it is true that it is customary in chinese to wish to anybody taking a trip "Good Luck"
The meaning gets funny when it is in english as we just say "have a good trip", whilst the translation from chinese is probbaly "good luck"...

I think it's more like meanings lost in the translation. Some public signs with English translation makes one shake your head. Evidently, there are no westerners on the ad staffs.

this one was a 1/2 slavic russian 1/2 scond(???) I have no clue what she meant by the latter part of her heritage. She said something about Romania or Moldova. When I said Gypse she got pissed.

Many people refer to the Islamic character of Uzbekistan, but I personally can't agree to any of that for Tashkent.

Prosal think that I was in travel agency asking how much to flight to Tashkent and the woman there suggested me, if I will decide to go there, to not dress short paint and when I asked her, "where it is better I do not dress shorts? in Tashkent?"

She said, no, if you go to other city, in Tashkent you see even teenager with very short skirt

Never been there, but the feeling is so "muslim" as Ufa was.... only green colour in the flag LOL
