Making a stand and fighting has 2 possible outcomes:

1. You win, keep your money. Hopefully there are no legal entanglements with the police.
2. You lose, lose your money, get your ass kicked. Hopefully there are no legal entanglements with the police.

Fight only if you have no other choice, or something to actually gain over running, which in this case,you did not.
No dishonor in leaving a lose-lose situation behind.

After I left the bar I hopped into a cab with a very young and eloquent driver. Told him to bring me back to my hotel, and he was trying to suggest another new venue.

He asked if I wanted women for take out, and they will be young girls who are currently in University doing their undergrad. What is going to happen is that he will bring me to a KTV place, you pay RMB. 80 for the room, then choose your girl, and then pay about RMB. 500 for your take out (again YMMV for the takeout price). According to him, what most people do is they go to the KTV, pay for the room fee, get the girl, and immediately leave with their takeout. Hence they don't bother ordering drinks, food, or even singing. The room fee is basically like the mamasan fee (haha).

Now I know what you are thinking, but I felt a little weird that the driver spoke really eloquent Chinese, and that he was pretty young when compared to most cab drivers who have really heavy jiangsu accents and are much older, hence I declined the offer fearing that it was LE. The next day when I checked with the bellboy of my hotel, he did confirm that there are many night-shift taxi drivers offering the same kind of services, and that these KTV takeout services are actually real. He also said the driver that I encountered might be a student himself who is doing night shifts for money, hence the young age and eloquent Chinese speaking skills.

So if you're in the mood for easy take-outs with SYTs, this is probably what you can choose to do. Please do take note that the KTVs are located near the University areas, so can be pretty much further away from Xinjiekou. [/QUOTE]Guys,

Much appreciated to Equine however, I went to 1912 last night and a guy asked me if I wanted to see some young girls at KTV. He whisked me away in a taxi to a place that was a bit far all the while telling me how great it is and that its 80RMB for the mama and then 500-600 for the girl.

When we got there, he came in with me and I asked him to wait so I could get a takeaway. He said ok. Thats when it rolled downhill.

There was a lineup and I chose the best looking one. The mama ordered me a 6 pack of beer then we proceeded to play dice and drink beers.

Occasionally, the mama came in and did a 'gambei' with us.

When I finally asked the girl to go, she said ok let me get my jacket and the maidan (bill). She came back and said 400RMB and then 200RMb for her when we go.

I paid her.

Then the mama came in and said 300RMB and I tried to negotiate but she said we can go and no more charges.

Then a big guy came in with a bill that said 2, 850RMB. I've been thru this before but it was in Shanghai and I knew at that moment it would be trouble.

I told him I didn't have anymore cash and he asked for my credit card. I only have a visa and they didn't take it so I said I would go to the atm then come back. Knowing full well that I would try for the escape (again)

He called a really big guy to go with us and the girl came along too. Stupid me, I got in first and she sat next to me and the big guy was up front.

I tried the passenger door but like all other taxis it was locked. Stupid, stupid stupid.

After about a half mile, we got to a bank and I looked around for an escape route but needless to say, there was none and the big guy looked a fair bit of shape to risk either punch in the guy or face then make a run for it, but I couldn't be sure because he looked like he could handle himself.

Begrudgingly, I went in and he followed me while the girl stood outside on the phone. I got the money out and was about to count it and then he tried to grab it away.

At this point, I had enough and yelled at him to go out at which point he grabbed my arm and started to shake me while yelling in Chinese.

I got my arm free said wait a minute, let me count outside. I made a move for the door but he tried to grab my arm again to prevent a runner.

As I opened the door, he let go and I slammed the door back into him and started to bolted across the street into traffic looking around for some side streets to escape down.

The girl started yelling into the phone and I knew she was on with someone else at the KTV so I made a mad dash across the other side all the while cars screaming by me. I ran down the street without looking back and then finally realized the big guy was no where in sight.

I kept running to even further streets because I knew he could be in the area still. Luckily I made it to another taxi and went home.

Now bear in mind that this happened to me before I had to take on a fat guy and a little guy but that was in Shanghai and the place was totally dodgy and off the beaten path.

I am lucky enough to be of fair size and good shape but can tell you from experience, making a run for it in hostile circumstances is still honorable because sometimes there are knives or other weapons involved or more guys who can take the best fighters in a rush.

This is weird. After my last post I wrote a long report about 1912, getting girls there and even take outs.

I also wrote about taxi drivers bringing you to University girl KTV joints.

I know the above's been covered before, but my report includes the prices and also more detailed info on where and how to get them.

That sounds familiar because I've done that myself many times.

There are clusters of them around hotels where foreigners stay although the quality is hit and miss.

There's one close by where I live and oddly, there was a gal there over Chinese New Years that was a 9. 5. She spoke english and dressed better than any MP / BBS gal or for that matter, KTV gal.

I saw her every day for a week then she dissapeared. Her story was that she was going to school here and needed some money over the holidays because she didn't want to go back to Sichuan.

Got her number but now it doesn't work. Oh well.

Aside from the places I posted about previously, I recently found a full-service quasi fishbowl over on Hangzhongmen the jie, about 3 blocks before you get to the big Auchan supermarket. It looks like the decor from the place on Shanghai Lu / Guangzhou Lu that closed down last summer and I suspect that it's probably the same owners.

The price is 880 although the selection is a bit dissapointing. Nothing more than a 6-6. 5 and quite a few larger gals if that floats your boat.

Also, went to the Zhongshan hotel 3rd floor Sauna although the selection was equally dismal. Pricing of 580 but some heavy duty gals on duty. Not a good visit although during the nights it might be better.

I just want to add more info on the scene in Nanjing, if it's not already repeated in the forums, or if it's already repeated, this is just a refresher. Veterans, please do feel free to enlighten me if I did get any facts wrong.

1. 1912 Bars (especially the loud techno / trance ones)

As most people who have already RTFF would already know this, but here's to a little more detail.

I was at 1912 and couldn't make up my mind on which bar to go to. I went to Blue Marlin, and found that the place is pretty much a live band bar. There are some WGs here and there, but most are already preoccupied with western men. So I left the place and looked for other venues.

The problem with most of the bars here in 1912 is that it's catered mostly to the younger local populace, so you have lots of loud techno or house music. Good if you're into the scene, bad if you're not. And the worst thing is that since the bars are catered towards locals, english is very limited here so it's best if you know some Chinese.

I went to several places that were touted, but didn't left pretty quickly due to the overwhelming testosterone levels there. The last place I went to was Touch1, where I was amazed there were hot girls around.

So the tout got me a corner sofa seat, and I ordered a couple of coronas and a platter of fruit. He also got me a sitting girl for RMB. 200, which was pretty cheap since they sit with you the whole night. You can play games, chat (if you know mandarin) but no silly hanky panky. Hence like I said before, you need to know some Chinese to be able to enjoy these spots.

Then I realized that the girl I have with me, is a "sister", who is in charge of two groups of girls. 1. Models, and 2. Xiao Jies (little ladies / Miss). Difference between the two is that Models will sit with you and have fun, but that's it. Misses can do the above and have the option of take-out for RMB. 600. YMMV because you can negotiate and see what you end up with. Hence if you do ask for girls, you must tell the tout which category you want. Just tell them "I want / don't want take out" before you start your selection. They will bring several girls over (one at a time) and you can choose what pleases your senses. The girls never ask for girlie drinks, just buy your drinks before hand and that's it. But of course when you order more drinks, the girls get a commission from that. Each month a model can make up to around RMB5k. I never got a chance to ask the XiaoJies.

I took some time to ask the tout and he told me that they sometimes have foreign customers as well, so they do have some girls with limited english-speaking abilities, but not much. They have been trying to get more english-speaking girls but it's hard as they are pretty much sought after by the other clubs doing the same thing. Also. Models outnumber the Xiaojies by 2 to 1, so you got to get there earlier to really get your pick.

Just some bits of info about these girlie bars.

Honestly I was trying to find the BBSes that Tybao Reported but scoured the entire Xijiekou and can't find anything. Then it dawned on me that BBSes and such will never be in an area where it's bright and with lots of people, but I was sure there was going to be one somewhere near. So I kept walking and heading towards alleys where there are lights.

In honest truth, I was really going to give up when walking down that alley, telling myself that "this is the last alley I'm walking down and I'm going back home!" but then suddenly the pink lights of hope appeared and I was rewarded for my hard work!

The unfortunate part was that after the deal was done, I realized I now had to walk a long way back to my hotel. Haha

I don't know the exact address of the 2 BBS', just head East down the alley next to the McD's and take the first left, walk about 200 meters and take a right, they are next to eachother. No other landmarks that I recall but it was night. I'm sure you can find it with a bit of walking.

I also cannot find the place. If the MickieDees is located on Zhongshan East road, then any alley to this road should be heading either north or south. And there are tons of MickieDees around the area.

I found another BBS near Xinjiekou (more blatantly as a shag joint though). Let's start with the directions.

1. On Zhongshan East road, there is an intersection to a north-south main road called Hongwu Road. Take road southwards on the east side. You'll come to a MickieDees at about 180-200 meters. Just at the McDs, take the east small road (Youfu West Alley) and walk about 150ms eastwards (passing by 2 right turns) and take the 3rd right turn (south) to Yanting Alley. About 80 meters on the west side of this road you'll see a small shop with pink neon lights, which is very blatant it's not a BBS / MP but a screw joint (yet the windows say otherwise!). In fact, looking at the costumes / clothes that the girls wear, it's pretty obvious. If you're walking southwards you won't see it till you're right in front of it because the shop before it blocks the view.

The are about 5-7 girls there, pick any one you want, grades ranging from 6-8. Damage is 150 for the massage, and 200 for FS / ST. Double Concubines is 400. Be aware that the time is pretty short, so it's a "wham-bam-thank you mdm" establishment. When they lead you up to your room, get undressed and ask for what you really want, and just skip the customary massage.

The girl I had was very friendly, I chose one that was on the chubbier side because she really resembled my college sweetheart (haha). But there are other girls with a score of 7 or 8 there. Service was accommodating, I like the friendliness. I also asked for the prices for take out. 300 for ST. 600 for 4 hours (but if the girl likes you she doesn't mind being with you till the sun comes up).

Total damage. $150+200 = $350. Next time I'll try the hottie and see how it goes.

For 200RMB you can get a nice full service with a cute girl and depends on the time of day between 150 to 200RMB near the Carrefour near the Historic Bridge there is some places on the main road under the freeway. Good luck.
