West China - Kunming

this post is mostly for those who, like myself, plan to spend some time living and playing in km. km is not shanghai nor is it beijing. in those larger cities, especially the first, sex looks for you. you dont have to look for it. here, it is a bit more subtle. isg partners like kunshan who is much more of a stud than i am may not agree. this is my opinion.

saunas. there are a few where the whole shanghai treatment including red rope, rimming, fs, etc is available for 400 to 900 rmb. search the forum for these but there are others that are not in the forum. i think the best is nan jiang (see past posts). problem i have is that the laobans (bosses) there and in the others think that all men want 18 year old near virgins. so you have to ask for an older more experienced woman if you want one. if you are happy with an 18 year old girl who will go through all the right motions but will be shy about seeing you outside or really getting into your love making, the saunas are ok. some are surprisingly expensive and you cant budge the price below 700. others will go down to 350 without a bath in the public area.

bbs type places. these are rep001tered through the city. there is a chinese site that you can only read if you can read chinese and can be found by using google and search terms in chinese that lists some of the neighborhoods. fore example, 金星小区 where fs is supposed to be available for 250-300元，(take beijing lu north to second ring north and turn right about two blocks to this community ); 红联村成片的发廊(go west on south ring road. this community is near dan xia lu), 和平村成片的发廊，fs for 150元/1q(just north of north ring road on beijng lu). the one i like because it is near where i work is on xi yuan south street just east of dan xia lu, on the south side of the street. there are about 4 or 5 bbs massage places. in some there are fs girls who take you to the back for a 150 y quickie (not my cup of tea). in others, it is more subtle and nicer for a guy who wants a regular almost like a freebie type experience. there is one place there where the bubblingly friendly girls take you to the back and give you a good massage with a great hj finish the first time for just 50y. the second time you can take them to your room for 200y and fuck for as along as you like. overnite is about 300-400 y. safe and a really nice experience with really nice girls who know how to really please a man.

street walkers. there a quite a few around the train station but though i have had one good experience there, i have been warned about rip offs and worse, like being robbed or blackmailed if you take a girl home. so i generally dont indulge.

ding dong xiao jie. these are the ones that call your hotel at about 10 pm. "massagee?". some are impersonal, some are great. since i dont live in a hotel anymore, i dont indulge.

Anyone staying in or near the Sakura hotel can look on the "Charlies" bar on the 4th floor for some working girls, they seem to come later in the evening, I left at 8 and they hadn't arrived then, and I can't guarantee they are there every night though. Sorry no price info, but if you are staying in this hotel I guess its a good and easy spot to pick up girls. Also the hotel's in house massage service has "special service", but I am not sure of the price.

i was in dali earlier in january. the old town was pretty quiet and i was able to get a room at the golden flower hotel (jin hua dajiudian) right in the middle of the town for around y150/nt.

i checked in really late-- just after midnight and a girl asked me from the top of the stairs to my floor whether i wanted an "an mo". i asked her how much and she indicated y60 and i said fine, in 15 minutes.

i went in 5 minutes later there was a knock on the door. the mamasan asked me if i wanted fs (i think she used the euphemism "fu wu" for "service" though my mandarin is not great so i asked for clarification which she provided by hand gestures). i was a little taken aback by the mamasan's intrusion as it had only been 5 minutes and i was still settling into the room. i told her no, just a regular massage, to which she asked me several more times to be sure.

i was tired from travelling all day plus i had a cold and it was pretty cold in the room as the hotel had no central heat and the room didn't really have a heater either. i'd guess it was 12 degrees in the room itself or at least it felt that way at the time.

the same girl who asked if i wanted a massage from the lobby came in. she was not particularly pretty-- a 6 at best, slender and tall. i made some light chit chat with her but it was difficult as my mandarin is not great and she didn't really care to try. she turned on the tv and flipped channels throughout while giving a decent though unmotivated massage for the next hour. she did convince me though that i could use the ac as a heater (i had tried at another hotel i had been in with a similar setup and could not tell if there was heat or not-- it's just a very low amount of heat though it made a slight difference) but had a thick coat on the whole time inside or outside the room.

there are also a couple of other massage places on bo'ai lu near the intersection with renmin lu. i checked one out and had a nice foot massage for y50 that really relaxed my feet. i did not inquire about other services though they do have thai and oil massages available. it was pretty cold inside as well so i can't imagine stripping down in 12 degree cold.

on my last night there, the mamasan who watches the lobby from the 2nd floor stairwell or from the outside like a hawk, asked me if i wanted a massage and i said fine, at 11:00. she asked again if i wanted fs and this time i told her that we'll discuss it when she arrived. the mamasan promised to send me someone who is prettier.

40 minutes later, after i showered, there was a knock at the door. this time, i had kept the ac unit set for heat and turned on all day by substituting an airline rewards card for the room key that plugs in to keeps the electricity on so the room was perhaps 20 degrees.

i didn’t have any luck in yuanjiang and i am sure i covered the town from one end to the other end, cross the bridge to the other side. i found rep001tered single bbs’s spread out throughout the core area. some empty, some with single display, others with a small group inside. none attractive or near attractive and definitely didn’t see any of the minorities. i have to admit that the two motorbike (no taxi) guides i used in different times, turned out to be complete idiots so, you guys let me know if i missed out on anything. it felt like it could be starting to be very warm weather soon.

i stayed at hong bao shi hotel. very nice clean room, good services, friendly staff, a bit too much noise, sixty yuan per night. there was a nice ktv on the premises but that is not my game. when i was looking around outside, i was offered blind room delivery which i declined. maybe i should have taken it.

the selection in yuxi was not that interesting this time. it was like the old lyrics “fifty tv channels and nothing to watch” but it was much better further down south.

I had a couple of free hours yesterday so I cycled to this place. It is kind of hidden and I dont think other foreigners use it much. I would be very curious if any of you know anything more than I report here. This sauna opens at about 3 PM. The Chang Cheng (Great Wall) hotel is at 661 Beijing Lu, a bit north of Renmin Dong Lu on the east side of the street. You have to enter a court yard from the sidewalk. The first thing you notice in the courtyard is men and some women dressed in khaki uniforms. The hotel seems to a place for Chinese army meetings of some sort. Dont stop and ask where the sauna is because they wont tell you. There is an army uniform store on the right and there is a complex of hotel buildings on the left. Walk between them to Nan Lou (South Building) also on the right. Enter this building and walk straight ahead to the elevator. Dont ask about the sauna because I dont think they will tell you. Just go to the elevator and then to the third floor. If anyone asks where you are going say truthfully "san lou". I did that without problems. On the third floor, ask the man for a xiaojie to give you a massage. Negotiate the price. I paid 500 but I think you can bargain down. He will lead you to a room and bring in the lineup. I had number 26, very pretty Dong Bei girl. She bathed me and gave me the typical sauna treatment. I kind of like the part where she rubbed my feet on her titties. Red rope is available but I am not into that. This girl did only covered BJ but perhaps others offer BBBJ. After lovemaking, she washed me again, very nice.

Sorry, but I am not too good on directions and I am not familiar with the name Kundu. However, I may have been to this club and not known it was named Kundu. This is because my Kunming relatives occasionally take me out to the local clubs, restaurants, and bars in Kunming. The clubs that I was referring to is in a famous part of the Kunming capital. In this area, there are two large archways. The archways are called the Jinma Archway and the Biji Archway. Most taxi drivers will know of its location. If you are staying in a hotel, ask the front desk to write the name in Chinese so you can give it to the taxi driver.

At night, lots of young people, and young SW hang out near the archways. Near the archways, within a two-minute walk, are a row of restaurants and a few small banks. One bank is called the Bank of Communications. Near the restaurants are the clubs I was referring to. There are maybe 7 or so clubs in this area. It is a local hangout, with lots of babes. I would say that 60% of the babes in the clubs are available for the right price. 100 to 250 rmb for ST. The cost of course depends on your negotiation skills and your command of Mandarin. Also, my guess is that 90% of the babes in clubs never had a foreign guy. Most girls in these clubs are 17 to 25
non-professional freelancers.

This sounds like "The Hump," site of a well-known backpackers hostel and a group of bars, etc. The name come from "flying the hump" in WW II. Lots of college girls hang-out there, probably in hopes of meeting some interesting foreign men who will whisk them off to lives of luxury in the West. Or maybe just someone who knows how to make a woman feel good.

Because he reads Chinese he (just like I did at the first glance) thought he had reached the right place. Other mongers who don't read Chinese may not even have notriced this place, that is why they don't understand what happened to Max.

Try again Max, go ahead, right hand, 2nd floor, there you are. And try to insist for 400...

Bingo! After a close reading of Oldian's post (and his mention that he walked into the hotel lobby) I started to put the pieces together myself and posted (for some reason my post never showed up). But now you've confirmed my guess. Indeed, I went to the place on the left as you go in the driveway towards the hotel and never into the hotel itself. It's all a bit confusing since the place I went to is indeed called "Nanjiand Bath House". Well, sooner or later I'll have to get back and give the "real" Nanjiang Sauna a shot. Thanks again for your assistance.

For the record, the place I went to was very clean with great facilites and very polite staff. The girl I had was pretty and gave me everything but FS, all in all for 300, still not a bad deal at all. I'll post again when I make it to the Nanjiang Hotel Sauna.

not sure what happened for you maxmax.....i went to the nanjiang today, very cold in kunming. upstairs to sauna via the main entrance of the hotel. i speak only the most bare bones chinese...papasan offered some massages, 50, 70,80 yuan, then 500 yuan which was obviously fs...took me to a private room, didn't offer any sauna or steam. it was just after 1, so the place had just opened. all rooms had beach balls and the railings for red ropes. not offered a choice of gals even when i asked about other gals. the gal i was shown was decent enough, nice body. for some crazy reason, they had the aircon on in the rooms and it couldn't be shut off, so both of us were freezing...she showered me down, gave me the hot and cold bj, then fs...rather mechanical, nothing spectacular...i live in thailand and think i'm rather spoiled...my feelings on chinese mongering is that one really needs to speak chinese, and in my limited action here (as well as malaysia and some other spots) i find chinese gals come off as way more mechanical and way less into it then thai gals, so i'm always disappointed (not to mention prices are way higher)..at any rate, the gal had a bag with her that i later peeked into which contained what i think were yellow ropes...but by then we'd already done the deed and that was that...pity, as i was looking forward to a rousing session with the famed number 26...all in all, it was just a decent way to warm up for the day. maybe better at night, and for those with language ability and in the know

thanks oldian--when i first read your report, i was even more perplexed. and then i reread it more carefully. you said you went "upstairs to the sauna through the main entrance of the hotel". whereas the sauna that i went to was entered through a building that i believe was separate from the hotel (on the left in the driveway in from the main road). is it possible that there is a "nanjiang bath house" on the left and a different nanjiang sauna inside nanjiang bing guan (nanjiang hotel)? this would account for the disparity and the fact that i didn't see any of the rooms described and was told that fs was not offered. can anyone familiar with this place clear this up once and for all?
