However I hear that streetwalkers are still there, but they won't ask you. You got to spot them and ask. Alternatively just go to a bar with lots of girls and open a bottle or whiskey or vodka. It'll be a dead giveaway that you're a foreigner and the girls will flock to you.

I visited the city a couple of days ago and can confirm:

1. The Hilton Hotel is back to normal operation, even with pretty good occupancy rate.

2. The pressure from the government on our preferred places (saunas, KTV, BBS, etc.) is still there. Most of them are out of business, at least temporarily. I don't dare to guess how long this might last. But since it appears to be part of a nation-wide campaign, I am afraid it's not of too short.

3. The good news 1: I visited a place during my visit, and it was fully operational, even with excellent service.

4. The good news 2: There is also a good chance to get some freelance. I had some very good experience with two of them.

If any senior member likes more information, please PM me. I afraid that to post openly might put some of the places and some most lovely girls at risk, which I definitely don't want. For the same reasons, my information will be sent to senior members only (with own good contribution in the past).

I haven't stayed there recently, but a friend of mine who stayed there confirmed that it is back to normal business. Of course, the famous KTV Club (reason given for the crack-down) remains closed. The security seems to be rather strict, since they don't want to enter any more trouble. So, if you intend not to stay alone at night, you might consider one of the many other hotels. Having said all this does not mean that it is impossible at the Hilton, but it might not be as easy as before.

I'm going to be staying here shortly, and was just curious what type of scrutiny this place is under compared to other hotels in the city at the moment. May not even be participating in "extracurricular activities" due to time restrictions, but just in case, I'd like to have a bit of advanced knowledge of the situation.

There are many bars in Jiefangbei, where it is actually possible to pick up freebies. In Chongqing's bar, if a girl likes you, she will come to have a drink or play dice with you. And then you can start to chat and to know her. But you have to know some chinese in order to connect.

This is how I met my Chongqing girlfriend or mistress. Since then, whenever I go to Chongqing and cannot find any action, I call her and she always glady come to my hotel room for free! Otherwise, I go to these bars and try to pick up a freebie, but you would need to meet her 2-3 times before being able to score.

Chongqing used to be a place with a lot of actions. I remembered last year when I went out from the hotel, I could immediately find FL, KTV or massage parlor almost anywhere in the city. Now most of them are closed or do not offer service anymore. However, Chongqing remains one of the cities with the hottest girl in China.

When you go to a bar (legit), and just sit there sipping your beer, girls will approach you to have a toast and chat with you.

It takes more time, but it is still possible to pick up girls. And this time for free and more girlfriendly! I had in several occasions met girls in the bars in Jiefangbei. After 2-3 times dinner, she normally agrees to go back to my hotel for the night.

However, sometimes, I just would like a quick shot and so far, could not find any joint. Any recommendation of massage parlor?

I am not aware of any particular raid there in Chongqing. However, it may happen any time. The hotels are still under scrutiny, and are checked irregularly. Furthermore, I noticed a few days ago, when I visited Chongqing that one of my favorite places is closed again. I have seen this place changing between open and closed for several times in the last say two years. It's actually a bit scary. And that's what they want. But as someone else wrote - in a few months, it will be over again. I have seen such "waves" coming and going.

For senior members (and only for those!) I still know a relatively safe place with good service in Chongqing. If interested, please PM me.

Does anybody know or has anybody heard of any big recent raids is CQ aside from the Hilton? Of Saunas/ KTVs?
