I was in China in late June and early July. My friend Ting in Beijing had been trying to get me to visit Xiamen with her for several years. I was kinda bored in Ningbo so decided to take the train down to Xiamen and let Ting show me around. Xiamen was nice but I soon got tired of all the shopping places Ting kept dragging me too. This has happened to me before with other Chinese women. It is like they enjoy having a man with them when shopping. Most of my experiences have been like this most recent experience with Ting, where she paid for everything so it was not like she took me shopping so I could buy her stuff. Some Chinese women are conservative and won't have sex on the first date or even second date. I had one tell me that only bad girls have sex before second date. I thought I might expand on my differing opinion (which concurs with the opinion of some other long time posters here), and Chinese tradition.

Chinese from adjacent provinces sometimes call Hubeinese "jiǔ tu niǎo" or nine headed birds (legendary phoenix dragon from Hubei province). It is a derogatory term and is generally understood to mean cunning or sly. The association in meaning comes from the traditional legends, and a number of versions are recorded.

Even Hubei locals call their girls "jiǔ tu niǎo" and the meaning has extended to being bossy, clever, conniving, wanting to make quick money and being averse to work.

I agree with this characterization. Do you?

Many mongers group the girls from Hunan / Hubei in the same category because the provinces are close together. IMHO, they are worlds apart. I agree with you that most of the Hubei girls are sly and cunning and deliver the least amount of service in the shortest period of time.
