It's true about the mood-killing of dickering. That's why I differentiate between negotiating and haggling. You shouldn't approach it as a war, trying to squeeze every last peso out of the deal. I just do some friendly give-and-take. "$60? Oooh, muy caro. <smile> Soy pobre. No tengo, etc., etc." All in good fun. It usually results in anywhere from $10 - $20 off the asking price. It certainly doesn't seem to reduce the service. And, they often get some of it back in tips, if things go really well. After all, this is Mexico. Everybody negotiates for everything. "Up-front negotiating" is no different from paying right there before anything goes on.
Ok, you are giving her the money afterwards, but I don't think you've noticed at the end it is done on her terms, not yours.
If it would be on your terms, it would be any amount you establish for any time limit you say.

Negotiating is just that. Not just accepting whatever the girl offers and running upstairs. They all quote $60, for instance, but I rarely pay that cuz I negotiate (not haggle).

I alway establish the amount of time I want, up front. If she doesn't want to, she walks. It's a free and open exchange. The price is the same way. I want to pay $0. She wants $500. We meet somewhere in the middle, nearer my number than hers. Again, free and open exchange. If my max price is too low, she walks. And vice versa. But this is done in advance, to prevent "misunderstandings" later. It may not be 100% my terms, but the terms are mutually agreed upon.

However, the transaction isn't complete until everything is finished. And that's where my terms DO apply. You certainly wouldn't hire a contractor to paint your house, then pay him up front. You lose all leverage, and probably wind up with a non-painted house. The same goes for the girl. She's now "contracted" to provide a service. When the service is provided, she gets the money. No service, no money.

So, I would assert that the transaction was conducted based upon mutually-agreed-upon terms, but that payment was made based upon my terms. Then everybody is happy.

I think you were fortunate that the session went well. There seem to be a lot of stories about really crummy sessions where the guy paid up front.

My theory is that one should never pay up front cuz once the money changes hands you lose 100% of any advantage you may have. She can go starfish, refuse to perform, leave early, etc., and there's nothing you can do about it.

I've had many insist on money up front. After politely refusing a few times, if they still insist, I'm the one grabbing my pants and heading for the door. And I've never had one let me walk. If they were to let me walk, I would figure that it wasn't going to be any good anyway, and that there are, literally, hundreds of other girls available.

hmm. actually, i think most girls figure it's for one pop, regardless of time remaining on the clock. it's probably best to make sure of that up front. i'm with you and i think that if you pay for an hour, you get an hour. but a lot on the girls don't always share my views.
