The new Hanggang port of entry

    You are right.

If the vans go through the new Hanggang port of entry, the immigration at the kiosks take the passports and verify their pictures with passengers sitting in the vans. I don't remember having to take the luggage through China's Customs like at the old Luohu POE.

The vans continue through the Hanggang POE and drop you of somewhere in Futian for transfer to local vans. This is the quickest and most convenient way to go from HKIA to hotels in SZ or Changping where the hot girls are waiting patiently. Hehe.

    From HKIA

Looks like it will take a bit walking and bus change. Unless there is a direct MTR line linking HKIA and Hung Hom, it's too much work and may take up too much time.

I think it's far more convenient to buy van tickets from HKIA direct to ShenZhen, Changping or Shijie and get drop off at the hotels. You can get picked up by the van at HK IA's arrival terminal. The van will drop you off at the border where you have to take the luggage and clear customs into China. You will then be taken by other vans into China.

The vans are the simplest, most direct and least work to get delivered to the hotels. It costs around 100 Rmb to go to a hotel in ShenZhen.

To take the MTR from HK Cheap Lap Lok, I think the walk is about 1 mile (yuk) from the air terminal to the MTR stop. Take the MTR to Kowloon then walk half a mile to Hung Hom station.

Does not look like there is convenient MTR link between HK IA and Kowloon train station. I may as well take the shuttle van directly to to Hung Hom.
You can change off the airport line at Tsing Yi to the Tung Chung line as far as Nam Cheong, then travekl to East Tsim Sha Tsui or Hung Hom, I believe the bit from ETST to HUng Hom is a long walk, not a train.

CP. The Golden Period, The good and the bad

From now until about one week before Chinese New Year (CNY January 31, 2014) , it is known as "The Golden Period" in CP. Every medium to large KTVs have an over abundance of girls. A lots of new girls from all walks of life (mostly from factories) are working just for a couple of months as they feel the pressure of bringing home some extra money before going home for CNY, so this the good part, the bad part is that a lot of these new girls work as "temporary" girls so everyone that select these girls have to be careful as there have been incidents that these girls will steal or rob their customers and take off without a trace. Certainly there are some recourse against the KTVs / mommies that handles these girls but it is a big hassle to try to get them to compensate you for what you lose. Additionally, there will be more pick pockets and scams going on from now until CNY so be on alert and my advise is that if you do choose a temporary girl, be sure to get that girl mommy's business card in case anything happens and lock up your valuables in your room safe.

    Take one for the team

csc did post pics of some very sweet-looking young girls. i would love to check him out for the team, but i am not due in china for a few more months.

does the high-speed train from shenzhen stop at shijie? or just the slow trains? i could take the train from shenzhen to check out shijie.

i kind of enjoy the unique experiences in small towns china where people are still chinese.

I was not suggesting the you blindly hook up with a girl on WeChat. I was suggesting that if you spend time, in the flesh so to speak, then an easy way to stay in touch with her, especially if you don't speak Chinese is to get her weChat I'd.

I personally have never been successful hooking up with a WG for the first time on weChat. I've had some interest but the pics are tough to see what they really look like and half the time they drop me, perhaps because I don't post my pic and it is clear I don't speak Chinese. Just go to a bbs, large selection, easy viewing. Best is to get a guide to take you if you don't know your way around. Otherwise walk around the Swan Lake hotel street around 4:00-7:00 pm. A mm will eventually approach you.
