Posts: 87Update on a few Hotels
Following recent trip to Dubai, I can confirm the following:
1 Regal Plaza is GF. Having picked up a girl from the upstairs bar, I enquired for a room, only to be quoted Dhs700 for a Superior Room, the only one available. I refused and went elsewhere.
I suspect that their staff are told to push the higher, expensive rooms first, before selling the standard rooms.
2 Dallas is still GF, although they had no rooms.
3 Good old Meena Plaza. Was quoted Dhs250 for a room, "until 6am", lol. Ended up taking their offer. They have previously quoted similar rates, up until a certain time in the morning, hoping to sell a room twice in a day. Copy
passport were required from BOTH of us.
4 Karama Hotel is also ideal, esp when you pick up a girl from the Ratsk Bar on the ground floor. As we were staying there and staff knew us, they did not request a copy of her passport NOR was I asked to pay extra for a Guest.
DEF NOT GF:
1 Moon Valley Apartments: Definiltely No Go.
I am not sure if this one is already on the list.
FR's to follow in the relevant section.

12/06...YELLOW...Panorama Hotel, Bur Dubai (Jockey's). Usual passport copy required. If you take lady upstairs, additional 100 Dhs on bil. Booking a double might avoid the 50dhs surcharge.
As to being a dive; well, it sure beats the Dallas But it's far from plush too.
I'd venture to say that the hesitation, unless they KNOW you, might be the "who are you and how did you get my number" syndrome. Lot of Lookie Lous around, and venturing to a hotel to entertain a guest, sight unseen, unless he has some good references, considered bit of a risk...
And, given it's a bit "down market", that is being translated as "small wallet".

Hi friends,
I am Nick 27 Male due to arrive in DXB on 15th. From the reports it seems that Panorma Bur Dubai is a guest friendly hotel and i made a booking there.
However when i contacted some girls they are reluctant to visit me there. Why is it so?
Is there any checking or police interference that keeps them away.
Awaiting your advise.
Nick

Staying here for a few days and note the following..
1/ GF
2/ Walk of shame can be avoided by using the 'pool' lift, turn left on entry and head for pool as if just browsing. Gives access to all floors.
3/ nternet connection is through media city so no need for proxy avoidance.

I was in Dubai two weeks ago and spent a night at Ramee residence apparments on Rolla St. Bur Dubai and found the hotel girl friendly but you need to pay 150 Dhms for the guest and her original passeport and a lot of staring eyes looking at you and the Turkish blonde (dyed Hair).
Hotel quality poor but cheap.
Also stayed at Rolla apparments on the same street on my way back to UK and walked in with a guest, no questions asked. Initail booking must be for a double room, only, as I asked at the desk before bringing any body back.
Good clean studio apparments.

I just returned from Dubai. I spent two days at the Dar al Sondas Apartments by Le Meridien. Dar al Sondas is 100% girl friendly. It was also cheap (550 AED per night including taxes) and very large rooms. They upgraded me to executive junior suite that included breakfast and internet. But I overslept and missed the breakfast. When I arrived, I took the bellhop aside and asked me if I could bring a guest. He said it was no problem, but I might be asked for a copy of the girls passport. Later that night after midnight, i brought a girl back (see FR) but nobody at the front desk or security even gave me a second glance. However, I did get some funny looks from two well-suited businessmen who were in my lift!
As for Four Points, I obviously fucked up. But I swear I looked at the Sheraton and Starwood websites 10 times and the other 4P hotel never came up in my searches.

Thanks for the confirmations. That is indeed excellent news. Rockefellas is an old favourite of mine, and to have the option of just going upstairs? :-)
