Stayed in the hotel (appartement area) now 3 days in the first week and again 2 days in second week.
In first week no question at all, WG came with me when I checked in, no question asked. Next day when came into hotel security guy tries to get some money from me, he entered elevator with me and WG and asked for some tips, I just ignored him and told him that we are checked in as regular guests. Left elevator without further question.
In second week did the same again, now reception asked for passport copy of WG, but that was all.
So Metropolitan is certainly GF.

Stani friend mentioned that there are more "non-GF" hotels these days.
Classic venues continue with either a PP copy and no hassle (Dhow Palace for ex.) or no copy needed (Sofitel for ex.) but she was certain that in the last month, many previously "friendly" hotels have started requiring original PP plus visa page for visitors
One must wonder if this was a heads-up about the current crackdown.
Sky is falling: While THIS crackdown is getting publicity, it is only one of dozens I have weathered in the last few years. I suggest it is more window dressing than actual "zero tolerance." As many have pointed out, someone is sponsoring the visa´s, and to date, they have not been a target.

Stayed at the Avari again in Diera last weekend. All change.
Thursday night they wanted to see passport copies, and on Saturday night the jumped up little prick behind reception ended up putting a 200 DHS charge on the rooms, that's 200 per each guest !!
WTF!!
Didn't pay it when we checked out obviously and will never stay there again.
Avoid it like the plague, there is plenty better for the money.

Posts: 144Last time I stayed at the OLD one about a month ago it was still good, only a copy of the girls passport required (about half the time they didn't ask for anything though). I was describing the NEW Four Points below.

Will be in DBX for two nights in about a week... Currently have reservation at old Four Points Sheraton and am a little concerned regarding whether or not it remains "Green"... Considering canceling that reservation and booking a room at Dar Al Sondos.
Cost is not really a consideration as the price difference is only 400 Dhm. All things considered, (location, GF, quality of room) which would be your preference?
