Have reviewed the dxb hotel thread for 2006, plus a search of "hotel" in the dxb thread (PAIN in the ass). Have tried to capture all hotel reviews from last year, and updated the hotel list.
As I was going through the threads, a number of things occurred to me:- DXB THREAD: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are going to comment on a hotel (plus, minus, good, bad, whatever), put the report (or a subset if it is an FR - YES, double post) in the HOTEL section. Just do a SHORT cut/paste. It will be appreciated. Hotel comments in FR's on the dxb thread are VERY time consuming to parse.
- DXB THREAD: A number of "went back to my hotel, had a good time" posts. Which hotel? And answer in the hotel section, please. Even if the hotel has been reported BEFORE as GF, it's always nice to have more recent confirmation - policies do change.
- HOTEL THREAD - mis-placed posts. FR's, and questions - not hotel questions, but where to find wg's (particularly one persistent "where are Indian/Paki girls"...). Again, a nuisance to parse. If you are going to ask a question, at least post in the correct thread.
- HOTEL THREAD - known hotels. Nothing like the "Is hotel ABC girl friendly?", when a simple search would provide the answer. Come on, how difficult is it to use the search function? I honestly think it'd be quicker to do the search than write the post.
- HOTEL THREAD - unknown hotels. This is my BIGGEST gripe. How can that be? Asking about an unreported hotel should be legit. Well, it is. But SOOOOO MANY "I'm coming to dxb next month, staying in Hotel XYZ. Is it GF?" THEN, no subsequent report about the experience. OK, so maybe SOME never made the trip, but I'm sure a lot did. So where is the "payback"? I'm sorry your question was not answered, but we don't know everything, and most residents are not that familiar with hotel policies. How difficult is it to provide something to the NEXT punter?

- 11/06...RED?.......Al Shams Residence (same as above?). Latest: punter telephoned, was told no girls allowed.
- 01/06...RED........Ambassador (sister hotel to Astoria). NOT girl friendly. Even tried bribing the securty guard to no avail!
- 11/06...GREEN.....Arabian Courtyard. Just opposite to Dubai Musium
- 11/06...GREEN.....Arabian Park.
- 12/03...GREEN.....Ascot Hotel
- 01/06...RED........Astoria Hotel. Police problems. Had been previously rated YELLOW: Extra 75dhs when you bring a guest. Latest report: original passport and levied a 100 Dh charge (which never appeared).
- 12/06...GREEN.....Avari Hotel. Photocopies of ID required at the desk for your personal nurse for the evening, no other limitations on numbers or timing.
- 06/05...YELLOW...Bin Suloom Plaza Appartments, Deira. Charged 50 dhs
- 07/05...RED.........Bin Suloom Plaza Suites (asked policy)
- 07/06...GREEN......Broadway Hotel, Diera
- 11/05...GREEN......Burj Al Arab. All the girl has to do is quote suite number. Guests are OK if you register them at reception.
- 01/04...GREEN......Capitol. It's slightly out of the way on Mina Road near Port Rashid
- 08/06...GREEN......Carlton tower. reception staff gave me no hassle
- 09/05...GREEN......Chelsea (new in the Mankhool area)
- 10/06...RED.........Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments, Diera. Hotel is dry, no bar. Large population of long bearded males. Not GF.
- 09/06...GREEN......Crowne Plaza. If the girl is coming to you, best meet in the lobby to avoid any problems.
- 03/06...YELLOW?...Dallas Hotel (used as ST hotel; day rate, NOT hourly), opposite the Admiral Plaza. GROTTY, but functional. Is GF but 100 Dh surcharge
- 01/06...GREEN.......Dar Al Sondos, operated by Le Meridien
- 01/06...RED?.........Desert Rose. Passport copy was required but no 'fee'. Very much an Indian run joint. not reccommended.
- 09/06...GREEN.......Dhow Palace, Bur Dubai. GF presuming you are booked properly (not cheap and single occupancy). I also had two come straight to my room without any hassles at all. Give it a solid green light, and a seven for location
- 09/05...GREEN.......Dubai Grand. "I'm 90% sure Dubai Grand is GF"
- --/--...GREEN........Dubai International Hotel Apartments (AKA Trade Centre Apartments) (appeared in hotel reference list).
- 01/04...GREEN.......Dubai Marine Beach Resort
- 11/05...GREEN.......Dusit Hotel (assumed friendly; wg's seen leaving in am)
- 09/06...RED..........Emirates Tower. Girl needs her ORIGINAL passport, 250 dhs guest charge (another reported 200 dhs guest charge)
- 02/04...GREEN.......Eureka Hotel Deira (off Rigga St). Great hotel as far as guest-friendliness, but would not stay there again due to distance from Bur Dubai, quality of rooms, lack of taxis in area
- 05/05...GREEN.......Fairmont
- 01/06...RED..........Fortune, (near Rigga Rd). Another 100 to get into the hotel. And a lot of talking for the reception to accept her passport copy. They insisted on the original, that she didn't have it with here.
- 11/05...RED.........Golden Sands serviced apartments: 3, 5, 10 at least. Not at all friendly. GS3 has camera in lift. GS5 fire escape is on CCTV too (someone found that out the hard way!). Can book "wife", but requires advanced notice; only practical if girl booked in advance for a few days. As a properly registered guest, girl would have access to room at any time, including when he was not there. He was leaving in the morning so had no worries.
- 07/06...RED.........Grand Hyatt (Deira - "old Hyatt, corniche"). Girl needs her ORIGINAL passport, 100 Dhs guest charge
- 07/06...RED?........Grand Hyatt, Creek Marina. There is no problem bringing in 'guests', provided they have their original] passport (photocopies will not do), and there is a 'guest' charge of 80Dh per guest

- 03/05...GREEN......Hilton Dubai Creek

- 11/06...YELLOW?...Hyatt Park Hotel. Additional cost and just standard copy of passport.
- 10/06...GREEN?.....Ibis Hotel. Latest: My Ibis room was so small, I really had a problem to open my (big Delsay) bag. Hotel does not cause any problem with female visitors. Previous (YELLOW): Concierge stated girl had to have a driving licence or ORIGINAL passport. When I brought her in, I avoided the lobby on the left and headed straight for the lifts on the right. No security, no concierge, no problems
- 05/05...RED..........Imperial Suites. NO NO NO!!!!!!! Guests not permitted.

- 03/06...GREEN......Jumeira Rotana, Satwa. Very girl friendly.
- 12/06...GREEN......JW Marriott
- 07/06...YELLOW?...Karama Hotel. Is GF, although ID is usually requested and a supplement payable if you are spotted taking the girl in.
- 10/03...GREEN.......Khaleej Palace. Downtown. 4 star, very user friendly
- 03/06...RED..........Kporte Inn Hotel. I rang up and visitors are not allowed. Not even short time occasional visitors for corporate entertainment. So overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 11/04...GREEN.......Le Merdien Fairways. Not to be confused with the main Le Meridien. By Chillis' restaurant and the car dealers.
- 12/06...GREEN.....Le Meridien Airport Hotel. No staff comments, no payment, even no registration. The doormen treat your guest as if she were your wife even thought she might be the 7th wife that week. The reception staff very discreet; don't even look up having spotted the situation as you arrived. Even the room service guys are polite and greet your guest when delivering ice etc.
- 09/04...GREEN.....Le Meridien Dar Al Sandos
- 09/04...GREEN.....Le Meridien Mina Siyahi (Seyahi)
- 09/04...GREEN.....Le Royal Meridien Resort Jumeriah Beach
- 12/06...GREEN.....London Crown. London Crown-1 (the bigger of the two London Crowns): four separate occasions, brought WG back. Three of them, we arrived in front, no one stopped us at the desk. Fourth time, I drove and parked in the garage (the doorman opened the garage entrance and no problems), and we walked up to the 1st floor (above the lobby) and the got the elevator to my floor from there.
- 10/05...RED........Marco Polo Hotel, Diera. Punter states is a definite RED.
- 03/06...GREEN.....Marriott
- 11/06...GREEN.....Marriott Executive Apartments. Ladies are asked for copy of passport but no hassles.
- 09/06...GREEN?....Madinat Jumeriah. Took a girl back without problems. Be careful of which room you get. You can only get to some rooms via a touristy canal-boat ride full of fellow hotel guests - the boat-ride of shame
- 11/06...GREEN.....Metropolitan Hotel, Diera.
- 04/06...GREEN.....Metropolitan Hotel, Sheik Zayed Road. really guest friendly. Rattlesnake bar (attached to hotel) has a number of P4P choices.

- 10/06...GREEN......Novotel World Trade Center. Asked girls for identification
- 01/06...GREEN......Number One Tower Suites. Sheikh Zayed Road near to Shangri La. They just ask for a copy of the girl's passport sometimes.
- 09/06...RED?........Orchid Hotel. During Ramadan, front desk clerk stopped us and asked for her passport. She had only a photocopy and no visa page. He refused her entry and refused 100 Dhs gratuity
- 11/05...GREEN......Palm Hotel. Near Amnesia/Hard Rock
- 12/06...YELLOW...Panorama Hotel, Bur Dubai (Jockey's). Usual passport copy required. If you take lady upstairs, additional 100 Dhs on bil. Booking a double might avoid the 50dhs surcharge.
- 08/06...YELLOW...Panorama Hotel, Deira. guests are allowed with a copy of their passport and an additional rate of 50 dhs.
- 02/06...RED?........Palm Beach Rotana Inn. No reports from forum as such, but an non P4P report stated: "The area is very popular with migrant workers and there's rarely a lady to be seen, all of which makes for an uncomfortable evening for females."
- 04/06...GREEN......Radisson SAS (Dubai Media City). Report said wg was able to walk in directly, no problems. Unsure about later at night.
- 11/05...GREEN......Ramada Continental. Near airport; may ask for the girl's visa copy
- 01/06...GREEN.....Ramada Hotel on Mankhool Rd. in Bur Dubai. Copy of her passport (no passport, no girl) (MANY favorable reports)
- 10/03...GREEN.....Ramada Intercontinental
- 03/06...RED.........Ramee International Hotel Deira. Not GF. Another comment: ramee group hotels are mostly not GF
- 11/05...RED.........Regal (Plaza/Palace)(where Rockafellas is) is a NO NO NO!!!!!!! Grown men seen crying when absolutley no way guests could be brought to room.
- 02/06...RED.........Regent Palace Hotel. Charge you between 150 to 250 dhs additional. Latest: they outrightly said no to guest I tried to bribe the security guy but in vain
- 10/05...YELLOW....Renaissance. Guest registration required; 100 dhs charge added to bill
- 06/06...GREEN.......Rihab Rotana. Good if you have your own car. Underground parking garage with elevator directly to your room without passing the lobby does work. However, CANNOT verify that someone trying to get a guest in via the lobby would work. But having a car, parking underground and taking the elevator up works like a dream.
- 02/04...RED..........Riviera
- 01/04...GREEN......Rolla Residence, opposite the Impirial Suites hotel.
- 11/06...GREEN......Royal Mirage Palace
- 05/05...RED..........Rush Inn
- 10/03...YELLOW....Rydges Plaza - costs 100 dhs to have a girl in your room
- 10/05...RED..........Savoy Hotel (same owner as Savoy Park Apartments)
- 10/05...RED..........Savoy Park Apartments (same owner as Savoy Hotel)
- 09/03...RED..........Sea Shell
- 11/06...YELLOW....Seaview. 50 dhs guest charge. If you bring the WG from the club back into the hotel through the kitchen walkway, if you go straight for the elevator, they may not stop you or the girl.
- 06/05...YELLOW....Shangri-La Hotel. (Shangri La) 150 dhs for each girl
- 11/06...GREEN......Sheraton 4 Points (Sheraton Four Points) in Bur Dubai (MANY favorable reports)
- 05/06...GREEN......Sheraton Deira (different than Sheraton Dubai Creek) No extra charges, copy of residence permit, copy destroyed in the morning. "Green all the way."
- 02/06...GREEN......Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel. Ask for high floor: in the lobby, where there is seating for guests to relax, they can see the first 4 floors worth of all the doors as they look up and around.
- 02/05...GREEN.....Sheraton Jumeirah Beach. Copy of their passport. Taxi to city: 50 dhs (USD14) (she will ask you to pay).
- 01/07...GREEN.....Sofitel City Centre (yes, 2007)
- 03/04...GREEN.....St. George Hotel, near Deira Public Library
- 08/04...RED........Taj Palace is pretty strict. Large population of long bearded males.
- 04/06...GREEN.....Towers Rotana Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road. Night cops patrolling that area all the time; near the Towers Rotana hotel as well, especially in the parking area. GF, did ask for passport copy as I checked in but no hassles.
- 05/05...GREEN.....Traders Hotel (part of Shangri La chain) in Deira
- 10/05...RED.........Vendome Plaza. A dump (no choice: hotel scene TOTALLY booked). Not only that, charged 200 dhs for guest; took her passport copy
- 03/06...YELLOW....Waterfront Appartments on 16th st off Bank Street in Bur Dubai. Hotel wanted to charge extra 100 dhs for guest, but receptionist would not give receipt, so customer did not pay. Another posted charge of 50 dhs for guest. Has underground parking, with lift.
- 09/05...GREEN.....Winchester Grand/Old Winchester
- 11/05...RED........York. NO NO NO!!!!!!! Guests not permitted.

When in doubt, call them and check their policy.
Fairmont is a taxi ride from Diera, as is everywhere apart from the 4 Points, but only a short-ish one.

in deference to your senior member status i will not scold you with the well deserved rtff. take a peek, fairmont is listed.
try the pod thread for more info. if i had any first hand experience there i would have posted it.
did you ustfse for the fairmont? that should yield the relevant post. i did the search and it is reported as friendly. what friendly means in your terms i have no idea, to me it means i can bring back a lady with minimal or no problems. ymmv. being dxb, i suggest friendly means no problems.
yet once again, i drag this list to the top, it was one whole page back!

I RTFF and found Fairmont of the GF friendly list, but what exactly does that mean? Do they charge extra for girls? Any tips to avoid the walk of shame? Also, not knowing the physical layout of Dubai that well, what mongering locations are close? How far is the Astoria (TGIT)?

You could be lucky and they may let you through but my friends told me that they were asked to pay 50dhms one night and then 100 dhms few days later due to some change in policy. although that could just be the hotel trying to make more money on that night.
Hope to get an update from you.
Have fun now.

Hey man,
Are you sure of that? I already booked in parnorama a double room based that in such case I will not be charged the 50DHS fees if I have a girl in my room. Now you are saying that they are charging 100DHS. Please confirm if you had single or double room: (
