RTFF, but it's been 5 months since the last update.
Did the anti-fun popo clean the entire city up, or are we regulated to hotel saunas? Can anybody please advise what is still open?
Many thanks in advance.

Detailed account of the experience:
I'm due to fly back to oz in less than 2 weeks and when I found I had some free time last Thursday night (20th) , decided to check out a different establishment to the usual while I still had an opportunity.
I arrived at the the Guan Hotel at 8:15pm. It is located across the road from the Alladin Restaurant which is located at the intersection of Rixin East Lu and Shili Long Lu. The hotel fronts onto the smaller road, I took few pictures for those who want to check it out.
The hotel looks as though someone spent a lot of money building it originally, but hasn't kept up the maintenance and it is starting to look a bit run down. The single elevator for example was out of order when I visited and I had to walk the up to the sauna on the 5th floor. No great hardship, but not a good introduction.
No one at the sauna reception speaks a word of english, so had to assume they knew what I was there for. I was given some thongs to change into and walked to a change room. I could see what appeared to be a sauna set-up further on and wanted to have a quick look before getting undressed. I stuck my head around the corner and saw 5 or so Chinese attendants standing in a hot water area (showers, bathing areas, etc.) though it was a bit hard to see, since it was otherwise deserted and the lights had not been turned on.
There where no other patrons, the place had a somewhat grotty feel and I wasn't particularly comfortable getting undressed while 10 or so Chinese guys looked on, so listened to my gut and walked.
As I walked back to the reception area and put my shoes back on the male attendant is yammering away, no doubt trying to sell me on the place, but even if I had had some idea what he was saying, I wouldn't have stayed.
Conclusion:
This place may have been good back in the day, but appears to be past it's use by date.

If your tastes run to picking up SW try around the back of Kai Wah International Hotel between Yong'an Lu and Yongkang Lu, take care though.
As for BBS's my advise is forget it, if you can find one it will be dirty and dangerous.

Posts: 1Heading to Kunming in a few days for traveling before heading over to Lijiang. Rather sad to hear the anti-fun team has run the place dry. Probably going to stay at the Golden Dragon Hotel (300 rmb per night for a 4 star isn't too bad). Anyone been to the spa attached to this place recently? Last report seems to have been over a year ago, and wondering if the rates are still the same (or if it's still even in business).
Atomic. Have you been to the other streets known for BBS nearby? Yong Ping, Yong Shan, Yong Kang have all been mentioned in the thread to some extent. Also curious if anyone's heard of what is going on with the Golden Star neighborhood north of Beijing Road. Used to be lots of cheap action there from what I've read.

There is a large newish KTV only business called 'Windsor' occupying the 3rd floor of the neighbouring building. My guess is that they couldn't compete.

Got off the train last night and decided to go for a walk through the nearby BBS area in Yongping Lu. I've never spent much time here before as it was my understanding that it mainly catered to Chinese domestic tourists and was all a bit too visible, but since I was here anyway with time on my hands, why not have a quick look.
Walked up and down the street twice getting a feel for what was on offer.
There were plenty of middle aged female touts quietly offering sex, which I thought was a little unnecessary since the BBS's where right there, why would you need touts?
That is until I started talking to a few, they were quoting sauna prices and flashing cards with pictures of hotels on them. They had nothing to do with the BBS's and where just acting as middlemen for hotel sauna operations, one even started calling a taxi to come pick me up before I'd even had a chance to say no.
Another had a unique, (in my experience) sales strategy. She was holding a baby and as she walked next to me she said "anmo. Chou mei mei" in a sing song voice, to which the child would repeat "mei mei". I had to laugh, this would have to be the youngest business apprentice in China. Even Trump would be hard pressed to fire this one.
So then went directly to the first BBS I saw with young woman siting near the entrance. One said "anmo" several times so I went in and asked to have a look at the amenities. In an open, unlit room at the back there were 2 very grubby massage tables that you couldn't have paid me to touch let alone lie on. I made it clear that I wasn't liking what I was seeing and the girl offered no other alternatives, just kept trying to sell me on the room. Needless to say I beat a hasty retreat and caught the next bus home.
There were other so called BBS's in the street, but none were looking any better from the outside, if someone else wants to check them out then by all means, but that's all from me on Yonping Lu.

Decided to try and locate the BJ coffee shop last night (http://www.internationalsexguide.inf...ming&p=1215511) , but couldn't seem to find it, so went back in daylight this afternoon.
I eventually located it and what a surprise, it had been closed down, (see photo) presumably by the anti-fun police.
There was a SW in a black and white stripy dress hanging out on the intersection behind the hotel, but otherwise no signs off life.

Update on Kunming.
I went on business travel. Stayed at Kaiwah Plaza.
There is a KTV on the 5th floor.
One of the Service Girls (the ones that stay in the room and bring more beer, etc) also worked after her shift was over.
About 12 midnight she was free to go to room. I had her come to my room for overnight (the rest of the night)
Very good looking (maybe an 8 or 9) hot body. Probably 21 or 22 yrs old. Tall.
GFE. Not cheap though. 2000 rmb for the night. Multiple. Showers together. No rush. As much sex as I wanted.
Send me a msg if you want her name and contact information.

Back in Kunming, China after a more than 2 year absence.
As soon as I could get away, I went around to the BBS in Xi Yuan Lu, near the corner of Danxia Lu, that I had frequented in the past to see if there where any fresh recruits.
I was unpleasantly surprised to find all the BBS gone. The sex aid shop was still there but otherwise it's now all small facial shops, clinics, legitimate massage shops, etc.
The local administration here is marketing Kunming as a wholesome family vacation destination, (Spring City and all that) any visible prostitution is being eliminated.
I'll have a look and see if the train station BBS are also gone, but to be honest I always found them to be a little too grotty, even for my taste and I've never been fussy about amenities.

Hi guys.
Just been to Dali and confirmed that the 'pink shops' are still around, just more out of sight. If you go down Yuer lu to where the biggest shop was, on the rounded corner, just go left 20m into that alley and it's right there. RMB200 a pop. The girl takes you to a house another 20m down the alley. Other much smaller shops are in the alley on the other side of Yuer (going south) , you walk along and will see the telltale pink lights. They each just have 2-5 girls while the big one had about a dozen when I was there. No stunners but friendly and willing.
Enjoy!
