And ALL the BBS's there was open yesterday; at least they were up to around 6 PM.
A Chiu did tell me that he thinks he'll shut his place down a bit earlier yesterday (Monday July 9) if business didn't pick up.

Went to the Swan Lake BBs's and they're all fully open and well stocked!
Scared the shit out of all the other mongers I guess. And thus LOTS of choice.
25-30 at 1, over a dozen at another and at least 10 or so in the others.
Also had messed around with the mommies as usual and confirmed it that the gal that got killed was at the Nga Tau hotel behind the Clipper. Thus A Chiu's place was the first one shut and even today was the ones with only the 10 or so.
Lets see what the evening brings / if the KTV's will also re-open; but I just came back and I saw the usual 6. 7 PM flurry of fully made up KTV gals rushing about, having their hair / make-up done, catching taxis etc so presume that all systems also go at the KTV's.
SEAN. Whew. Sigh of relief!

Had a great run with SEAN and some friends. It's good to enjoy a good walk-about and visiting rooms full of gals.

I've got confirmation from several regulars in CP- who work in KTV and Saunas that they are called back to work today. So I think today will signify the beginning of the Govt. Relaxing their iron grip on the sex industry. It will take a couple of weeks for the girls to get back to normal again and feel safe about coming back out to work again. But Slowly but surely CP and the rest of DG will climb back up again. WG can earn their money and Mongers can have their fun.

I came to CP once in a while. It's my bad luck that I chose last weekend. All saunas are closed for "renovation". But I noticed that in the morning, there are many xiaojies having breakfast with their clients in my hotel. So some of the KTVs are still open. I must say this kind of clampdown seldom happen in CP. This must be the new secretary Wang Yang trying to impress the party so as to be elected to the Standing Committee of the Politburo. Hope things go back to normal soon. Happy mongering!

Actually we've had it pretty good past couple years or so, with these clean-up campaigns in the interim being quite mild compared to previous efforts; and I THINK it's got a lot to do with my thoughts that the powers-that-be may want to concentrate all such activities to one location Chang Ping.
Past couple years or so, we've all witnessed tremendous building of not only lavish Hotels / KTV's / Sauna facilities. But also WG / monger-centric ancillary facilities like shopping malls, apartment building and even posh dining / private clubs here. And we've also seen hordes of mongers all coming primarily to Chang Ping AWAY from previous mongering areas like Chang An, Zhuhai, Houjie, Shenzhen which has all been "cleansed" pretty good.
But things IMHO has gone out of whack with too many over-the-top incidences occurring too many times. Drugs, criminality, and dare I say it, too many Sex Tourist Foreigners coming over and threatening to give the impression that China is some kind of sex-tour-destination. China needs to keep its "pristine" International image. Welll. At least as far as its morality is concerned! LOL!
And of course that sauna girl getting killed recently; just too many things all happening at the same time and thus just time for a reality check IMHO.
Plus of course there IS that new Party Secretary for Guangdong province Wang Yang who appears poised to escalate his campaign against corrupt cadres. Especially as it promises to further increase his political capital ahead of the 18th Communist Party congress. Wang Yang told government officials last week Guangdong's graft-busters would offer no quarter to bureaucrats and party leaders cheating the system for personal gain."We must fight corruption with extreme determination, courage and persistence in order to maintain the advancement and purity of the Chinese Communist Party," he said, according to mainland media.
Wang's campaign has drawn both praise for its breadth and criticism for its resemblance to the politically tinged crackdowns carried out by Bo Xilai before his removal in March as Chongqing party boss.
SEAN. But also wondering when this all is going to ease up!

Usually, this kind of thing happens when someone new ascends to power in Dongguan. It is part of showing who is boss and what he can do. Then the owners will come calling with their millions in brief cases and all will be good. The dead girl may only be a catalyst. Eventually, the person who shut down the place will himself be under so much pressure all will return to normal. My guess is another week. Idiot Malaysians refusing to stop. They will be thousands each poorer when they sober up.

For the coming few weeks, I strongly recommend going some place else. Try other places like CA, Humen, Shenzhen,
Houjie , ZMT or Macau. Hopefully they are fine but I will be very very cautious of LE. Macau is the best option.

Has this ever happened before? And if so, how wide spread was it and were there any lasting effects?
CP has been on my bucket list for some time. I hate to hear bad news like this. The 2009 crackdown in Phnom Penh comes to mind.

But why not just come out with PRECISELY what's the situation there?
As it is, whilst your "weather reports" does give us an indication, that is all it is, an indication instead of what it is actually on the ground where you are.
So howzaboutit!
Thanks.
