and a ticket out of there. When they get to u.s. their hatred becomes apparent,, thats two face. With respect to families etc.. I think its easier to get into the knickers of filipina and thai girls that are non working girls than just about any other asian girls. Its a cultural aspect, most filipina family will offer you their daughter cherry if they think its her ticket out of PI, not so with many other cultures.

I do not live like a rock star though I did when I first came here. Actually, while here in Davao, I have a pretty normal life and I do not fool around. However, I travel often, both around Mindanao, and in Manila, and that's when the urge to sample whatever is out there kicks in and I indulge myself.

I know this is going to sound bizarre, but when you actually live here, grabbing a different woman every night month after month gets old in a hurry. I did that for the first six months or so that I was here and got tired of it. So now I've found a modus vivendi that works well for me.

If I was living in PI or any other country where my dollar goes a long way and the girls are hot and easy. I just couldn't resist too many women and the hormones raging. I could easily get a divorce, but not without loosing part of my pension, giving up a large chunk of my income per month for alimony, and continuing to pay for her health insurance. It's really a lifestyle issue for me. Do I want to live like a pauper just to be rid of her ass? I don't think so! I just tolerate her and continue to do my own thing.

As an old white guy I guess I better stay here where attracting younger Filipinas is never a problem, rather than going back to the states to face rejection. I have more the body of the football than the football player, and though I might get taken for 50ish, I'll sure never be able to pretend I'm younger than that. I guess here in the Philippines the expectation that you have money and may be able to offer them a visa more than compensates for the age and physical stature. Think I'll stay here.

With respect to discrimination, filipina often discriminate on the same line that Indian people do if not more so. Here what I've notice about filipina living in america, not all but the ones that still speak english with the accent. They will discriminate against their own people if you are from the province and you don't speak tagalag. If you are filipino and you are dark they don't like that they say its dirty. Actually, I've been corresponding with a light skin filipina on DIA and she refers to this a lot "you know the dark people who work outside they look dirty". If you are filipino and you speak english at work instead of tagalag, they don't like you. If you are black forget about it. If you are asian they are somewhat ok with that but you have to be really good looking americanize and have $$$. If you old white guy forget about it no matter how much money you have. Even if they are old they want someone looking younger than they are, preferably blond and blue eyes pale skin but will settle for cute hispanic guy. Many will only date whites though. Its almost an inferiority complex issue. Of course this is just what I've seen in the hospitals that I've worked for. Keep in mind that we are talking about filipina that haven't been living in the u.s. for decades upon decades and there always exception to the rule, but in general they are like this.

I'm surprised too at DW's conclusions, though I do not doubt his experience for a second. I've only been to Dubai once, and I've only met a couple of Filipinas who work there, and I didn't get that impression. Then again, our meetings were short and I wanted nothing from these women, nor they from me, so my impressions are probably not worth much.

I'm somewhat surprised too by the racism, as I've never seen it displayed here. I've been out on the town in Manila with black friends from Africa, and I didn't notice that they were treated any differently than I was. Is my sample too small, or are Filipinas normally racist?

I have been traveling to Dubai for the last 3 1/2 years every 3-4 months for business. I went with a Filipina friend to one her friends house to pick up a young Cebuana. They were angry with her when she brought me in the house. They said they thought I was an African but being an American I was OK. Met A Filipina on-line who was living there. We chatted for days on end. Never traded photos. I told hey I forgot tell you I am black. Right after she pulled a Bin Laden I never got another message.

Some time I look at them in the club you can see the disdain in their eyes. I have bagged a couple of them in Dubai but these are the type that will go with a damn martian if he had Dirhim in his pocket. Guys don't get the wrong outlook Dubai/Filipinas is a great place but there as I said you see the real them not the Peso/Visa seeking ones you find in PI who will go home with Papa Shango from WWF if given the chance.
