Hi,
Does any one have or heard of any experiences at the hotel apartments.
Unfortunately dont have too much choices due to affordable vacancies at the reasonably nice hotels.
My left choices are:
Jormand or Fortune Suites
Have usually stayed in hotels so dont have any clue of these being GF?
Will definitely post FR ending the trip!
Have fun!

Hi guys, I am new to this site and have registered recently. I am a regular visitor since last 3 yrs to Dubai.
I stayed at Hyatt Regency last year in month of March and found it totally safe for mongering. I believe it is safe in a hotel to pay "Room Supplement" then taking risks and finding out other ways to avoid "walk of shame" or LE. I had a nice time for 3 nights all spent at premiere there itself. Quality place without any hassle of going to other places and wasting time in taxis.
All this is advised for a new comer to Dubai who is fully prepared to enjoy without any risks.
I am going next week on 24th Jan and have planned my stay at Crown Plaza & Raddison Deira for 2 nights each (Hyatt was unavailable) after going through immense amount of study on this site and knowing from fellow mongers. I will keep you informed with my latest experience. Planned to try out KUBU (when I am at Radisson) & Rattlesnake for a change along with Premiere which is my priority. Quality Stuff.

I am looking for budget style accomodation in Dubai (under $150 per night).
Is the Ibis GF?
Can you recommend other hotels in that price range that is? I am just looking for a clean room within reasonable distance of tourist and night spots.

I am due to stay there next week. Can anyone contribute anything re it.
I am assuming like its sister hotel the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Skeikh Zayed road bringing back companions wont be an issue.
I imagine it is not open long enough to attract its own bar scene and even if it did the ladies would be trying it on thinking people dont know any better but if anyone could add anything I'd appreciate.
Could anyone tell me how far out from town it is via taxi and also will getting taxis be an issue.
I do have the option of staying downtown but this hotel looks superb on the pictures and my friends are staying there so it suits
For my part I will right a detailed report on my trip while there and on my return.
I think it will be useful to many to get a tourist viewpoint on the scene in Dubai currently (albeit a tourist that knows what he is doing)
This board while a superb read is hard at times to follow for a tourist due to the number of regulars posting using acronyms and shortcuts eg jockeys (where is it what is it etc. it took me 2 days of reading the forum to find out about it

Has anyone any update whether the Ramee Royal (near Maktoum Bridge) is GF?
There was a report mid last year on Ramee Hotel, but not sure it is the same.Last edited by BionicMan; 01-12-08 at 10:26. Reason: renaming hotel correctly

Thinking about my next trip; does anyone on the forum have any experience of staying at the Park Hyatt and whether or not it is girl friendly? Any advice gratefully received
My experiences to date have been;
Hilton, Green
Taj, Green/Amber
Grand Hyatt, Amber/Red
Emirates Towers, pain in the rear end
Shangri-la, Green/Amber but the rooms are really pokey

I live in Marina, never experienced any problem with security. The girls in the coffee shop downstairs now when I am bringing somebody because I order croisssants (usually only bread) and they provided a detailed report including nationalitites) to miss A... besides that the only issue is that girls will put you in the idiot/with money cathegory and will assume that you will pay more.
