When in doubt, call them and check their policy.
Fairmont is a taxi ride from Diera, as is everywhere apart from the 4 Points, but only a short-ish one.

in deference to your senior member status i will not scold you with the well deserved rtff. take a peek, fairmont is listed.
try the pod thread for more info. if i had any first hand experience there i would have posted it.
did you ustfse for the fairmont? that should yield the relevant post. i did the search and it is reported as friendly. what friendly means in your terms i have no idea, to me it means i can bring back a lady with minimal or no problems. ymmv. being dxb, i suggest friendly means no problems.
yet once again, i drag this list to the top, it was one whole page back!

I RTFF and found Fairmont of the GF friendly list, but what exactly does that mean? Do they charge extra for girls? Any tips to avoid the walk of shame? Also, not knowing the physical layout of Dubai that well, what mongering locations are close? How far is the Astoria (TGIT)?

You could be lucky and they may let you through but my friends told me that they were asked to pay 50dhms one night and then 100 dhms few days later due to some change in policy. although that could just be the hotel trying to make more money on that night.
Hope to get an update from you.
Have fun now.

Hey man,
Are you sure of that? I already booked in parnorama a double room based that in such case I will not be charged the 50DHS fees if I have a girl in my room. Now you are saying that they are charging 100DHS. Please confirm if you had single or double room: (

The point of the post was to re iterate that the once 100% gfe hotel is now asking for girls to leave documents at reception.
Panorama however has gone up from 50 - 100 dhms.

Do you truly need an apartment if it's only a week? Why not just book a hotel suite with two bedrooms in Bur Dubai at a GF place such as Four Points Sheraton or ramada, or two hotel rooms with adjoining doors?

Hi,
I am looking to book an apartment for six people. Willing to spend approx. £1000 for a week. My problem is that I am finding only apartments in the Marina area but I want somewhere more central i.e. Bur Dubai.
Any ideas?

Posts: 19I've been visiting Dubai now for about 6 years about 10 times a year total and as I've just found this forum, I thought I'd add my 2 cents worth.
Le Meridien Airport: Never a problem. The staff just smile and say 'hello' as you pass by with your girl on your arm. I've not even had to meet them outside. They just come to the room with no hassle. (Yeah, you have to have a number! Girls just don't walk the halls and knock on random doors, of course! Lol!) The hotel is a maze, though. Make sure you know where you are going otherwise that 'walk of shame' can be quite the long one sneaking back from Jules. Assuming you want to avoid co-workers, that is. They have ground floor rooms with sliding doors that exit to the outside (they also have rooms on the ground floor that exit into the courtyard. They don't have access to the outside unless you go inside the hotel first. Keep it in mind if you want to book such a room). So, if you are rather shy you can leave the sliding door unlocked and use that as your exit/entrance.
Renaissance: Stayed there once a year ago. Nice hotel. Called my usual 'friend' at the time and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, I called her and asked where she was. She was stuck downstairs waiting for the staff to process her passport. I had to call the desk and tell them to send her up. She had been sitting there for 1/2 an hour waiting for them to contact me. Cost for the extra guest: 100 DHS.
Now I'm slated to stay at the Al Bustan Rotana. I'll let you know how that works out afterwards.
I'll also post some of the few photos I've taken in the Photos section sometime.
