Massage Parlors, Skincare Salons – Prostitution Secretly Going On

In large cities of North Korea, motels, massage parlors and skincare salons have been established and prostitution has been going on secretly.

Trade worker Hwang says, “There has been an increase of places in Hamheung motels that also function as saunas or skincare salons. A Chinese style massage at a massage parlor is 10,000 won (around US$3.4) per 60 minutes and there is instantaneous prostitution with female masseuse.” It is told that prostitution goes on for about 20,000 – 30,000 won.

With North Korean bathhouses, a service culture to put women at the forefront has taken place. The owners here use jargons such as “selling a bed” or “selling flowers” to feel out a customer’s intention for prostitution. There are cases where women find private homes to prostitute themselves. Hwang says that because it is easy to make money through prostitution, there has been an increase of female prostitutes.

Previously, if prostitution was exposed, you would be sentenced to forced labor. Even now, the authorities ban prostitution. However, the reality is that related entities have secretly been increasing.

Ricky, The fact that you have seen no evidence is really irrelevant. The North Koreans are expert at suppressing it or refuting it. I could refer you to a number of books on North Korea and the main characters in this repressive regime so you could form your own opinion, but my sense is that you are not really interested, just antagonistic.

I don't think it is antagonistic to ask about evidence when you hear discussions like this. KJ is an unpopular leader whose support and influence outside his country is almost zero. There are plenty of people who want to slam him and no one to object so urban legends tend to outnumber facts. Some revel in the rumors but others don't.

The things which I recall as most concerning and clearly true about the guy with the funny hair that he did missile test which sent missiles out over Japan Japanese air space which is technically an act of war. North Korea also Kidnapped Japanese civilians. North Korea literally used small subs that ran off the shores of Japan and when the found people who were relaxing on the beach with no one around, they kidnapped them! There were a few dozen people captured and they were forced to live in North Korea for several decades. Kidnapping civilians is pretty unusual though some countries are know for it. Kidnapping folks at random is out there.

Beyond that I am sure you could get more by PM with someone from Japan or South Korea so check those boards. In the mean time let's just hope someone can sneak out a few pictures of the young beauties there.

Well, actually, I think you are referring to Kim Jong Il who may be a lot of things, but a homo he is not. He has, I believe, four women with whom he has fathered families and a 2000 strong young woman pleasure troupe. Absent this, he would probably be in the forum sharing mongering Q&A with us.

Why they are missing?

They're in prison. They attended the Asia Games in South Korea to support the NK team and, on their return, told people that things were pretty good in the South. This violated an oath NKers must take before traveling never to reveal what they have seen while abroad. AR
