The old saying is hoes make the best wifes. As far as you catching heat for your post I think it was a great story with a happy ending. I plan on doing the same to my chica in Nicaragua. After six years of steady mongering she beats all other women in my past hands down.

Now, I'm also not stupid. I know my wife, and more importantly I know women. There's NO doubt in my mind she calculated every move we made. She knew she would get her green card, she knew I was stable financially although far from well off, and she knew I was a good man. Clearly she weighed allot of her options / benefits when she dropped her life in Mexico for me. But truth is; all women think the same way. They all expect financial stability in a relationship.

Again; I hope nobody reads this and runs off to their favorite thinking about love! I had to be VERY careful the first 6-months in my relationship, and watch every move she made until I could trust her, and then I always wondered "is this a confidence game for her." It was really two years in to our relationship I knew she was in it for the long haul. I got laid off and was broke. I mean broke. Spent all my pension, everything. That woman stepped right up, and carried us financially for over a year. It was then I knew she was for real. And of course the wedding. She wept when I proposed to her. It was truly a dream come true for her. Someone truly wanted her as a wife, not an hour.

All in all it has been a good life with her. I think there were just the right stars aligned when I met her. It just kind of happened. It wasn't like I pursued it or intended for it to happen. We just grew on each other.
