Dubai - Hotel Information

I researched Emirates Towers on ISG. It seems to be a hotel to avoid, i.e. Red. But the report is a bit old. Any update on the current situation?

I am staying there in mid June. Any new input will be appreciated.

RED - if you are lucky and the girl has her original passport you may get lucky. I have stayed there and had a girl but that becasue I created a fuss etc and used some 'wasta' but it is one to avoid so best go across the road to the Crowne Plaza or Fairmont

If it’s GF or not may be immaterial – assuming you do find sufficient space to squeeze a girl in it will be unlikely there will be enough space to shag her. LOL

BC, I bow to your greater knowledge on the subject of EasyHotels. Mind you, in my twenties I managed to shag my girlfiriend routinely in my Austin Mini - but only by alternating our breathing :-)

St. George is reported "green" in this thread. I called the hotel and was told that it is up to the secruity to let or "not to let" your female companion. The reception desk has no control over it as I understood. Does this mean that the GF color of the hotel depends on the mood of a secruity guard and the color spectrum can be anywhere between green and yellow? Now, I am leaning toward 4 point sheraton even though St. George has very good rates at this moment. Any comment is appreciated. Thanks,

Maybe a green note helps in turning the red light into green.

Sounds Green to me... though the no bar might be a downer for some. Are you sure the hotel's attitude wasn't a reflection of YOUR conscience?

Thinking back now, I would agree with you. It probably was my conscience. I thought they let me off, but that dont make any sence to me now. Why would they, I wasn't a special person, lol.

Diera is "old city", many 1-way, NARROW streets, prone to the "flashing lights" syndrome (you can do anything as long as you turn your car's flashers on).. Bur Dubai is the "newer" city, wider streets. I'd say it'd be easier to reach 4 points than St George, but I'm just guessing. Although the BurJaman intersection is torn up with metro constuction, Bank street is wide.

Nice of members to post about their hotel experiences, both of unsung hotels and to confirm the state of other well knowns.

CYCLONE. Is still happening I got a Girl from th from UKRAINE. And paid her USD 200. The asking rate is very high 1000 DHM to 1500 DHM but 500-700 you get very good stuff.

We came to hotel around 2 AM and she stayed with me for appx 4 Hours, she left around 5. 30 AM in the morning no extra money.

$200 for ST? I'd certainly hope there was no extra money... But as I say, a good price is what she's worth to YOU, that night. Glad you enjoyed (and why I don't pull from Cyclone...)

In regards to GF. I am not too sure. ... No surcharge, no I. D, no questions asked BUT the staff make you feel like youve commited the biggest sin. I personally thought its not GF and they just let me off with it.

Piper1, thanks for the information. South CIS girls are often my favorites, also. I hope average ST/LT rates in St. George are not much over 700 AED. Judging from Dubai's map, 4 point seems to be closer to DXB airport than St. George. Is there significant difference in the journey time (with taxi) around 11pm? I probably will skip Meridien since it comes up 2 times more expensive than 4 points, unless it is worth that? Thanks, again.

I agree with Piper1, 4 points is the most recomended hotel from most punters.

Close proximity to major venues, GF and well located in general.

Its only a 15 min journey to/from the airport. St Georges will be about the same.

I cannot help you on ST Georges, but can recomend Regal plaza for CIS (2 mins walk from 4 points). In Regal I have managed 500 LT before but all to do with your approach. Same

The nightclubs in St George Hotel are full of Arabic-lookalike girls (not necessarily Arabic girls). Many are CIS with black-dyed hair and too much black eye-liner - I like that look ). As for GF, I don't know. Beware, St. George is in a gridlock traffic area of Deira, even at that time of night.

Tip for your short stay: stay close to the airport (eg Meridien - surprisingly inexpensive), and it has Jules Bar (many CIS girls for around 700).

I arrive to DXB at 10pm (after total 25 hour flight) and depart late afternoon next day. I am trying to find a hotel that is "close" to after-1am action involving CIS and arab girls (not necessarily high quality, though < 700 AED). After RTFF and checking hotel prices, I decided to choose between St. George Hotel and Four Points. Which of these would you recommend? I will look for 2-3 hour ST upon arrival. I would probably turn into a pumpkin around 2-3am, so dont want to waste several hours seeking a lady. I appreciate any help.

Yes. Totally GF. No questions.

If you dont want to go through the lobby, then have the taxi drop you off at the back (office/apartment building) entrance. Go in, past the cafe, take the elevators of the apartment building to the Spa floor, thne cross the bridge to the hotel side.
This works only until midnight because that floor is not accessible after that time.

Expedia and Airline Network if you're booking from the UK. They seem to have association with certain hotels / chains so its always worth comparing. My experience of calling the hotels has been same as yours; they will tell you the rooms are full however they can offer you the ocean view suite at a squillion dirham / night. Crazy crazy.

In my experience, local travel agents can score you a decent rate, as will calling the property directly... SOMETIMES.

When things are full, the corporate (Accor, Sheraton-Starwood, Hilton etc) websites can yield a good rate, but you have to check every 10 minutes, and pounce when you see a rate you will pay.

What is wrong with DXB hotels? Nothing from their point of view, they tend to stay 80% booked, so they are happy as clams, from my point of view? WAY overpriced for what you get.
